How To Get Started With Your List Building?

List building is one of the primary jobs of an internet marketer. The best lists are those that work hard and efficiently on an autopilot. Such lists are indeed powerful and give a great push upwards to any internet dependent business. The profits start soaring and the footfalls start increasing. Are you interested in making such a powerful list? Do you want to rake in more profits and increase traffic to your website?

Quality Vs Quantity

When it comes to list building, most internet entrepreneurs go for collecting more number of addresses. They do not care if the person is interested in their product or not. They just want to reach more and more people. There is nothing wrong with having a long list, but such a list is not effective enough. People who do not really resonate with your product are least likely to turn into customers. A targeted list on the other hand is a potential power list. People on this list have a true potential of turning into customers of your product or service.

Keep Your List Up To Date

List building is not effective if it is not up to date. People change their email addresses. They move jobs, or even die. You must take account of mails that bounce back and delete those addresses from your list. In this way, you know your true costumer base. List is not something that you just make and forget about. It is a constant effort.

Update Your List Building Tools

In our fast moving world, the technologies and services are being updated every day. Be aware of these advanced offerings. Periodically check out the professional services that are currently available. You may find some agencies that are specialists in list building and auto responders. Using such a service will pay rich dividends in the long run.

Legal Requirements

As an internet entrepreneur, you must consider the legality of what product you are sending to people out there and how you are sending it. Inappropriate email invites stringent laws. There are stiff penalties. Sometimes, it may entail loss of your internet site. It is wise to consult a legal professional to be very certain about the legality of your message, before you start your list building.

List Maintenance

Making a list is the easier part of list building. It is the maintenance that takes effort. Set some time aside for this important task every day. That way, you will keep a track of your list and stay on track.
Treat your list well and it will treat you well in turn. Build a rapport with your list members. Do not be too sale oriented. In fact, keep your sale pitch subtle. Follow these guidelines and build your internet business empire. Remember, list building goes a long way in helping you realize your dreams. So start making your list right away.

The Enticing World Of Display Stands

The advertising, marketing and business world in general are extremely fierce and stressful. Many exhibitions spend out on equipment, advertisement posters, and fill their display stands to the brim with leaflets, products and freebies.

Banners stands are amongst the most popular of all for use in trade show displays. These are usually pricey to design but are most effective for attracting potential clients - however, because they are popular, the competition becomes stiff and hence the race is on.

Business display stands are very specific to the theme of what they are advertising or marketing - most advertising strategies are based on subliminal messaging and/or psychology thus enticing people into approaching their business. The attraction comes from the logo which should stand out, and (if applicable) a slogan that is short and punchy enough for people to remember.

However, normal entertainment marketing displays use a different technique. The more conservative business world tend to gear towards keeping within the business world (again dependant on what kind of business this is), however, many people are familiar with posters advertising a film, event, new book, product, service etc. And will know that this type of advertising and marketing campaign bases its success/result on the visual.

Film releases are usually introduced through various methods, but to begin with they are advertises through posters and large public display stands (especially if it is a massive blockbuster potential). It then soon follows with hype promotions and trailers. Yet the displays prior to the hype is what holds the public attention - why is this? Because people are more likely to remember an image and associate that with the title. A striking picture is more likely to entice people into watching the movie, or possibly research the title.

Unfortunately, these displays are usually open to graffiti, destruction and vandalism. This is just down to luck, yet this surprisingly brings the attention of the public, as most often than none people are drawn to the image somehow no matter how badly the poster has been defaced (usually to work out what was being displayed).

Display stands are also a great way for smaller businesses to sell their products. Some shopping centres/malls have smaller stalls and stands that sell jewellery, bags, electrical goods, flowers/plants, clothing or even food. These are a great way of getting the brand name out and are a great way for the owners to interact with their customers. Having the stands organised in a way that makes the products stand out attracts customer's attentions and alleviates the difficulties in striking up a conversation.

However, some displays may advertise things that have nothing to do with the image. Again, this is cleverly using psychology to attract attention, no matter how irrelevant it is to the subject matter. This further proves the competitive nature of the business world and their race to make it to the top.

Each display is almost like a lifeline for launching new products and bringing in more clients. Hence the world of displays, no matter how frustrating they can be (especially if you see them at every corner of the street) are only going to improve and change in diverse and original ways.

Anna Stenning is an expert on display stands and is often observing how some businesses use different marketing or advertising methods. For more information on exhibition and display equipments visit http://www.displays-online.com/

Email Marketing Software is an Important Ingredient For Restaurants

Email marketing software might not make your food taste any better, however it will help pack your tables and your reservation list. In the fiercely competitive food service industry, it is very important that you market your restaurant to guarantee that customers are frequently dining at your establishment. But, for many restaurant owners, they have a hard time competing against the multi-million dollar marketing budgets of the major national franchises. However, a new weapon in the arsenal of restaurant owners has emerged that helps level the battle field. This new tool, which restaurant owners around the globe are starting to take advantage of, is simple and effective.

By harnessing the strength of email marketing, all restaurant owners can effortlessly execute top-notch campaigns with just a few clicks of their mouse. The days of hiring over-priced designers or absorbing costly printing fees for conventional flyer campaigns are finally a thing of the past.

Establishments of all kinds have all started understanding the value of collecting customers' email addresses, allowing them to follow-up with their clientele with the idea of bringing them back into the restaurant. From fast-food to upscale restaurants, asking for your customers email address in the way of a signup sheet by the cash register or comment card on the table is no longer the least bit invasive and is the initial step towards powering your. While your restaurant may not manufacture an extensive contact list overnight, after a few weeks of assertively gathering contact information, you will have enough data to upload into your email marketing software and to start reaping all the benefits.

The majority of email marketing solutions will allow you to easily add your contacts online. In addition, the top tier email marketing software programs will allow you to partition your data into different groups. With this ability, you can now separate your contacts by meal times (for example, lunch vs. dinner) which lets run a specifically targeted email marketing campaign.

Once you have successfully put together your establishments contact list (which is an on-going process) you can commence with your creative and marketing juices and run wild as you prepare to launch an email marketing campaign. A main reason that email marketing is very effective in the food services industry is because it lets the restaurant branch out and communicate with their customers in a face-to-face setting right in their inbox, and away from the mess of other mass medium platforms.

Restaurants can employ all kinds of promotions using simple and effective email marketing software. One of the most popular approaches is to send out an email marketing campaign with a coupon (often referred to as an "ecoupon"). The offer can range from a certain percentage off the customer's meal, a free desert, two-for-one dining, or anything else the restaurant owner believes will entice people to come in for another serving. The two-for-one dining is an effective strategy because the establishment is promoting both repeat business and new business in one swoop. And, of course, the new customer has the chance to sign up to the restaurant's mailing list, so they can now also receive these special email marketing ecoupons.

Email marketing can also be used to announce and promote new menu items, special events, catering options and more. Since the people receiving the restaurant's email have presumably already had a positive experience, the email marketing campaign provides an effective tool to keep the restaurant name on the clientele's map. After all, the more the restaurant can keep its brand in front of the customer, the higher the chance the restaurant is to be the answer to the question: "Honey, where do you want to go for dinner?"

When engaging in email marketing, every restaurant can obtain a competitive advantage without the need to break the bank. And, in this day and age, where every restaurant is competing for the same customer's dollar, any and all forms of an advantage is a solid ingrediant when aiming at leveling the playing field between the big national chains and the smaller independent restaurants.

How To Impress Potential Business Investors

In order to win over any potential investors for funding your business you have to impress them with your business acumen and not try to dazzle them with exaggerated information. In most instances for every goal you present their response is going to be asking how you are going to achieve that step. This will continue through every step of the process until they are satisfied that your business proposal is sound and that you can meet the goals established.

Most investors are savvy in the ways of business and can quickly see right through hyperbole and hopes. They may agree with you potential on the surface but they are gong to need reassurances that if they put their money into your business plan their investment won't be dashed along with your hopes. They will be looking for contingencies if the roadmap you present in the form of a business plan runs into a dead end street.

Establishing bullet points and datelines for each goal to be met will be a good starting point on your business plan, but will nothing to impress investors. They not only want to see what the goals are that have been established, they want to see how you plan to meet each goal. Any steps along the way will also have to be explained as well as contingency plans in the event that one of the steps is not made.

In addition to your business plan there are two other things investors want to see including your attitude and the product or service. Even with the best business plan if the product has a very limited customer potential base, and lacks the possibility for repeat business most investors will not look upon your plan favorably. A few investors may be in it for a short term profit spree others will be in a project for a long run hoping to realize as much profit as possible. It will up to you and your products potential to impress them with the long-range goals and profit potential to even get their attention.

Your attitude will also be a key to unlocking investment funds. If you walk into a meeting with potential investors with a negative attitude, chances are their response will match your attitude. Showing enthusiasm for the product or service will indicate to the investors that you believe in your product and are willing to stake your future on the future of the company you are trying to create.

Be prepared to discuss your person experience and expertise with the type of business you want to start as well as your personal stake in the process. You will have to document everything you tell them and by being prepared to answer any question they may ask about you, the product and company without having to promise to get back to them with an answer, will go a long way towards impressing your investors.

Email Marketing Software Empowers Businesses with eCoupons

Email marketing software has long been admired for its usefulness to assist businesses keep in touch with their customers, enhance their brand, and boost traffic to their website, store or event. However many online retailers are quickly realizing that eCoupons are the hidden gem of email marketing.

With fierce competition for the consumer's spending dollar, eCoupons allows both small and large businesses harness the power of email marketing to directly increase purchases from their online customer base.

If you visit any shopping mall you will see numerous window advertisements displaying "Inventory Clearance", "Big Sales", "Reduced Prices" and many more enticing business moves to draw in customers. The World renowned retailer, Wal-Mart, has accomplished great success with their "price rollback" marketing campaign. This time-after-time proves that, in the area of consumer psychology, people love any and all forms of discounts and every chance at a good deal. But, why should the advertisements of sales or discounts only be restricted to the offline world, when the online economy is exploding with just as many or more stores?

Many online stores have inquired about that exact question and have come to the understanding that it is completely foolish to ignore a sound marketing strategy as soon as you shift into the online business world. If special promotions can drive foot-traffic, then they can absolutely increase web traffic as well.

Large quantities of online retailers have begun using email marketing software to ease the transition into the online business world. They can start advertising online promotions that rival not only their direct competitors but also the industry leaders.

Since email marketing software is very simple to use and extremely affordable, it provides a level playing field between small and large online businesses. Needless to say, an online business with a marketing budget that Amazon has would vastly surpass that of the smaller online retailer. However that does nor mean smaller online businesses can't employ their own strategic promotions to compete with those of their larger counterparts.

With the correct email marketing software any and all small online retailers can put forward a professionally designed email marketing campaign that is as easy as only a few clicks of the mouse and at a cost of less than a penny per target. There are no ridiculous restrictions or excessive lead times necessary as the businessperson is only limited by his or her own strategic prowess.

A superb benefit of using email marketing to distribute eCoupons and to advertise other promotions is that everything is entirely measurable. After all, if you are unable to gauge the success of your efforts, then how can you determine if it was effective?

Unlike conventional paper coupons that are expensive to track, most top-notch email marketing software programs will provide for you free real-time reports on how your campaign is running. Picture being able to see, within seconds of sending your email, the number of people who have opened it or clicked on a link to redeem your coupon? With this knowledge at your fingertips, you can learn and therefore improve on your future email marketing campaigns. You will be able to determine if some eCoupons work better than others, or maybe sending your promotion at a specific time or day produces better results.

One aspect is definite, in a day and age where knowledge is power, knowing what eCoupons produce the greatest ROI will let you maximize each promotional dollar you spend.

With the increased number of businesses starting to send out eCoupons and online promotions, it is increasingly important for all online businesses to start compiling their customer email databases, this way they do not fall too far behind. The quicker you employ email marketing software as an ingredient of your marketing mix, the quickest you will be able to level the playing field and see how eCoupons will benefit your online business.

Magic Headline Words And Phrases For Your Campaigns - Part 1

Many people underestimate the importance of headlines when composing web pages, newsletters, email campaigns and any other type of advertising. If a person is to read your web page the headline is what grabs them in and gives them the interest to start reading. If it's an email campaign of newsletter then the headline is what gets the prospective reader to open the message in the first place. If your headline doesn't appeal to them or at least attract their attention then, with the amount of messages most people are bombarded with every day, for sure your page will not be read or your email opened. Here are some phrases and words which grab attention or hold interest.

How To...
A "How To.." headline always grabs your prospect's attention because it tells them they are about to learn something new that could be of benefit to their lifestyle. This type of headline should get their attention and boost your email campaign. It's job is to indicate how to get their benefit cheaper, sooner, easier, etc.
Here's an Example: "How To Get Rid Of Your Debts In 6 Months Or Less!"

Unlock...
An "Unlock..." is a headline that grabs your prospect's attention because it's indicating this information is locked up and when something is locked-up it's perceived as having more value. Your product is the key that's going to unlock the benefit for them and this can only benefit to your email campaign.
For Example: "Unlock The Secrets Of Affiliate Marketing Success!"

Discover...
The "Discover..." headline gets your prospect's attention because it gives the headline a sense of adventure. It's just like in a story when someone discovers a lost island or a hidden treasure. Boost the results of your email campaign with this. People are suckers for a good story.
Example: "Discover the Hidden Niches That The Gurus Don't Want You To Know"

Exposed...
This sounds as though somebody was trying to hide something. Your prospects will always want to know what was being covered up and why. This works on the principle of people love to gossip.
A good example would be: "Million Dollar Affiliate Tricks Exposed!"

Explained...
An "...Explained" headline grabs your prospect's attention because it gives them a clear picture of a benefit they may not understand how to get. If there is something you don't understand and it could be of benefit to you, you'd want it explained wouldn't you?
Example: "Top Google SEO Strategies Explained!"

Breaking News...
Breaking news usually happens when it's really important and people are always interested in "The Latest" and usually can't wait until the normal news time. This type of headline is meant to make people stop what they're doing and take notice of the Latest News.
A good Example would be: "Breaking News! California Housewife Breaks The Bank With Google Adwords!"

Inside Secrets...
An "Inside Secrets..." headline demands attention because your prospects will feel that if they learn more information they'll belong to a select, privileged group of people. This is the "Club" mentality you're appealing to. It also adds a rareness to your product. Rare is always valuable. I have had several successful email campaigns using this phraseology.
Example: "The Inside Secrets Of Housewife Millionaires !"

Magic...
Very useful because it's almost everyone's fantasy is to have a magic tool or formula that will instantly give them their desires. People will always want to get their desired benefits with little or no effort. Magic implies easy and effective email campaigns have used this in headline for years. It's very effective.
For Example: "Awesome New Opt In Box Converts Like Magic"

Finally...
A "Finally..." Implies that the prospects search is over. They have been looking for this magic formula or that really cheap website maker and "Finally" they have come to the right place.
A Good Example is:
"Finally! An Acne Cream That Really Gets Rid Of Zits"

Guaranteed
This headline is very valuable and your email campaign will always benefit from using this because in the Prospects eyes you are guaranteeing the product and this removes risk which is a very strong emotion. Your prospects can allow themselves to get interested because even if they buy they know they have nothing to lose. It makes the most unbelievable headlines seem believable and true.
Example: "20,000 Web Site Visitors In One Week... Guaranteed!"

Time Sensitive...
The "Time Sensitive!..." headline is always just placed in front of the prospects desired benefit so they know they need to promptly read your ad. People hate to think that they may miss out on your time sensitive offer.
Example: "Time Sensitive! 10 Ways To Reduce Your Household Bills!"

The Importance of Using Ezines as a Marketing Tool

Solo Entrepreneurs and Coaches are often stumped when it comes to marketing their business online. They want to build a relationship with prospects in the hopes that they eventually become regular customers. They also need a tool that requires little if any technical expertise, and is cheap, reliable and fast. One of the best ways to solve this problem is to build that relationship with the list by sending them a regular Ezine.

An ezine is a fancy term for an email newsletter. You are probably already receiving ezines in your inbox, some you read, and others you delete in a flash. It can be as simple as a Tip of the Week, or you can be more creative and create a special template with your picture and logo. Both techniques work well.

There are many reasons for a business or entrepreneur to send out a regular ezine, because it is a powerful, cheap and very effective tool to connect with customers/clients. An ezine can also help you to spread the word about your business, help your customers get to know you and sell your products/services.

The key to sending out a successful and well read ezine is to keep it Simple, Interesting and Informative. Your clients subscribe for a good reason, they want information that is useful and helpful in building their business. Make sure you send it out on a regular basis, every week, or every 2 weeks works well. The more you connect with your clients, the more they get to know, trust and like you, which means they are more likely to buy from you

Top 7 Reasons to publish a regular Ezine:

1. You need to be constantly building a herd (otherwise know as a list of potential customers). You cannot afford to stop going for new business. An ezine allows you to get to more people and encourages subscribers to Tell a friend, thereby expanding your network.

2. An ezine also helps you to promote and sell products, bootcamps, mentorships etc.

3. Publishing an ezine positions YOU as an EXPERT in your field

4. An ezine is a perfect way to stay in touch with your clients and prospects on a regular basis. Most people need to be touched at least seven times before they buy from you. An ezine allows you to reach that goal

5. Lets you spread the word about your business. If you write an interesting, informational ezine, people naturally pass it on to friends and colleagues, they do the hard work for you!

6. Ideal way to CAPTURE email addresses of your WEB visitors. Invite browsers to sign up for a FREE ezine, and hey presto you have a new lead.

7. Cheap and easy to publish, especially compared to a print newsletter. There are no postage or printing costs involved. You can even type it up wearing your pjs in bed!

Did you know on average, that you have to contact a prospect at least 7 times before they will buy from you? An ezine makes this relationship building easy for you.

There are plenty of great, affordable tools online to create professional looking ezines, so start writing to your list and build that lucrative relationship.

Can You Earn A Living With Craigslist?

Can you earn a living with Craigslist? The short answer is, yes, you certainly can. Indeed, if you're an entrepreneur who is willing to work hard, there are plenty of opportunities on Craigslist for you to market yourself and your products or skills to those who need them. And unlike a conventional job, where you are given a set salary for the services you offer, you have no such limits on your income if you are an independent contractor. The drawback to this is, of course, that you don't have a guarantee of income, unlike a salaried job.

There are basically two ways you can make a living with Craigslist. One is that you can offer services as an independent contractor, or you can offer products or services as a small-business owner. You can also use Craigslist to get a permanent full-time job or a part-time job through Craigslist's jobs section. In this article, we will discuss what types of opportunities exist for small business owners and independent contractors on Craigslist.

Using Craigslist for independent contractors

If you offer your services as an independent contractor on Craigslist, this can be an excellent opportunity, because many will see your ad and can respond to it if they are seeking your type of services. In fact, there's a lot of work that's being outsourced both by large businesses and small. This means that there is an opportunity for these businesses to take advantage of outsourcing sources. Independent contractors can use Craigslist to find these opportunities by placing ads for services offered and by responding to ads for those who want contract employees.

In addition, Craigslist specifically offers a section for those who want to place ads for services offered. Under this section, you can offer services under a number of different categories. As an independent contractor, you can place a posting under the most appropriate category to reach a particular target audience. If you are a small-business owner, you can also place an advertisement in that particular category if you can't find another category for the type of service you want to offer. However, keep in mind that if you place your ad in a general category, it's probably going to be more difficult to reach your target audience.

As an independent contractor, you can also find business opportunities by responding to ads that seek contract employees on Craigslist. As you search for a job on Craigslist, you can start with a location and then browse through different types of job by category. The easiest way to find a contract position is to use the search feature and then check the contract box so that those types of jobs are included in your search criteria. This will help make sure that your search results return only contract positions.

Using Craigslist as a small-business owner

If you are a small business owner, you can also use Craigslist to reach your desired audience and grow your business. If you have a small business, you can especially use Craigslist to your advantage. The most obvious way to do this is to post an advertisement about your business in the appropriate category under the either "services" or "for sale" sections. This can be very effective, because Craigslist usually has more than four billion page views a month. This means that you can have a very large potential audience if you use Craigslist.

As a small-business owner, you can also use the discussion forums on Craigslist to gain customers for your business. However, make sure your promotions and discussion are not seen as spam. If you post information in a way that's informative to readers, that's fine, but don't simply spit out useless posts whose sole purpose is to promote your business. Spamming is not only irritating to readers, but it makes it very likely that Craigslist moderators will at least delete your posts, and maybe even act more severely against you.

Maintenance of the list and its regular service poses a daily challenge.
The most seasoned internet business men acknowledge that they face difficulties from time to time. These problems can frustrate even the most optimistic amongst them. Their patience can be tested to its limit. Their will power can be shaken at times.

However, each one of them is successful because he/she has learnt how to overcome these challenges and take them in their stride. It is this quality that is required for being successful- whether in list building, or in money making.

Difficult Customers

It is understood that list building is essential for marketing your product. It is also understood that at times you will encounter difficult customers on your list. It is further understood that successful marketers do not get perturbed by these problems. Now the question arises, why not? Competition Within The Market

The biggest challenge comes from the competition within the internet marketing community. This fierce competition can tempt you to follow unethical list building practices. If you get tempted now, you can be certain of your fall. Never lose sight of the fact that no one can become successful by spamming. In any case, spamming is against the law. You may probably lose your entire list if you are found guilty of this heinous act. So overcome this temptation. Never ever spam. Do not consider spamming as an option for yourself. Just be honest and incorporate your list building efforts into whatever it is that you are currently doing. If you have done your niche research, it should not be too difficult for you.

Have faith in yourself and your product.

Always remember that your product should satisfy a long term need in people. Do your list building with a long haul in mind. Treat your subscribers like royalty. Longevity of your niche makes your business viable. Once you learn the tricks of the trade, the rest follows naturally. Search Engine Optimization

Why Adsense Is The Right Choice For Content Based Sites

To make a decision whether Adsense is the best choice for monetizing your site you must first understand how Adsense works.

The concept is really simple, if you think about it. The publisher or the webmaster inserts a java script into a certain website. Each time the page is accessed, the java script will pull advertisements from the Adsense program. The ads that are targeted should therefore be related to the content that is contained on the web page serving the ad. If a visitor clicks on an advertisement, the webmaster serving the ad earns a portion of the money that the advertiser is paying the search engine for the click.

The search engine is the one handling all the tracking and payments, providing an easy way for webmasters to display content-sensitive and targeted ads without having the hassle to solicit advertisers, collect funds, monitor the clicks and statistics which could be a time-consuming task in itself. It seems that there is never a shortage of advertisers in the program from which the search engine pulls the Adsense ads. Also webmasters are less concerned by the lack of information search engines are providing and are more focused in making cash from these search engines.

The first reason why Adsense is essential for content sites is because it already has come a long way in understanding the needs of publishers and webmasters. Together with its continuous progression is the appearance of more advanced system that allows full ad customization. Webmasters are given the chance to choose from many different types of text ad formats to better complement their website and fit their webpage layout.

The different formatting enables the site owners the possibility of more click through from visitors who may or may not be aware of what they are clicking on. It can also appeal to the people visiting thus make them take that next step of looking up what it is all about. This way the people behind the Adsense will get their content read and making profit in the process.

The second reason is the ability of the Adsense publishers to track not only how their sites are progressing but also the earnings based on the webmaster-defined channels. The recent improvements in the search engines gives webmasters the capability to monitor how their ads are performing using customizable reports that has the capacity to detail page impressions, clicks and click-through rates. Webmasters and publishers can now track specific ad formats, colors and pages within a website. Trends are also easily spotted.

With the real-time reporting at hand, the effectiveness of the changes made will be assessed quickly. There would be time to sort out the contents that people are making the most clicks on. The ever-changing demands would be met while generating cash for the webmasters and publishers. The more flexible tools are also allowing webmasters to group web pages by URL, domain, ad type or category, which will provide them some accurate insight on which pages, ads and domains are performing best.

The last and final reason is that the advertisers have realized the benefits associated having their ads served on targeted websites. Thus increasing the possibility that a prospective web surfer will have an interest in their product and services. All because of the content and its constant maintenance. As opposed to those who are no using Adsense in their sites, they are given the option of having other people do their content for them, giving them the benefit of having successful and money-generating web sites.

Adsense is all about targeted content, the more targeted your content is, the more target the search engines ads will be. There are some web masters and publishers who are focused more on their site contents and how best to maintain them rather than the cash that the ads will generate for them. This is the part where the effectiveness is working its best.

There was a time when people were not yet aware of the money to be achieved from advertisements. The cash generated only came into existence when the webmasters and publishers realized how they can make Adsense be that generator. In those days, the content were the most important factors that is taken quite seriously. It still is. With the allure of money, of course.

Use Free Methods To Generate Traffic For Your Website

Putting up a company would of course require a lot of things, to get straight to the point, you need a capital. To make money requires money as well. But of course, with the versatility the internet offers, there are many ways you could find that could help optimize the potential of your site or business in generating traffic.

While there are ways to jumpstart your traffic flows, many sites don't have the resources that others have to generate more traffic for your site. Well, you don't have to spend a cent; all you need is the proper mindset and a lot of eagerness. You also must have the drive and perseverance to do hard work and research to generate more traffic for your site.

How sweet it is to have more traffic for your site without spending a single cent. Now it's a sure thing that many sites have articles that offer tips and guidelines in how to generate traffic using only free methods. Because it is possible, you don't need to speed a single cent, it may take time, to say honestly, I'm not going to beat around the bush with you. You get better chances by paying for your advertisements, but at least you get a fighting chance with some of these free methods I'm about to tell you.

Take advantage of online forums and online communities. The great thing about forums and online communities is that you can target a certain group that fits the certain demographic that you are looking for. You can discuss about lots of things about the niche that you represent or offer. Another great advantage is that you know what you are getting into and you will be prepared.

With online communities and forums you can build a reputation for your company. Show them what you are made of and wow them with your range of expertise about the subject, with that you can build a reputation and build trust with the people in your expertise and knowledge.

You can also make use of newsletters. Provide people with a catalog of your products and interesting and entertaining articles. If you make it really interesting and entertaining, more people will sign up for your newsletter and recommend it to other people. The more people who signs up for your newsletter, the more people there will be that will go to your site increasing your traffic.

Another great idea is trading links with other sites. You don't have to spend a cent. All you have to do is reach an agreement with another webmaster. With exchanging links, the efforts both sites do will benefit both sites. Every traffic that goes to the site could potentially click on the link of your site and visit your site as well. This works well especially when both sites feature the same niche.

Write articles that could pique the attention of people that have interest in your product. Try writing articles that will provide tips and guides to other aficionados. Writing articles that provide good service and knowledge to other people would provide the necessary mileage your traffic flow needs.

Many sites offer free submission and posting of your articles. When people find interest in your articles they have a good chance of following the track by finding out where the article originated. Include a link or a brief description of your company with the article and there's a great probability that they will go to your site.

Write good content for your site. Many search engines track down the keywords and keyword phrases your site uses and how they are used. It is not a requirement that a content should be done by a professional content writer. You could do your on but you have to make content for your site that is entertaining as well as informational. It should provide certain requirements as well as great quality.

Generally, internet users use search engines to find what they are looking for. Search engines in return use keyword searching in aiding their search results. With the right keywords, you could get high rankings in search engine results without the costs.

All of these methods and more will drive more traffic to your site for free. All it takes is a bit of effort and extended man hours. Learn all you can about the methods depicted here and you will soon have a site with a great traffic flow without the usual costs that come with it.

Be Careful Not To Get Your Adsense Account Terminated Due To Click Fraud

Many webmasters have had their Google Adsense account terminated when they have done nothing wrong to their knowledge. Considering the money that they are getting from Adsense, they would certainly want to get back into it.

Considering the money to be made with Adsense, it is no wonder that they would want to get back into it.

It is that same consideration why the Google Adsense click fraud is thought of and why many people are getting into it.

Click fraud is the act of clicking on ads for the purpose of costing the advertiser money. It is simply the same as paying out cash for false leads. Many people website owners are aware of this fraud and are sharing the same sentiment that this is the one big problem that Adsense is facing.

How do you prevent being involved in this fraud?

Majority of web hosts are offering access logs. Once this is offered to you, it is necessary that you hand it over to Google as well. This allows them to look for any suspicious activity on your site. Problems like this are very serious and giving it to them is saying that you would want to help them in any way you can in solving the problem.

It can also help if you have a click monitoring software. If you do not have one yet, you should try and get one. There is absolutely no major factor preventing you from having one because most of this software is free.

As usual, all the information you have received should be turned over to Google. This is showing Google that you too are fighting against click frauds and is in no way a part of it.

Study your server logs and watch for any activity that seems suspicious. Report anything that you may find odd, may it big or small thing.

You may want to consider disabling ads for your own IP address and local geographic area. This will certainly prevent accidents and will not make Google mistake another user as you. You can do through a htaccess file. This will avoid Google mistaking as clicking on your own ads and be kicked out because of it.

Keep your Adsense off on pop ups and pop unders. Your ads should not be displayed on content sites that promote illegal activity or tampering of the legal rights of other people or business. Included in this are the content that is considered adult and gambling ones. If you think that you may be breaking this rule, immediately remove your content or Adsense from the web page.

Be truthful and confess up to Google about times when you might have clicked on your own as, whether accidentally or intentionally. Or the times when you have done something that is against the Terms of Service that they are implementing. Be honest about anything that you may have done that is wrong. Confessing is way better than Google learning about it eventually. It would mean eventual termination and no getting back what you have worked so hard for.

Do not tell your family or friends about Adsense on your website. Chances are they may start clicking on them to help you make money without you knowing it. They may be doing more harm to you than help by trying it in the first place.

If ever someone you know chanced upon your Adsense, make sure they understand that they cannot click on your ads under any circumstances. It would be wise to brief them on important things about Adsense and what not to do with them.

Most pay per click networks have different measures in hand to protect website owners against click frauds. Other search engines can track more than 50 data points, IP address, browser's information, users session info and pattern recognition. They also have systems available that detects fraud. Not to mention the specialized teams monitoring how things are going and helping advertisers stop click frauds.

Google offers suggestion on how to avoid click fraud. Using negative keywords can be used to keep your Adsense showing on products and services that are in no way related to yours. Adding tracking URLs to your links so you can track the traffic coming from Google.

Do not be caught in the Google click fraud. Be aware and be wary.

Tip #1: Create multiple profiles.

-Do not simply create one, singular MySpace profile and then expect miracles. MySpace works through Attraction Marketing; that means that you need to make people like you. Creating multiple user profiles increases your odds of being liked.

Tip #2: Do not violate the MySpace user policies.

-If you want to excel at MySpace advertising, then you have to make as many of those 200 million+ others users like you. When they become your MySpace friends, then your marketing attempts are not spam. Do not try to sell them products or services on your profile pages; just make them like you.

Tip #4: Keep your profile pages professional.

-Make them fun. Make them cool. Just keep them professional. Remember that the reason that you are on the site is to earn CASH! Do get wrapped up in the MySpace realm and forget that you are not there to really make cyber-friends. You are a businessperson an Internet marketer. Keep your pages real and keep them professional.

Tip #5: Create blogs and videos about yourself.

-Remember that you are at MySpace to generate leads and sales. You need for the masses of people there to like you to want to be your "friend". Show them yourself. Tell them about yourself. Once they get to know and trust you, you will have an easy time converting them into paying consumers. That's the goal!

MySpace can make you loads of cash. It's true! Just remember the rules of marketing first as you engage the site. There are a lot of interesting people there. It is easy to get distracted. You have to have a good plan and stick to it. Otherwise, you might find yourself making a lot of friends that you'll never really meet and making no money.

Unconventional Ways To Improve Your Earnings With Google Adsense

If webmasters want to monetize their websites, the great way to do it is through Adsense. There are lots of webmasters struggling hard to earn some good money a day through their sites. But then some of them are enjoying hundreds of dollars a day from Adsense ads on their websites. What makes these webmasters different from the other kind is that they are different and they think out of the box.

The ones who have been there and done it have quite some useful tips to help those who would want to venture into this field. Some of these tips have boosted quite a lot of earnings in the past and is continuously doing so.

Here are some 5 proven ways on how best to improve your Adsense earnings.

1. Concentrating on one format of Adsense ad. The one format that worked well for the majority is the Large Rectangle (336X280). This same format have the tendency to result in higher CTR, or the click-through rates. Why choose this format out of the many you can use? Basically because the ads will look like normal web links, and people, being used to clicking on them, click these types of links. They may or may not know they are clicking on your Adsense but as long as there are clicks, then it will all be for your advantage.

2. Create a custom palette for your ads. Choose a color that will go well with the background of your site. If your site has a white background, try to use white as the color of your ad border and background. The idea to patterning the colors is to make the Adsense look like it is part of the web pages. Again, This will result to more clicks from people visiting your site.

3. Remove the Adsense from the bottom pages of your site and put them at the top. Do not try to hide your Adsense. Put them in the place where people can see them quickly. You will be amazed how the difference between Adsense locations can make when you see your earnings.

4. Maintain links to relevant websites. If you think some sites are better off than the others, put your ads there and try to maintaining and managing them. If there is already lots of Adsense put into that certain site, put yours on top of all of them. That way visitor will see your ads first upon browsing into that site.

5. Try to automate the insertion of your Adsense code into the webpages using SSI (or server side included). Ask your web administrator if your server supports SSI or not. How do you do it? Just save your Adsense code in a text file, save it as adsense text, and upload it to the root directory of the web server. Then using SSI, call the code on other pages. This tip is a time saver especially for those who are using automatic page generators to generate pages on their website.

These are some of the tips that have worked well for some who want to generate hundreds and even thousands on their websites. It is important to know though that ads are displayed because it fits the interest of the people viewing them. So focusing on a specific topic should be your primary purpose because the displays will be especially targeted on a topic that persons will be viewing already.

Note also that there are many other Adsense sharing the same topic as you. It is best to think of making a good ad that will be somewhat different and unique than the ones already done. Every clickthrough that visitors make is a point for you so make every click count by making your Adsense something that people will definitely click on.

Tips given by those who have boosted their earnings are just guidelines they want to share with others. If they have somehow worked wonders to some, maybe it can work wonders for you too. Try them out into your ads and see the result it will bring.

If others have done it, there is nothing wrong trying it out for yourself.

Why Not Make Your Banner Ads Actually Clickable?

Why not use reverse psychology in your banner ads. You could tell people not to click on your banner ad. For example, you could have: "Don't Click Here If You Are Happy with Your Looks." Another example would be: "Stop! Don't Click Here Unless You're Filthy Rich!"

Make your banner ad words as attractive and alluring as possible. Think of words like "hot", "ultimate", "sizzling", "powerful", etc. Your words have to relate to and also highlight your complete offer. You can also use very specific words. For example you could say, "Click NOW To Increase Your Traffic By 300%!"

You can always offer your prospects a monthly installment plan. Tell them they can pay with easy monthly payments. For example, you could say, "You Can Own Our New Website Builder With 4 Easy Payments Of $29!" A pretty cool idea would be to cut out one of those payments later on in your ad copy.

You can sometimes use a good guarantee on your banner. You could even include the guarantee as a headline for your offer. It might read "Twice your Money Back Guarantee!", "Your One Year Money Back Guarantee!", etc. If you're including bonuses then you could also say, "Keep Your Bonus Software Even If You Ask For A Refund!"

Why not sometimes considering a discount offer on your banner? People are always looking for great deals. You can offer a percentage discount, dollar discount, "buy one get one free" discount, etc. An example would be "Get 40% Off Our Shocking E-book - What the Gurus Aren't Telling You!"

Now and again why not advertise a trial or sample offer. This will tell people there is no risk or obligation if they click on your banner ad and it takes the 'fear' out of it. They feel safe clicking on your banner and trying out your service or product. For example, why not say, "FREE Trial Version of the Software" Another example would be "Free Trial Membership for Seven Days"

Always let people know the major benefit of your Product, Website or Service on your banner ad. People need this spelled out for them even if you're selling Diet pills you still have to show them a benefit even if You think it's obvious. It could be benefits like "save money", "make money", "increase energy", "lose weight", "save time", etc. A great example would be, "Lose 25 Pounds In One Month Guaranteed!" Another example, "Make $300 In One Day Easily!"

Always tell people to click on your banner ad. It's a "Call To Action" and a lot of people will automatically do as they're told. Also new people to the Internet might not even know they can click on the banner. Simply having the phrase "Click here" on the banner will definitely increase your click-thrus. You can experiment with making it a stronger order or command like "Click Here NOW! or "Click Here Before It's Gone!"

Periodically advertise a Free Offer on your banner ad. People always love free stuff. The freebie obviously need to relate to your target market. If the freebie is attractive to them of course they will click on the banner. I would possibly say, "Free Members Forum" or "Free Website Tips E-book!" or "Free 20 lesson course in Real Estate Investing"

How To Get The Most From An Exhibition

Exhibition stand designers are a law unto themselves. While having a stock of standard display equipment, they also have to come up with completely innovative ideas for every client.

An exhibition or trade show is the ultimate place for a company to drum up new business. They can take their products out to the customers and with the help of exhibition stand designers, display these products to their full effect for maximum sales.

The right exhibition stand can draw potential customers in with designs that are eye catching but promote the product to be sold rather that draw attention away from it.

On the reverse, the wrong exhibition display stand, whether it be a shoddy throw-together or just badly designed by inept exhibition display designers will have a negative effect on sales. You may have the product from heaven but all businesses know that marketing is everything and the right impression has to be created to surround the product.

Trade shows are a veritable hotbed of competition for exhibition stand designers. Rivalry between companies exhibiting at these shows is rife and the heat is on for exhibition stand designers to come up with the goods. A display to create the right ambience and entice the customer is called for.

Many different products are marketed at exhibitions and trade shows and all call for a different approach from exhibition stand designers. Some people are purely there to distribute information, such as holiday exhibitions. Simple stand designs that allow easy manoeuvrability for the users and customers are essential. But for one company to shine above the others their display needs to have that edge.

Staying with the example of a holiday exhibition you would expect the stands to be bright, but picture a complicated layout with lots of bright colours filled with busy looking travel brochures? This would prove far too much of a headache to stand around in for too long and is unlikely to make your outlay for the stand position worthwhile.

Now picture the same exhibition with a simple yet tasteful exhibition stand that, as opposed to being cluttered, allowed for a comfortable seating area and maybe a place to stand your sangria. The customer's relaxation and comfort will give them plenty of time to consider what you have for sale. It will also provide a much needed rest as some of these shows can be very tiring while you are walking around all day looking for the ultimate bargain.

The last exhibition I personally attended was a diving exhibition. Jam packed with diving equipment and accessories, some stands were virtually impossible to negotiate and I soon learnt to steer clear of these ones. One stand selling wetsuits had a changing room that looked like it had been knocked up on the back of a market stall. Not the best selling point!

I was, however, drawn to the ones where I could clearly see what was being offered for sale, that had room to manoeuvre and where you could easily identify the staff.

If you are taking part in an exhibition, whether it be photography, diving, wedding, holiday or any other subject, take a look around and objectively look at what customers appear to be drawn to. If you don't wish to learn by the 'suck it and see' method, employ a reliable exhibition stand designer.

80% Increase In Your Sales!

Be honest. The reason you are reading this article is because you want to increase your sales by no less than 80%! The headline grabbed your attention and pulled you in. Two things probably went through your mind as you glanced at this headline. The first thing is that you expect to increase your sales. From there you begin to imagine all the benefits you'd receive from those increased sales - greater finances, and an improvement in your quality of living.

A headline is more than just a descriptive title. Research shows that 80% of what you are trying to convey in a sales letter can be expressed in a well written headline. The other 20% of your message is spent in supporting or giving the details of that headline. It then becomes clear that beginning with the right headline increases the effectiveness of your sales letter by 80%.

Most individuals are not just looking for facts and statistics. They are searching for solutions to issues that involve their daily lives. Superficial information does not have the same effect on emotions that information that offers personal improvement does. A good headline can point the way to something that can bring gain or prevent loss. The headline, - 80% Increase In Your Sales!- promises more than an increase in sales. It can be the long sought after solution to a troubled financial situation.

A compelling heading will greatly increase your success in any type of marketing media. Whether you are emailing a potential client, posting an ad in the paper, adding to your web page, or writing an article, a convincing headline will encourage your reader to explore the possibilities you are offering.

There are some effective tools you can use to write some very persuasive headlines.

One tool is swipe filing. Swipe filing is creating templates from the files of well known and acknowledged headlines. These are some you may be familiar with:

Are You Too Busy _____ To _____?

Free _____ Reveals How To _____.

Free Report - How To _____

Who Else Wants a _____ In Just _____ Minutes a Day?

How Any _____ With _____ Can Benefit From A Little-Known, _____ Secret.

Look for headlines in books of famous headlines or watch for them on line. Once you've built up a collection of headlines, all that is necessary to create a great headline is to choose the appropriate template and fill in the blanks with your own information.

Other headlines that would have been equally effective for the title of this article:

"An Amazing Discovery Tripled My Conversions"

"The Midas Touch That Turned My Sales Letter Into A Golden Goose."

"What You Can Do TODAY To Turn Lackluster Sales Copy Into Cash Delivering Machines!"

Another useful tool is creative brainstorming. Start by listing all the benefits and features of the product or concept you are offering. Focus on those that will have the greatest impact on peoples lives, and then sum them up in single sentences. Write twenty different headlines and then choose the one you feel best describes what you are offering.

With this knowledge you should be able to come up with some powerful headlines, bringing more attention to yourself and to your product. Now it's time to go out and bring in that increase.

Two Examples of the Damage Done by Poor Local Web Site Marketing

Local businesses are losing sales by not taking advantage of the Web as a sales tool. This conclusion is based on two recent personal experiences which, in my mind, highlight how woefully inadequate most local businesses are at using the Web as a marketing medium.

I am researching gas and electric fireplaces for my home out in the country. A very large retailer in Nashville who I thought sold fireplaces has no search engine visibility and almost no information about its fireplaces. If I did not already know about the company, I would not have looked at their web site to start with since it is not possible to find it in the search engines. As it turns out, I found out that this business stopped selling fireplaces two years ago, despite the fact that they are still shown on its web site.

So I continued my search. I only found a single local business online that had a reasonable number of the kind of product I was looking for. The store's web site is not attractive and has limited product information. It is an ecommerce-enabled site, but there is so little information about the products that I don't think any user would feel very comfortable placing an order online.

I cannot find a single business in Nashville that sells fireplaces that has a well-crafted web site with adequate information about its products. If there is such a business, it apparently has no search engine visibility. No visibility, no traffic. So I am being forced to physically visit random stores in hopes of finding what I want. If there was a single store in Nashville that sold fireplaces and that had a Web site that could be found in the search engines, that store would automatically get my business. It would be the easiest sale it ever made.

Here's another real life, personal example.

One weekend, not too long ago, I wanted to take my car somewhere to have a new stereo put in. My business is based in Nashville, but I live in a little town called Dickson, about an hour away from my office. There is no big chain store in my hometown to have such a service performed. So I did an online search for a car stereo retailer/installer in Dickson. I found two results. According to information I found, one of the businesses had a web site and a MySpace page. The other dealer had nothing other than an address in Google Local. Intuitively, you might think that I would automatically gravitate toward the business with the web site. But that was not the case.

When I tried to visit the business' web site, it appeared that the domain name had expired and had been purchased by someone who put up a generic web page with car stereo-related links. When I went to the store's MySpace page, I found a couple of quotes that said something about wanting my money. The impression I got from the MySpace page was very negative. I decided to do business with the other store - the one without any kind of Web presence.

Not having a web site is better than having one that makes people not want to do business with you. You can do more damage with bad online marketing than you can with no marketing at all. If you have a web site, you should inspect every word on every page to make sure you are getting the right message across. Does your marketing copy emphasize that you really care about your customers? Or does it relay the idea that you only care about extracting money from the pockets of your customers?

I should point out that I actually ended up doing business with the store that had the bad MySpace page because the other one had either gone out of business or is impossible to find. I guess it doesn't matter what kind of marketing you do if you're not open for business to start with. I found the store to be just fine, but their poor online marketing almost cost them a sale.

If you own a physical business that sells products locally, all you have to do to have a MAJOR advantage over your competition is put up a high quality web site where visitors can get lots of information about your products. If they can buy the products online, that's even better. Going back to my search for a fireplace, my sale alone would just about pay for a decent web site.

Local businesses need to also make sure to have their web sites built in a search engine-friendly manner. Ask your web site developer about this. If he is not experienced in SEO, either hire another designer or bring someone onboard who can work with your designer. Yes, it will cost some money, but it will be a very, very good thing for your business.

It seems that all a local business needs to do to gain a competitive advantage is to put up a search engine friendly web site. If you don't care enough about your business to take the Web seriously as a marketing medium, you may be paying for it by losing sales to your competitors.

Are There Any Major Benefits To E-Zine Article Writing?

The initial major benefit of E-zine article writing is you'll brand your web site, business and yourself by this method. You should always include your name, your credentials, business name, a relevant keyword link to your web site and and your email address in the resource box.

E-zine writers tend to become known as the expert on the topics they write about. This will give you a reputation and your business gains extra credibility which will help you sell more products than your competition.

There's a chance your E-zine article could also be placed on the publisher's home page, if only temporarily. Quite a lot of editors publish every issue of their E-zine on their home page this gives the article submitter some extra exposure.

Another benefit of e-zine article writing is you could also get extra exposure if the E-zine publisher archives their E-zine on their website. Lot's of people usually want to read some back issues of the E-zine before they make the decision to subscribe to it.

E-zine article writing is in effect free advertising. This allows you to spend your budget on other forms of advertising. You could even buy advertisements in other E-zines that don't happen to publish your articles.

You could well supplement your income by E-zine article writing as you become well known on your subject by people wanting to hire you to write other articles, ad copy, e-books, books, or even ask you to speak at Seminars. This is a great way to diversify/supplement your income.

Why not allow E-zine publishers to publish your articles in their free E-books, providing they include your resource box with your name and links in it. People give these E-books away and they can spread like wildfire if the content is good. This means your E-zine article or in other words advertising could be virally spread all over the internet.

Your articles could be published all over the internet when you submit it to an E-zine publisher that has a free article content directory on their web site. They'll allow their visitors to republish your E-zine article as long as resource boxes are left intact. The value this could also bring in back-links to your website is incalculable

If you do enough E-zine article writing and if your articles are of sufficient quality you'll gain people's trust and respect. If they read your article and like it, even if they haven't read one of your articles before, they will tend to have more trust and they won't be as hesitant to buy your service or product. These people are also much more likely to re-visit your website and buy again from you if you have other products in their line of interest. Repeat sales are always much easier to make than first time sales.

Quite a lot of E-zine Article writers also run their own E-zines so why not you? Then it's quite easy for you to get your article guaranteed to run in another E-zine. The idea is to agree to run one of their articles in your E-zine if, in exchange, they run your articles in their E-zine. It's a win/win situation, everyone gets published and your valuable reputation building and one way incoming link building is off to an easy start.

Advertising Strategies That Work

Advertising is a vital part of any successful business or campaign, but in a rapidly changing world, deciding on the best advertising strategy for your particular situation can be daunting. As our society becomes more and more technologically advanced, new advertising options crop up every day, and the most trusted methods of the past become tired and ineffective. With all of the different advertising choices to make, how can you be absolutely sure that the one you pick is going to be exactly what the doctor ordered?

Unfortunately, there is no magic crystal ball that you can use to ensure that you'll always purchase the most effective, affordable advertising for your project. But there are a few simple, common-sense tips that you can take to heart that will make it more likely that your advertising decisions will deliver and help you promote your project effectively.

Although it can often be tempting to veer off into different niches when searching for cost-effective advertising, it's good advice to stick within your realm. For example, if you are trying to advertise a website service, advertising on the Internet will probably be much more effective than advertising in the classifieds in the newspaper. Keep in mind, though, that the opposite isn't always true. With the popularity of the Internet soaring, you can find opportunities to buy advertising for any project you're trying to gain exposure for, and it will probably send you just as many clients as some of the larger print publications.

Regardless of what mode of advertising you choose, it's very important that you set a realistic budget and adhere strictly to the parameters that you set out for yourself. Launching a super-expensive, wide-reaching advertising campaign will be no good if you don't have operating funds to handle the rush of new business. Although it may be tempting to drain your bank account to advertise a new project, take a realistic, patient approach and plan on growing your advertising budget every month.

Besides, you'd be very surprised at just how effective even a small advertising campaign can be if you focus it in the proper areas and create truly effective ads. If you have some marketing skills, there's nothing wrong with designing your own ads, but never underestimate the value of a good, professional advertising person. They're more affordable than you probably think, and every medium-sized market usually has several professional advertising businesses that will be able to work closely with you to develop a great, affordable campaign.

To reiterate, make sure that you don't jump headfirst into an advertising campaign without taking some time to plan and create a budget. Doing so may end up making the difference between a failure and a success!

3 Easy Ways To Start In Affiliate Marketing

With the aid of the Internet, you can almost have everything right at your fingertips. With just a few clicks you get access to thousands and even millions of pieces of information and data on virtually any field of interest. As years pass by, the Internet continues to effect radical changes in many facets of human endeavors, including e-commerce. Experts say that the information space, commonly known as the "world wide web" grows by over a million pages everyday, as more and more people utilize the Internet for information, education, entertainment, business and other personal reasons. It doesn't take a business-oriented individual to realize that this phenomenon can bring about sky-high financial gains. The Internet's fast-growing popularity in the recent years is surely an opportunity for business that any entrepreneur would not want to miss.

You might be thinking only businessmen can make much money out of the Internet, don't you? Think again. You too can earn big bucks through the Internet even if you don't have products to sell and high-profile and established company. How? That is through affiliate marketing. You might have come across these words over the net while surfing. Affiliate marketing is revenue sharing between a merchant and an affiliate, who gets paid for referring or promoting the merchants' products and services. It is one of the burgeoning industries nowadays because it is proven to be cost-efficient and quantifiable means of attaining great profit both for the merchant and the affiliate and other players in the affiliate program, such as the affiliate network or affiliate solution provider.

Affiliate marketing works effectively for the merchant and the affiliate. T o the first, he gains opportunities to advertise his products to a larger market, which increases his chances to earn. The more affiliate websites or hard-working affiliates he gets, the more sales he can expect. By getting affiliates to market his products and services, he is saving himself time, effort and money in looking for possible markets and customers. When a client clicks on the link in the affiliate website, purchases the product, recommends it to others who look for the same item or buys it again, the merchant multiplies his chances of earning. On the other hand, the affiliate marketer benefits from each customer who clicks on the link in his website and who actually purchases the product or avails of the service provided by the merchant. In most cases, the affiliate gets commision per sale, which can be fixed percentage or fixed amount.

If you want to be an affiliate marketer and make fortunes out of the Internet, you may follow the following three most basic and easiest ways to start an effective affiliate marketing program. First is to identify a particular thing you are interested in or passionate about so you won't be bored and forced to develop your affiliate web site later on. Focusing on a specific area you know very well will help you bring out your best without much risks and effort. You can add a personal touch to your site and give your visitors who are possible buyers an impression that you are an expert in your field. In this way, you gain their trust and eventually encourage them to buy the products you endorse. Next is to look for good paying merchants and products or services related to your interest and create now a website. In choosing the products, you must also consider its conversion ratio, the number of visitors-turned-buyers. There are various affiliate networks and affiliate solution providers that can give you info on the most profitable products and best paying merchants. The key here is, be wise enough to choose the right one.

Now that you have decided where to concentrate, have chosen the products to endorse and the merchant you are supporting and have created your own web site with top level domain name and reliable hosting, you are ready to promote. This is a crucial task, since it is through this that you would be able to increase traffic to the business website, sales and of course, profit. In affiliate marketing, it is possible to earn large sums of money in a short span of time especially when you're endorsing high-priced items. Expensive products are hard to sell; however, with the right marketing strategies and sales techniques, you can draw visitors to the merchant's site and make them buy the products. How to promote the products, though, would need a separate discussion. Continue to educate yourself by reading books or other articles online about the best advertising techniques.

Keep in mind, there is no facile and quick path towards success. Affiliate marketing may seem very tempting due to numerous encouraging testimonies of merchants and affiliate marketers alike who have benefited from it, but it entails great deal of hard work and persistence. Likewise, you need to be creative, flexible and willing to embrace new ideas to market your partners' products until you find the perfect strategy that works for a specific market that you are targeting. Neither signing up for an affiliate program nor copying ads and leading others towards the merchants' site doesn't guarantee success yet. Many affiliate marketers fail to understand this, so when they don't make sales, they quit, look for other programs and repeat the same mistake. In the end, they conclude that affiliate marketing is just one of those scams in the Internet. Even as you sleep, you can work your way to great financial success if you employ the right strategies in affiliate marketing. Be creative, be smart and surely, you'll achieve your goals.

Email marketing now gives the entertainment industry that uses MySpace access to create, send, and track professional modern digital flyers and newsletters. Then, as the show date creeps up, they will take advantage of their email marketing program to blast out reminder messages, this way everyone knows the time is approaching and to mark it on their calendar, purchase tickets, and everything else they need to get in order to get to the show!

3. Keep Your Fans In The know
Most loyal fans are actively interested in your work, and any of your upcoming events. From the big news to the small rumblings, inviting your fans to become an intimate part of your legacy and to get any insider information helps form a remarkable bond. Many artists on MySpace refresh their profile on a regular basis, therefore their audience can continuously see fresh updated content. When using an email marketing program, you can guarantee that these updates reach your fans right in their inbox. Many artist use email marketing to send out a monthly (or even bi-weekly) newsletter, this keeps fans up to date on all the latest happenings. A handful of artist have even included a "Question From The Fans" section in their newsletter, where they publish a question that was inquired about through the previous issue. This type of email marketing, which is stuffed with unique quality content and involves your fans in a two-way conversation, is a superb way to build that special bond.

With intense competition to get noticed, turning to email marketing can provide your MySpace profile an advantage and give you that extra edge.

Generate Leads Through Traffic Exchanges

One of the most straightforward and cost effective methods of creating leads to a product or service is to take part in the use of traffic exchanges or TE as they are regularly referred to. Nevertheless there is a right and a wrong way to use them and the purpose of this article is to illustrate and talk about the various components which are needed to get the absolute best from conducting your advertising through traffic exchanges.

Before we start it is crucial to run through the most common components of traffic exchanges in connection with product advertising. There are five major aspects which every ad crusade should have in order to do well and flourish.

- A splash page, also known as a landing page, is a short, sharp, attention grabbing ad page intended to draw the TE surfer and to encourage him or her to examine the pages of an offer in more detail. This page does not usually have much content, probably just an eye-catching graphic of either the product or someone demonstrating the product, a banner, and an inviting link for the TE surfer to activate in order to receive further information.

- A Lead Capture or Squeeze Page - This is another short advertisement similar to that on a splash page for a product or service but offering the TE surfer the chance to put forward their name and email address to get more information about the product by return email. Frequently the splash and squeeze pages are united in ad campaigns.

- Free Giveaway Item - This is an item in connection with the product and it is usually presented on the squeeze page to tempt the TE surfer to enter their name and email address to get more information delivered by email. This free item is likely to be a small report in the form of an ebook or maybe software related to or taken directly from the main product of the advertisement.

- Autoresponder - An autoresponder is a service or program used to send a succession of emails to the addresses gathered by the lead capture or squeeze page. This is referred to by most marketers as the subscribers list. This particular program or service is vital to the triumph of an ad campaign.

- A One Time Offer - Also known as an OTO is used with the above mentioned autoresponder to present the subscriber with a special discount on a part of the product's extras or may even offer the product itself at a bargain discounted price. Usually this OTO is made available only once throughout the list subscribing procedure to the potential buyer.

So now that we have explained a little about the five main parts to an advertising campaign lets take a look at how the flow of these things is put into practice. It is likely that new marketers will be placing advertisements for a product or service which they are an affiliate for. What this means is that they have registered with the owner of the service or product and are attempting to acquire sales for a percentage of the cost when someone buys what is being offered.

The most regular error that many new marketers make is trying to promote the main sales page of the product or service on the TE. This way they can hardly expect to receive an sales because the page is only going to be on the screen of the potential customer for at the longest ten seconds.

This is the reason why the splash page is a far more effective method. The TE surfer can swiftly examine the splash page and within just a short period of time decide whether they are sufficiently interested in the product to click through to the lead capture page.

As soon the splash page has caught their attention and they click through to the lead capture page it is up to the squeeze or lead capture page to convince the TE surfer that more information is required and it is at this stage where the free giveaway item usually leads the customer to providing a name and email address for further information to be sent to him or her. Once the surfer has duly completed the procedure to subscribe to the list for additional information the task of the autoresponder kicks in to distribute a series of emails with product information at precise intervals of time. Generally speaking the most effective intervals are three days apart involving a succession of five to seven emails.

So from the top, to summarize the basics of a successful ad campaign on a traffic exchange the advertiser ought to:

1) Use a splash page and not the direct product sales page
2) Propose a free item to get the likely customer's name and email address on to their list of subscribers
3) Use an autoresponder to forward a series of five to seven emails in three-day intervals to the list subscriber

If you use the above fundamental plan with your advertisements on a traffic exchange the ad campaign is sure to do well. Also, for information purposes, ensure that the splash pages load quickly. Remember there are only about five to ten seconds on average to get your splash page appearing in front of the surfer and as we all know first impressions count, so every second is vital.

Using E-zine Advertising To Generate Tons Of Laser Targeted Free Traffic

E-zine advertising is one of the most cost effective ways to drive massive amount of traffic to your website. E-zines are one of the things that the Internet has provided for just ordinary people that the print media never did get right. Today magazines that you buy (if you do) at your local news stand are mostly filled with full page advertisements for products that you could care less about and that have no bearing on your life or your wants or needs... they are just advertisements. If you can find articles in them, at all, they are sandwiched between page-after-page of advertising.

People have come to love E-zines. They publications come to them on their computers and are directly related to their lives and the things that they are interested in. The advertisements that are in the E-zines are directly related... they don't have to wade through pages of advertisements for denture adhesive and wheel toys to find and read about what they are interested in and what concerns them.

E-zine publishers are trusted by their subscribers. They have built reputations for being in touch with their readers needs and have proven that they can deliver timely information that their readers can actually use to solve their problems, meet their needs, make them look better or feel better, and answer their questions.

To find E-zines that have topics related to your website topic or to the products that you sell, you can look through E-zine directories online. Just type the words, 'E-zine directories' into the search box of your favorite search engine. Another way to find E-zines that relate to your product is to type your key words into the search box followed by the word 'E-zines'. You will get a lot of search results no matter what your topic is. There are E-zines that are dedicated to just about every topic under the sun.

E-zine advertising allows you to reach thousands of people... and not just any people... but the people who are most likely to become your customers. Remember that the idea here is not just to create website traffic...the idea is to create targeted website traffic by the thousands. Getting an advertisement into the hands of those people who are looking for a product or service that will solve their problem will drive them to your website in search of it if your product or service fits the bill.

It terms of effectiveness, as well as efficiency, advertising in E-zines is the top contender for the number one spot in both. An E-zine that is sent to thousands of your best prospects will most assuredly be effective and having your advertisement sent to thousands of your potential customers for a one time cost of only a few dollars and a few minutes of your time is certainly efficient.

Advertising in E-zines is far less competitive than most other advertising methods.
E-zine advertising has the advantage of some staying power. E-zines are almost always archived and people frequently refer to past issues of E-zines when they are searching for information. As a matter of fact, archived E-zines are one of the most used research tools on the Internet. When you place an advertisement in an E-zine that is dedicated to a topic that directly relates to your product or service, you can think of it as advertising to future potential customers, as well, making it an even bigger advertising bargain.

Write your advertisement being as efficient as you can with the words. Don't waste line space on words like 'great, fantastic, wonderful, exciting, etc.' Make every word of your limited words point people directly to your website and to your product.

Publishers of E-zines have permission to send email to their subscribers. You don't have that permission and even if you had the subscriber list, it would be illegal for you to email these potential customers about your product, service or website. You would be guilty of sending SPAM...which is certainly not a good thing. By placing an inexpensive advertisement with an E-zine you are, in effect, sending advertisements by email to your best prospective customers and getting targeted traffic to your website at the same time. You are also advertising to your most likely customers without being guilty of sending SPAM. It's a win/win situation and a rather inexpensive way to win twice.

Are You Water Cooler Worthy?

As consumers, we're bombarded with ad imagery on a daily basis. And while one might think that would automatically make us all experts on what makes for a great ad -- that simply isn't the case. Large ad agencies employ huge teams and countless millions each year conducting market research on what gives John Q. Public the impetus to make a purchase.

Super Bowl commercials are an excellent example of ads that often prove to be "water cooler worthy." These are the 30 and 60 second spots that linger with us long after the halftime show, the commentary and the MVP are distant memories. Advertisers pay millions of dollars to appear during this once a year event; that said, they exhaust countless hours, dollars, and resources to make sure that the resulting promotion will do more than give viewers the opportunity to go grab a beverage to get them through the next quarter.

Companies strive to create that unique message that has the combination of a compelling call to action, and that certain "extra" that makes you remember it long after you've flicked the channel, or returned to your favorite program. It's the elements that make you want to ask your friends and coworkers about it the next day...that "water cooler factor." So -- for those of us with far less staff and even less of an ad budget -- what can we do to make our message worthy of the water cooler?

Can Your Message...

Present the Product In a New Or Unique Way
If I were to mention the Dunkin' Donuts(R) Man, with his "Time to make the donuts" shtick, the granny in Wendy's(R) "Where's the Beef?" commercials, the "Slowski's" turtle twosome from Comcast(R), or the Budweiser(R) frogs, chances are you would immediately know what I am talking about. What these spots all have in common are memorable characters. The characters help to reinforce and solidify the brands in our minds. This strategy is particularly effective; in some cases, the characters go on to become pop culture icons.

Evoke Emotion
It can be anger, shock, sadness or happiness...but you have to "move me". Not all advertisements grab your attention by making an appealing pitch. Some opt to do this with provocative, or even salacious ads. Products like alcohol, fragrances, and clothing often resort to imagery that they are fully aware will provoke discussion. Ever hear the old adage, "any press is good press?" This is the cardinal rule of provocative advertising. Every time a commercial or print ad campaign winds up in the news or as the topic of a radio or talk show, the advertisers laugh all the way to the bank.

Create Curiosity
Grab my attention, and make me want more information. A great recent example of this type of advertising message is the promotions surrounding the movie "Cloverfield." I can recall sitting in the theater a full year before the movie came out, and seeing a 30 second promotion for the film -- and it didn't even have a title! As time grew closer to the movie's release, the commercials that aired on television gave glimpses into the plot, but nothing really definitive. Yet, the buzz for this film was incredible -- and a testament to the absolute genius of those responsible.

Demand Action
Get me to your website, make me call or write for more details, or make me BUY! Charitable organizations and telethons tend to use this type of message to gain attention. If you have ever watched a promotional spot for St. Luke's Children's Hospital, or the Human Society, or countless others -- they are all examples of how to employ this method. The imagery used in these types of messages is compelling, and it commands our attention. The narrators implore us to act, and, we do...in overwhelming numbers each year. Do you want to be the reason why the Red Green show goes off the air? Of course you don't! The result? You hop on the phone, whip out your credit card, and donate to your local PBS affiliate.

Clearly Convey Your Brand
Does the consumer know what you are promoting? Your message should be well-executed, concise, and clear. There may be opposing schools of thought on this topic, but for my ad dollar, I would want my prospective customers to know exactly what I am selling. How many times have you watched a commercial spot, and found yourself wondering, "What the heck were they trying to sell me?" Sometimes it is difficult to decipher whether or not the ads were written to receive industry awards for their creativity, or to actually sell something. Don't let it happen to you!

Just as important as your message is where you employ it. Perhaps you are lucky enough to have a product that crosses interest groups, and is needed by everyone. Lucky you! For everyone else, targeting your message is essential. Get your message in front of a qualified prospect, and turn them into a customer.

How An Effective Internet Marketing Campaign Made Me Give Pay-Per-Click Advertising Another Chance

As a Marketing veteran with over 20 years of experience, and nearly a decade in internet marketing alone, coupled with being a native New Yorker, there usually isn't much a company can do in the way of internet advertising that can get me to buy.

After awhile, I got quite jaded with all the standard squeeze pages that beg me to cough up my prized e-mail address with their umpteenth free newsletter, outlandish claims of internet riches and a "last seat on the bus" mentality with either a "just 52 left at this price" or "you've got 1 hour, 12 minutes and 6 seconds to buy" (complete with a second-by-second ticker to try and stress me out).

I have to admit though, even I can be bought. That's what happened when I received an e-mail from a mailing list I was on from a respected company. Since they have been very responsive and helpful, I was willing to give the kind of hokey e-mail offer they sent me a chance. Besides I love to study what others are doing for their internet marketing efforts--boy do I get some great ideas!

When I clicked on the requisite link and saw the headline, I thought, "oh boy, here we go again. Could this BE any more outrageous a claim?" Yet I have to admit, it hooked me because it was about Pay-Per-Click Advertising. Instinctively, I shivered seeing those words "Pay-Per-Click Advertising", because it brought back really bad memories of previous attempts I made at using these services for three different endeavors--to sell one of my early e-books; to try and drum up mortgage and real estate leads; and to sell a piece of real estate. All of these sucked the money out of my Pay-Per-Click accounts faster than just about anything I had ever seen--even for low-cost keywords of just 5 cents each!

I should have known better, as all of the successful internet marketing consulting work I have done for myself and my clients never required a single Pay-Per Click expenditure. But every time you go do a search on Google or Yahoo!, the pages are crawling with these ads, so you figure, "these pay-per-click ads must be working for someone or they wouldn't all be here. I'll try one more time". It might as well have been Lucy pulling the football away from Charlie Brown after sincerely promising not to do it ever again. You just know the outcome!

Anyway, so naturally when I saw this well-crafted example of a squeeze page about a secret for getting pay-per-click ads for free, I hate to admit it, but it hit a nerve and drew me in. So much so that after reading it, and letting the clock on the cookie-encoded page tick down for a few hours, and then a few hours more, later that night I decided, what the heck? I had wasted a lot more money on my previous Pay-Per-Click escapades than what this sharp internet marketer was asking for, and they got me.

Was I satisfied with the money I spent on learning "the pay-per-click advertising secret"? Actually yes. I don't expect to get rich overnight from the technique described, although I can see that it has potential. But I had to give the person who thought it up my kudos, as it is something I hate to admit I did not think of myself that should have been very obvious to me. In addition, as a marketing professional, I really appreciated the careful crafting of the advertising message and the way "the Pay-Per-Click advertising secret" was unveiled in the e-book I bought. Plus, there were some very good internet marketing resources mentioned in the e-book, as well as on the company's affiliate marketing pages, that I had not known about before.

Even if I never use the main technique described regarding the Pay-Per-Click advertising secret (although I am definitely going to give it a try because it makes worlds of sense), I still feel I got my money's worth on being able to study a skilled marketing campaign, and to get additional resources that will certainly help any of my internet marketing endeavors for myself and my clients.

So even if you think you know it all, and have heard it all, when it comes to internet marketing, it can't hurt to open your mind every now and then to a well-done, enticing offer. You just might learn something.

Powerful Words and Phrases for your New Internet Business

When marketing your new internet business try using the phrase "invest in our product" instead of the standard "purchase" or "buy". This will make readers feel they're investing in their future if they spend their money on your product. You should also tell people how much others have benefited from your product by showing testimonials of people who have used the product and seen the benefits or made money .

Include the word "simple/easy/straightforward" in your ad. People love straightforward ordering, easy payments, easy instructions, simple to use, etc. For example, you could always say, "It's the easiest way to lose some weight!" Another example could be, "It's really easy to order - just click here and fill out quick form!"

Use the words "sale/discount" in your ad or web page. People love to find bargains. They could be one time sales, rebates, percentage offers, Buy one get one free (bogof) offers, etc. You could possibly say something like, "Get a 50% discount if you order before (the date)!" Another example would be, "Order before our buy one get one free sale finishes!" To get your new internet business of the ground you should at least try this tactic a couple of times.

Always use logos and slogans for your new internet business. They make it easier for people to remember and identify your business. This is called branding, for example, how many times have you had a problem or need and the first thing that pops into your mind is a remembered business logo or slogan. It's really like an automatic reaction and this is why Big Companies spend millions 'branding' their product. This is more of a long term benefit to your new internet business but vital nonetheless.

Always include the word "testimonial" in your ad. People these days really need to see believable proof before they buy your product. It should be reputable and specific proof. You might say, "Check the terrific testimonials we have received!" Another example could be, "All these testimonials below were given voluntarily without payment or prompting!" Give your new internet business a head start with this proven tool.

Use the word "fast" in your ad. People want fast results, fast ordering, fast delivery, etc. Nowadays, most people usually value their time more than their money. For example, you can say, "Our product works really fast!" Another example, "This will save you hours." Most people with new internet businesses miss this.

Stress the idea of "new" in your ad. People always crave new products or services that will improve their lives like new technology, information, results, etc. I good phrase would be "Learn a NEW revolutionary way to lose weight!" Another example is, "New! Pre-Release!..."

Always try and get the word "free" in your ad somewhere. People are used to free incentives before they do business on the internet. They can be free e-books, services, accessories, etc. You might say. " Free shipping with every order over $100!" Another example could be, "Order within the next 10 minutes to get 4 extra bonuses free!" Try to always increase the value just before the point of sale just to tip fence sitters over to your side. Your new internet business will really benefit from this.

Feature the word "important" in your ad. People hate to think they're missing important information that could affect their circumstances. People will stop and take notice. Possibly your headline can read, "Important Warning!" Another example might be, "Important! Don't miss this!..."

This may seem strange but always put emotional words and phrases in your advertisements. Use words like freedom, love, fun, security, relief, happy, satisfaction, etc. An example would be, "Imagine meeting the love of your life and feeling the joy of happiness. You'll have the security and peace of mind of knowing you won't be alone again." Purchases are nearly always based on emotion rather than hard nosed facts. Exploit this and your new internet business will flourish.

Always use the word "guaranteed" in your ad. People want to be assured they are not risking their hard-earned money buying your product. For example, you could say, "Our product comes with a 90-day money-back guarantee!" Another example would be, "Don't forget our product comes with a lifetime guarantee!" If you are a new internet business then this step is vital to give you some credibility.

Try the word "limited" in your ad. People perceive products that are exclusive or rare to be considered to be more valuable. For example, you could say, "This special edition will be limited to the first 500 who order!" Another example would be, "Order before (date) to get this limited version of our e-book!" Your new internet business could really benefit from this tactic.

Always show your readers how much enthusiasm you have for your product and business and write accordingly. If you can convince your reader that YOU are enthusiastic about your product then they will be enthusiastic too. For example, you can say, "I'm REALLY EXCITED about our new widget!" Another useful example could be, "I can't wait for You to experience these results!" Enthusiasm is an emotion and you need to create these positive, exciting emotions in your readers whether in email marketing on on your web page. Manage this and your new internet business will become an established internet business in no time.

Ten Methods of Improving Sales when Marketing Online

When marketing online people will always feel more comfortable when buying your products if you give them enough information about yourself and your business that they feel comfortable around you and feel they "know" you. This information can be your profile, overall business history, employee profiles, Education Qualifications, any Awards you might have won, etc.

Below are ten methods you can use to Promote Yourself.

One: Publish a free e-zine and use some of the extra space in your e-zine to write about you, your website and your business. This could be entitled "A Note about the Publisher".

Two: Always have a page or two on your web site called "About Us". Alongside your information it's good internet marketing to also include some photos. This shows people you're a real person and you're not hiding behind your website or business.

Three: Why not teach a free chat room class on a subject related to your website. You could install a chat room on your web site quite easily these days (bet way) or use a free one from another web site. Before the class starts give them a little bio about yourself. This can really boost your online marketing

Four: Write articles in your area of expertise. Always include a resource box at the end of the article. This is your chance to give information about yourself and also get a good quality back link to your website. Send the article to web sites or e-zines that accept article submissions.

Five: Always publish information about you and business history in your ad copy. While people are reading through it they begin to trust you and your business. You don't want to over do this though, after all you don't want to distract them from your products for too long.

Six: Create and give away a free ebook. This is a very powerful and viral online marketing method. In the ebook include a section called "About The Author". Also don't forget to include an advertisement for your business.

Seven: Amongst all your other internet marketing try to devote some time every week to Participating in online communities like newsgroups, discussion boards, e-mail discussion lists, chat rooms and forums. You will meet many people and in return they will get to know you. This is where you can really establish some credibility for yourself which don't forget reflects on your business. If you can help a few people via these methods your reputation a an expert will spread and this can only benefit your internet marketing. Don't forget to always include a link back to your website in your signature when posting in forums. They carry great PR value from pages such as these.

Eight: Consider Promoting yourself offline. This might not seem to be too relevant to online marketing but believe me it is. Why not see if the local College has a business studies or internet class you could speak at. Speak at business seminars and join a business association or club. Assemble fund raising events for charity (Sponsored by your business of course). These are just few ideas to promote yourself offline.

Nine: Think about offering free consulting to your visitors. This is possible via e-mail, instant messenger or phone. You could even set up webinars and group calls. Your visitors will get to know you and feel more comfortable buying your products.

Ten: Donate some time, services, or products to charities. You can then list the charities you've contributed to on your web site and this will show your visitors that you and your business care about others. This creates Trust which is priceless, especially in the internet where your visitor very likely doesn't know of you personally.

Discover The Latest Advertising Marketing Technique

Advertising often holds the key to successful marketing in any business. Doing business without advertising is like kissing in the dark you know what you are doing but nobody else does.

Network marketing is a powerful method of generating sales. At its birth just a few decades ago it was touted by renowned university professors to be the most effective method of marketing. In fact, it will replace more than half of the world commerce to bring products to the consumer. Even though this prediction did not really seem to materialize it is still a proven effective way of marketing a company product. Amway is one of the pioneers. It is still the most quoted success story in network marketing. Today hundreds of companies swear by network marketing selling products from health supplements to cosmetics, from timesharing to even credit cards.

Up till now nobody has thought of marrying these two very powerful ways of doing business, that is, advertising and network marketing. Why not?

Admittedly there are a lot of obstacles to overcome. But these are mostly problems of preconceptions. For example, when we talk about advertising, media is the first thing that comes to our mind. Shall we advertise on TV? Or shall we use the radio, or newspapers, or magazines. What about billboards? Word of mouth is usually not considered as one of the media. At least it is not the preferred media. In fact why we advertise is that spreading by word of mouth is considered too slow.

However, we know that word of mouth could be one of the most effective ways to promote a product or service. In fact, to use the internet marketing term, word of mouth is viral. And it usually works very well, negatively. Think of the many marketing campaigns where millions of dollars are splurged. Then, when the customers give the advertised product a try they feel disillusioned and disappointed. They then spread the word like wild fire. And the poor guys sometimes do not know what hit them after spending tons of money their product remains on the shelf. And they thought their advertising campaign did not work. It did, actually. The customers went to give their products a try.

So, we do not usually consider word of mouth as legitimate advertising.

Coming back to network marketing one question arises. If network marketing is really such a good way of doing business then why is not succeeding the way it should be? Want to know the answer? Ask anyone who have done network marketing before and failed. They will probably tell you all the disadvantages of this system of marketing. Do not be surprised if you get vehement opinions even equating network marketing to pyramid scams. The following are common feedback received.

Before that, let me first point out that network marketing, MLM and direct selling are terms that are used interchangeably. They mean the same thing. The system started off by calling itself direct selling. Soon, it became a bad word. Die hard fans scrambled for another term to describe their way of doing business. They found MLM, or multilevel marketing. Soon, it, too, became a bad word. Today the official term is called network marketing. Now, let us run through the common comments.

1. MLM is scam it gives people a dreamland whereby they will awake to find everything is still a dream.
2. What do they mean by mutual cooperation to achieve our goals it is simply a sucker looking for a victim?
3. Products are overpriced. That is because they have to give a lot of commissions to so call down lines.
4. A leading MLM company conned me into attending their meeting they refused to say it was MLM and told me it was a great business opportunity. These guys are so unprofessional.
5. Building a network is too tough it is very difficult to get people to attend meetings.
6. Unlike what my up line said, this business has a lot of hidden costs, petrol, toll, parking, traffic jams, stationery, snacks, etc.
7. I hate maintenance I am forced to buy hundreds of dollars of products each month.
8. I have stock stacked up to my ceiling trying to earn a higher level of commissions.
9. What MLM? Just say it is a pyramid scam.

Many countries including Singapore have banned MLM for many years. China has outlawed MLM since 1998. Amway functions as retail outlets in China. Despite Chinas strict rules on direct selling Americans are still eying this big cake of a population and are hopeful for the China government to have a change of heart sometime soon.

With the above outlined, one might not be surprised to find that no one has ever thought of marrying advertising and network marketing. The odds seem insurmountable.

But wait. Let us examine the core values of advertising and we mean word of mouth advertising, to be specific and network marketing.

Well, we have already seen how effective word of mouth advertising is. Or, how damaging it could be. As for network marketing, its success is past the experimental stage. You may be surprised if I tell you that all of us have done network marketing before, unknowingly. If you came across a good movie or a great meal at a reasonably priced restaurant would you not tell your friends? See, there you have it. That is network marketing in its most basic form. Ask yourself, is there anything wrong with telling your friends and loved ones about a wonderful product you have come across. Be it some health supplements that have worked for you, or a financial package that has helped you save a lot of money.

Why network marketing is not working the way it should be is the subject of another discussion. Right now let us give some thought on how to combine these two powerful forces in the marketing world. We may create a business system that is revolutionary and rake in profits that make traditional businessmen jealous.

Tips On Avoiding Getting Your Google Adsense Account Terminated

Google, being the undisputable leader in search engines from then until now, is placing a high importance on the quality and relevancy of its search engines. Most especially now that the company is public property. In order to keep the shareholders and users of its engines happy, the quality of the returned results are given extreme importance.

For this same reason, doing the wrong things in the Adsense and other forms of advertisements, whether intentionally or unintentionally, will result in a severe penalty, may get you banned and even have your account terminated. Nothing like a good action taken to keep wrongdoers from doing the same things over again.

So for those who are thinking of getting a career in Adsense, do not just think of the strategies you will be using to generate more earnings. Consider some things first before you actually get involved.

Hidden texts. Filling your advertisement page with texts to small to read, has the same color as the background and using css for the sole purpose of loading them with rich keywords content and copy will earn you a penalty award that is given to those who are hiding links.

Page cloaking. There is a common practice of using browser or bot sniffers to serve the bots of a different page other than the page your visitors will see. Loading a page with a bot that a human user will never see is a definite no-no. This is tricking them to click on something that you want but they may not want to go to.

Multiple submissions. Submitting multiple copies of your domain and pages is another thing to stay away from. For example, trying to submit a URL of an Adsense as two separate URLs is the same as inviting trouble and even termination. Likewise, this is a reason to avoid auto submitters for those who are receiving submissions. Better check first if your domain is submitted already an a certain search engine before you try to submit to it again. If you see it there, then move on. No point contemplating whether to try and submit there again.

Link farms. Be wary of who and what are you linking your Adsense to. The search engines know that you cannot control your links in. But you can certainly control what you link to. Link farming has always been a rotten apple in the eyes of search engines, especially Google. That is reason enough to try and avoid them. Having a link higher than 100 on a single page will classify you as a link farm so try and not to make them higher than that.

Page rank for sale. If you have been online for quite some time, you will notice that there are some sites selling their PR links or trading them with other sites. If you are doing this, expect a ban anytime in the future. It is okay to sell ads or gain the link. But doing it on direct advertisement of your page rank is a way to get on search engines bad side.

Doorways. This is similar to cloaking pages. The common practice of a page loaded with choice keyword ads aimed at redirecting visitors to another user-friendly page is a big issue among search engines. There are many seo firms offering this kind of services. Now that you know what they actually are, try to avoid them at all costs.

Multiple domains having the same content. In case you are not aware of it, search engines look at domains IPs, registry dates and many others. Having multiple domains having the same exact content is not something you can hide from them. The same goes with content multiplied many times on separate pages, sub domains and forwarding multiple domains to the same content.

Many of the above techniques apply to most search engines and is not entirely for Google only. By having a mind set that you are building your Adsense together with your pages for the human users and not for bots, you can be assured of the great things for your ads and sites.

Not to mention avoiding the wrath of the search engines and getting your Adsense and site account terminated altogether.

Are Metatags so Important to the Search Engines Anymore?

The debate rages on about whether meta tags are really relevant anymore and should you even bother with them.

Meta tags are unseen bits of information that reside in the 'Head' section of web pages. They give the Search Engine robots that visit your website an idea of what your web page is about. In earlier days when the robots were much simpler little programs good meta tags were an absolute necessity if you wanted your web page to rank highly in the search engine results. The main three meta tags that search engines took an interest in were 'Title', 'Description' and 'Keywords'. In the early days all one had to do was stuff these tags with your favorite keywords and you were sure to rank highly with the search engines.

However as robots got more sophisticated 'keyword stuffing' became detected and the robots actually started to weigh the content of the actual page against the meta tags. Keyword stuffing meta tags could now get you penalized by the search engines if your page didn't match up to the keywords in the tags.

Then, lead by the big daddy search engine, Google, link popularity suddenly became a much more important criteria on which they judge the relevancy and 'importance' of websites. This means how many external websites (as in someone else's) have a link on their website which points to yours. This lead to a flurry of link farms springing up (now a no no..) and reciprocal linking between websites (You put a link on mine and I'll put a link on yours). Obviously Google and the others live in the same World that we do and soon became aware of what was going on. The robots improved yet again and could now differentiate between one way links and reciprocal links. Guess what, reciprocal links suddenly carried a lot less weight and a lot of websites tumbled down the rankings as a result.

The best links to have without a doubt are now One-Way links (Someone else links to your website but you don't link to theirs..) This really brought to the fore already established marketing methods such as Submitting your links to Directories and Article Writing. These are two of the currently most effective methods of getting a good ranking with the Search Engines, and as an effect, more traffic to your website.

So do the Search Engines care about Meta Tags? Yes and no. In my opinion as far as Search Optimization goes Tags carry a LOT less weight than they used to. Search Engines had to learn better methods of ranking websites because Web Masters were exploiting the Tags.

So if you're concerned about getting on the front page of Google then you need to get lots of quality back links to your website, did I mention relevance? Maybe that's for another article. For now if your website is about cars then try to get links from car related websites, it could be a Desert Rallying website if you like, but there should be a better than tenuous connection.

Meta tags ARE still important in my view if you want to do Google Adwords. I believe that Google still considers meta tags in determining relevancy of your ad to your page WHICH in turn determines how much you will have to pay per click.

SO yes it's worth getting your meta tags sorted and clear, it will help to bring your pay par click price down with Google and it doesn't hurt to have them done right anyway. Pick about four or five relevant key words or phrases for your page, Don't put fifty in there, Google will laugh all the way to the bank with your click price.

2008: Ten Oracular Ruminations On What Comes Next

It's that time of year when trends are all the rage. The business community needs to know, what's coming down the cultural highway next year? How do we make a buck off of it?

Fair questions.

Part of the problem in answering , of course, is that trend identification is often just a business-appropriate term for fortune telling. Some people are granted high regard for this...you'll know them because they collect lots of data!...but the truth is they are looking backwards for answers regarding events that will largely be shaped by the unknown and the unknowable. And far be it for humility or even a decent calendar to stand in the prognosticator's way.

At least when astrology is brought to bear on this practice of future casting, it's no secret that one is playing with the intellectual equivalent of a squishy toy with a Magic 8 Ball(tm) in its tummy. But the truth of squishy toys is that they can be both comforting and charming. And admit it, one was once your best friend.

So I encourage you, as you read the following oracular ruminations (not trends for godssake), to not think so much of some high priced business consultancy with a penchant for groovy terminology and highly polished statements of the obvious. This is coming straight from your teddy. Okay, a well-spoken teddy who probably needs to get out more.

1. Making good use of time is not always the same thing as being quick.

Our society has become speed hungry in a zillion different self-destructive ways. This year the astrological clock speaks of enormous change in cultural time perception. We are on the precipice of rediscovering that the race is a marathon rather than a sprint, and it will go to the steady rather than the swift.

2. Authority will vest in the effective and the responsible; talk is cheap.

It may not be clear right now, but we are leaving an age of duelling concept articulation for one in which power will vest in the capable. On any level of enterprise, the most desirable chief will be the responsible steward of resources...not the one with the best patter. Claims to authority must be backed up by evidence of experience, competence and stability.

3. Self-discipline is making a cultural comeback, even if it's just an ideal.

It's long been observed that everyone thinks they should lose weight, a sentiment frequently expressed while one consumes a double cheese pizza. The point here is that human nature will always remain messy in its expression. There are times though when there is an idealism about resilience, self-discipline and an honest appreciation of the small things. This is one of those times.

4. The individual soul is nourished by participation in cultural peak experiences.

It might be a holiday dinner or a rock concert or a revival meeting, but folks are especially attuned right now to the beyond of existence, and are generally inclined to a path to personal salvation that leads through virtuoso performances that are experienced in community. That's a mouthful, but it does probably indicate that event sponsorships are an attractive path to pursue right now.

5. Apprenticeship is a very attractive concept, if the master has any skill.

A confluence of cultural factors suggests that generations are in place that might have a practicable notion about the dynamics of apprenticeship. The real key is an understanding that time and practice and a patient outlook are inherent to long-term success and vested authority. I will follow for a while, says today's teen/early 20's individual, but you must actually teach me how to do something worthwhile.

6. Sell neither sizzle nor steak but, rather, a really great hamburger.

It's a broad sweeping generalization (and it's admittedly based on astrological insight) but 2008 is shaping up as a year when basics are back in a big way. This is more than just an observation about the efficient compatibility of design and function. This is more along the lines that lillies are a rare commodity right now, and gilding them is in poor taste. Better yet, sell me a perfect daisy.

7. Sophistication ain't dead yet.

If you have a few minutes to kill and you occasionally enjoy a good dictionary definition, look up the word sophistication. What you will discover is that this is an etymological nugget with both fans and detractors. This is relevant here, because the concept itself demands a sort of pitch perfect positioning for it to display any charm. Marketers should thus take heed...dignified is not the same as boring, but tawdry is always tawdry.

8. What's the matter with kids today?

Children, as that terminally bromidic lyric goes, are our future. Yes, we love them. Yes, we particularly love our own. But culturally, let's face it, they're just not that cute in the aggregate right now and we don't want to hear them telling us how we should run our lives. Please note that this is cyclical. Thank goodness, I suppose.

9. Keep your eye on Hillary.

Predicting elections is a sucker's game. Heck, predicting most anything is a sucker's game. But an astrologer can't help but notice that there is at least one important astrological similarity between 2008 and 1979, the year that Margaret Thatcher became England's first female Prime Minister. (Of course, if Oprah continues to support Barack in a big way maybe she will be America's first de facto female CEO.)

10. And finally here are some random things your teddy bear is whispering, so they must be on his mind:

China, Mars, Evita, The Fugees, Frank Sinatra, Buddy Holly, Homer's Odyssey, Jerry MacGuire, Mcdonald's Arch DeLuxe, Big Night Out, Statins, Protease Inhibitors, Tiger Woods, Alex Rodriguez, Kevin Garnett, Apocalypse Now, Ayatollah Khomeini, Jonestown, The Deer Hunter, Kramer vs Kramer, Mork & Mindy, Animal House, Amazon, Epicurious, The Library of Congress

7 Power Tips to JumpStart a Stalled Web Site

You put up a website to attract clients for your professional service business. Maybe you even put up a sales letter - a solo web page designed to promote an information product, tangible product, or seminar.

And so far...nothing! No takers. No sign-ups for your ezine. What's going on?

(1) Get solid evidence that people want your product -- and will buy it online.

Even on eBay and craigslist, some products go unsold. Some markets don't buy online, download ebooks or listen to mp3 files: they shop in brick and mortar stores, buy books at Borders and listen to CDs.

(2) Make sure you have targeted traffic coming to your site.

If you have no traffic...well, there's your answer. But not all traffic is equally valuable. Your keywords, positioning or referral site may be attracting visitors who are outside your target market.

(3) Encourage each visitor to begin building a relationship with you.

Often visitors won't buy on a first visit. So you need to invite them to sign up for an ezine, an ecourse, or even a downloadable manual. Some people read my ezine for over a year before they buy from me.

(4) Showcase unique, meaningful benefits for your target market.

Many professionals focus on how they deliver the service instead of how clients feel about their new lives. And you need to tell readers why you're unique - why nobody else can make the same offer.

(5) Make it easy for your visitors to say yes.

Believe it or not, when visiting other people's sites, I often have to hunt around for an order form when I'm eager, even desperate, to get my hands on a product. Ask visitors to buy...and consider adding some bright red arrows to point them in the right direction.

(6) Create a sense of urgency.

Ideally, your product or service reaches readers by connecting to their pain and their toughest challenges. But you also need to suggest reasons for buying today - not next week, not later.

(7) Test...and test some more. For example:

Test 2 or 3 versions of your headline. Sometimes a news-oriented headline actually works better than a sales-oriented headline or vice versa.

Test backgrounds. I once tripled sign-ups to my ezine by changing the background color.

Test the small stuff. Once I compared two google adwords ads. I changed the spelling of one word in the headline - from midlife to mid-life. The hyphenated version attracted 40% more clickthroughs. Go figure.

Bottom Line: Even when experts create your marketing message, you need to keep evaluating the effectiveness of your marketing materials, especially your website. The Internet gurus share one passion: testing and revising. They're constantly enhancing their sites and their messages. And the rest of us need to do the same.

Writing Articles To Generate Tons Of Free Traffic

Writing and submitting articles to article banks has been proven to be one of the most effective of all traffic generating techniques. You may not actually generate any real traffic for your website in the next few days by learning to write and submit articles but this technique will serve you very well and it is worth the effort to learn how to do it and use it to your fullest advantage.

You may think that you have no writing ability at all but you are probably wrong. You might not be ready to write the 'Great American Novel' but you can write articles about the topic of your website and about the products that you are selling. You just need to know the rules for making them effective.

The first and most important few words of your article are in the title or the headline. The title MUST contain the key words that relate to the topic of your website and to the products that you sell. This is the first thing that other website owners or E-zine publishers will look at when they are deciding whether to reproduce your article on their websites or in the publications because they know that the key words are what search engines use to determine the results of searches.

Note: The search engines are the method by which people find products or information that they are looking for on the Internet. To find those products or that information, they type key words into the search boxes of the search engines. For example; they might type in 'fish bait' or 'fishing lures'. The results that the search engines provide are based on the key words that the searcher uses.

The other thing about the title or headline of your article is that it must be attention getting. You can't just title your article 'Fish Bait'. You have to make your title interesting enough to entice the reader to keep reading. 'Fish Bait that Works'...that isn't very good either. How about, 'Fish Bait from Heaven' or The Fish Bait the Fish Can't Resist'? Either of those titles would entice the person who was looking for information about fish bait to keep reading.

The second most important few words in your article are in the first line of the first paragraph. Internet surfers have a notoriously short attention span and rarely actually read anything word for word unless it is information that they believe will serve their needs, solve a problem or make life better in general for them. So...the title...and the first line are the bait and the hook that you use to entice a reader to actually read the article. The first line needs to contain the key words, as well, and it also need to be attention getting. 'The fish were begging for more of this fish bait after my first cast!' If you were a fisherman, you would keep reading.

Another thing about writing articles that you plan to submit to article banks is that they need to be short. Very short! They should be a maximum of 400 words and closer to 300 would be better. It's easy to get carried away and suddenly have an article that is 1000 words are more when you are discussing a subject that you know a lot about and are interested in. If you start writing and forget to stop, break long wordy articles down and make three or four articles out of the one long one.

Use short sentences and short paragraphs. Remember that short attention span that we talked about? Don't use big words and don't use run-on sentences. Make you article easy to read.

Go easy on the exclamation points, as well. One exclamation point indicates importance or excitement... a half a dozen are just rude.

Your resource box at the end of the article is the part that is most important to you. Other website owners or E-zine publishers who download and reproduce your article are required to include your resource box. This box needs to contain your full name, your contact information and, most importantly, a link to your website. That link is the little thing that is going to help increase traffic for you.

Do You Know Enough About Advertising Brands

If you do not have a business degree, there is probably a lot you do not understand about what is going on when you see a commercial or a name brand. Did you know that there are people out there who have a job that does nothing more than promote the brand of a certain product? Many larger companies have this position, and they know that advertising brands is an essential part of keeping a business new and vital, but at the same time familiar.

When advertising brands, a company is burning their logo or name into your mind. They are constantly trying to get their image in your brain. That way, when you need something, you are more likely to think of them first. If someone has done a good job advertising brands, they have imprinted an image in your mind that remains. If the company makes laundry detergent, they are trying to make sure that the next time you go into a store you will think of their brand first and that is what you are going to buy. If the company makes fast food, they want to be the sign you are looking for along the highway when you are hungry, or the place you drive though late at night when you get the munchies.

Sometimes, advertising brands is easy, and other times it is hard. You may think of brands like McDonalds or Tide first when you think of some of the most successful brands. Others like Pepsi or Coke also come to mind. These companies have been around for a long time, so there is a long term connection with that brand. This is a power they have behind them that can overcome any other type of advertising brands that others may try to do. Those others may succeed, but these companies know what they are doing and how to do it for longevity.

Advertising brands may seem simple enough, but it do not take much to derail a lot of hard work. If you think of companies that have gotten bad press, you probably think of something you have heard on the news about health or human issues. If someone gets sick in a restaurant, it is often hard for that company to overcome that. Though it is very possible with the help, advertising brands becomes harder when something negative has happened. They say there is no such thing as bad press, but I am not sure that this is true. Some things simply cannot be overcome.

The Best Free Blog Hosts On The Net

For first time bloggers, a free blogging web site is a great way to get started in the blogosphere. Popular blogging web sites like Blogger and Eponym allow users to set up and host a blog without paying any fees at all.

This encourages people to start blogging, because the fact that one of these sites can provide you with all of the tools that you need to get your blog up and running without spending any money means that you have nothing to lose by starting a blog.

The fact that it is so easy to find a way to blog for free is one of the reasons why so many people who have never had any other kind of web presence before find themselves drawn to blogging.

By signing up with a free blogging web site, you may find it easier to get listed in search engines that you would if you were starting your own blog from scratch. For example, Google runs the free blog hosting site Blogspot and crawls its pages very often looking for updates, so if you have your site hosted by Blogspot you are almost guaranteed to be listed on Google's blog search engine.

This easy access to search engines can take some of the work out of promoting your blog, and can help you gain a following with a minimum of marketing effort.

If your blog attracts a large readership, you may want to consider moving your site. Many people feel that being hosted by a free blogging web site gives a blog a kind of amateur flavor that is fine for a new member of the blogosphere, but is not appropriate for a high-profile blog. Having your own domain can help you make your blog feel professional, and finding a company that will host your domain is not difficult or expensive.

Once your blog takes off, you will probably be able to sell enough advertising space to be able to afford to buy a domain and pay for a hosting package, and still have money left over. However, it does not make sense in most cases to invest in these glossy luxuries before you have a sizable readership.

Starting your blog on a free blogging web site is a great way to build a following before you spend any money on your blog. If and when your blog becomes popular and you are ready to take the next step and purchase your own domain, your readers will follow you to your new home. The fact that it is possible to use a free blog host like Blogspot, Blogger, or Eponym as a kind of incubator for your blog is great news for bloggers everywhere.
