Advertising agencies are here to help you get your company, products and services noticed. They provide you with ways in being able to present your company in your particular industry and become one of the options, if not the number one choice for the consumers in their buying process.

Advertising Agency Branding - How It Works

Advertising agency branding starts with getting to know your company in terms of the industry it is in. It studies the present workings of your company, the quality of products or services you provide, and the buying experience of the customers as well as their satisfaction brought about by what you sell.

One then proceeds with the analysis of your companys situation, in consideration of your customers perception of your company and the products and services you provide. This can be done through research methods or by interviews and surveys.

An advertising agency then comes up with a plan - to address the weak points in your companys image and to highlight the distinct advantage your companys products can offer to the buyer.

The Usual Approach of Advertising Agency Branding

There are specific approaches the advertising agency will employ in order to get your products noticed and to influence the buyers to pick yours over the others. Below are just examples on how advertising agency branding may be done.

The use of catchy phrases - Advertising agency branding can provide you with this service so that your product will be associated with catchy words, and becomes easier for consumers to remember.

The use of characters - Associating your companys products with characters that people can relate to, will do well on making your product stand-out in the customers minds.

There are still many other methods of capturing that element that sets your products apart from your competitors. The idea is for the advertising agency to be creative enough to come up with the appropriate appeal of your products, and show it to the world in good taste.

Influence Your Customers Perception and Feeling

One should note that the message delivered by the companys ad campaign should be done just right so as to evoke the positive emotions and perceptions of the consumers. One should ensure that the consumers would be able to relate with the messages of these campaigns.

The ad campaign should consider the specific market your company is targeting. The substance and message of the campaign should be focused and concentrated on that specific buying market.

Remember that advertising agency branding should not only be successful in making your products visible in the market, but it should also induce the consumers to buy - and more so, make them loyal to the brand they now trust.

Are you always looking for ways to increase your sales? Here are 19 smart sales promotion methods for increasing sales.

1. Right after the first sale, make sure you follow-up with your client. Send a "thanks for your order" email, or letter that includes a promotion for another product you sell. Then, make sure to get in touch with a follow-up every few months.

2. You could try upselling to your clients. When they have arrived at your Order page, you could showcase a couple of related products that you offer for sale. That way, they could just add it to their first order.

3. Inform your clients that if they refer 4 more people to your site who become customers, you will grant them a full rebate on their purchase price. This is a great way to turn one sale into three sales.

4. Give your new customers the option to join an affiliate program so they can make extra cash selling your product. This multiplies the sale you just made.

5. Offer the customer the reproduction/reprint rights to your product. Within the package you offer, you could include information on other products you have for sale.

Sales could be generated from the reprint rights of the piggy-back products too.

6. You could create a package deal where you cross promote your products with another businesses' product.

Include a flyer or ad showcasing other products you offer. These can be sold when the other business promotes their products.

7. After a customer has purchased your product, ship it out, or deliver it with a coupon of other related products you sell.

Since they have bought from you once, this will trigger them to buy more of your products from you.

8. Within the packaged original product your customer has purchased; include a catalog of related add-on products.

The catalog could display special services, attachments, upgrades, etc. If your original product was a good purchase for them, they will buy some of the add-ons too.

9. Provide gift certificates for purchase for your products. Sales will come in from the gift certificate purchase, when the recipient cashes it. Once there, this new customer may also purchase other products from your website.

10. Distribute free products to your customers, such as ball caps, bumper stickers, pens, t-shirts, etc. These promo items should have your ad printed on them. Many people will see your ad, which will drive them to your site to order.

11. Use a "P.S." at the end of your ad copy. This is where you either want to repeat a strong benefit or use a strong close like a free bonus.

12. Publish a free ebook and give it away from your web site or in your e-zine. This will increase your traffic, sales and e-zine subscribers.

13. Create multiple streams of income with your web site. You could sell your own products, join affiliate programs, sell advertising space, etc.

14. Give your visitors compliments in your ad copy. This can earn their trust and put them in a good mood, in return they will be easier to sell too.

15. Create new products or services only if there is a strong need for them. You won't have anyone to sell them to if you don't have a market.

16. Sell a few products on your web site instead of selling a large amount of products. To many choices can overwhelm your visitors and they won't buy.

17. Include content and free stuff on your web site that promote the products you're selling. If they don't read your ads, they may read your offerings.

18. Remind your visitors that you're human not just a web site. You could publish information on your family life, a picture of yourself , a profile, etc.

19. Provide a "Contact Page" on your web site. Give your visitors as many options to contact you as possible. This'll add credibility to your business.

Are you running short of ideas for your articles? Is generating fresh ideas for writing becoming difficult? By following the techniques discussed in this article, you will be an article generating power house.

1. Subscribe to a dozen RSS feeds on various subjects you are most interested in. Scan through the feeds every morning or at night and select a few articles for thorough reading. After reading the articles, tag them using your own classification system.

Classifying articles in different categories helps locate them quickly. Use Google's RSS reader for reading and tagging the RSS feeds. You will have access to your categorized articles from any computers connected to the Internet.

2. Subscribe to a few print magazines and read them regularly. After you finish reading an article, record the main points of the article in a Google note. You will have access to these notes anywhere in the World.

3. Use a PDA and carry it with you wherever you go. Better yet, get a PDA with a camera and cell phone. You will only carry one gadget for all your communication, organization, and content generation needs.

Take pictures of interesting places, events, and moments you come across in your daily life. Use the voice recorder of the PDA to record whenever an idea hits you. Every night, transfer the ideas from your PDA to Google notes and upload your pictures to flickr.

4. Scan through the comments posted by others on the online articles you read regularly. Record interesting ideas, pros and cons of an issue, and strong opinions posted by others in your Google notes. Leverage the wisdom of the crowd.

5. Have lunch with friends at least once a week. Bounce ideas off them on any topic. Mix ideas from divergent topics to create new ideas in you own subjects.

6. Use the time like driving, watching TV while exercising in a treadmill, etc. to think about your favorite topics and try to relate to things you observe on the road and on the TV. When you get an idea, record it in your PDA.

7. Go through all the ideas and articles you have recorded in Google notes and your RSS reader to create new ideas by giving new twists to the old ideas. Combine two or more ideas and change or improve an existing idea to come up with your own idea.

8. Use a variety of online tools like Technorati, Digg, Delicious, etc. for writing inspiration. Every hour, hundreds of new articles and news stories are posted in these sites. Quickly scan them to hit a few gold nuggets that can serve as springboards for new ideas.

9. Using on-line tools discussed earlier, select an issue and jot down all the pros and cons. Search Google to enhance the idea by adding more pros and cons. Once you have collected a dozen diverse opinions, you will be able to write an article based on those facts in a pro-con format.

10. If you are good at using data for analysis and comfortable in the use of a spreadsheet, draw charts in the spreadsheet and look for patterns in the data. Provide you own interpretation to the data. Illustrate your articles with charts and graphs.

11. To generate topics for your article, use overture keyword selector. Select a single keyword and run it through the overture. You will see a dozen or more keywords based on the search popularity. Copy a few selected keywords to a notepad. Now, take each keyword and do a search in online sites like Digg, Technorati, etc. You will see a number of articles. Read them to generate ideas.

12. Ask yourself what if, what else, and why not questions on an issue and search the Internet to find answers from different sources. Create new ideas generated from existing materials, provide step-by-step guide for somebody to practice an obvious idea, or offer benefits of practicing an old idea.

In the world of business, visibility is an important element in increasing consumer awareness and interest. However, this is not solely relevant to the strategic placements of products in the market but also the location of the establishment and the attractiveness of the signages as well. The concept of signage branding brings to attention the significance of installing a highly appealing facade that would effectively compel potential customers to enter your establishment. This is yet another form of marketing ploy intentionally designed to increase the products or services presence in the market.

Signage branding does not only allow people to know your office location, but more importantly it will nature of give them an indication as to the nature of your business. It is a valuable form of advertising that should be given more attention and thorough deliberation. After all, it is you primary tool in attracting the attention of consumers.

To be able to create an effective signage branding, the principal consideration would have to be where to put up the signage. A badly placed signage could potentially defeat its main purpose. The most common placement of signages would be on the rooftops, the walls of the building, awnings or can even be made to stand alone in front of the commercial structures. Make sure that there will not be any trees or other materials could block the view of the signage, even for passing motorists. The signage should also be seen not only during daytime but also during nighttime as well, to be able to maximize its efficacy.

Another important consideration in putting up an effective signage branding is to treat it as a communication tool. First of all, the signages should be big enough to read even from afar, giving special attention to the proper blending of colors. Make sure that even at a considerable distance and even if they are mobile, people will be able to read it. As an important communication tool, your signage should be able to efficiently convey the message you want to get across. It would be best to keep everything short and concise at the same time create the desired impact.

There are some businesses that commit the common mistake of neglecting the importance of signages and allow it to develop into a dilapidated state. Dont make that same error. This is certainly a big blunder on the part of businessmen who want to exude a highly capable image. It would be a good idea if you can change your signages from time to time to keep the interest of the consumers and at the same time create an impression that your company is efficient and highly capable.

Corporate branding is the use of the companys name as a brand name of a product or service. Some examples include Coca-Cola or Pepsi. This practice is effective in building product recognition. However, corporate branding is more than just advertising and marketing. It involves those processes but, at the same time, corporate branding incorporates other strategies such as investor and media relations. Corporate branding requires the participation of not just the marketing group but top management as well.

If you are going to be using Pop-Unders, Keyword Targeted Pop-Unders, Expired Domain Traffic, AUDIO is OK traffic, there are a few very important tips that will make using the POP method of promotion more effective. You need to be aware of the difference between HITS and GUARANTEED TRAFFIC. And, you need to be aware of the differences between RAW and UNIQUE traffic.

HITS - are usually traffic from sites users who didn't "want" to go to your website, they just got tricked or forced to go to it. "Hits" can also be manipulated to appear like they are real visitors going to your site. Just type "traffic simulators" into Google and you will see that traffic simulators are designed to send as many unique hits to your server as it can handle. Web page requests are routed through a massive list of anonymous proxy servers. Counters and banners "see" these fake hits just as if a real user was browsing your site. When you buy "hits" you run a risk of buying fake traffic that appears 100% realistic- the only way you can tell the difference between this fake traffic and real traffic, is that with the fake hits, you see NO results!

GUARANTEED TRAFFIC - is traffic that is actually "eyes" visiting and viewing your webpages.

UNIQUE TRAFFIC - The measurement of how unique a particular traffic is gives the amount of different visitors that will see your clients site within that campaign. i.e. 5,000 unique visitors are 5,000 different individual IPs/browsers. Many companies will offer you real visitors but how many of them are actually offering unique traffic?]

- 12 to 24 HOURS UNIQUE - This traffic works on the principle that over a 12/24 hour period only the unique visitors will be counted. So for example, if someone purchases 10,000 - 24 hour unique mainstream visitors and in a 24 hour period receives 2,000 visitors, but only 1,000 are unique. Only 1,000 will count towards the campaign. The stats will show the delivered visitors and also the unique visitors.

- 100% UNIQUE - 100% unique is obviously as good as it gets. If for example someone buys a 10,000 - 100% unique campaign, they will receive 10,000 unique visitors. The stats will show the delivered visitors and also the unique visitors.

RAW TRAFFIC - Raw traffic has NO uniqueness. This will obviously always be the cheapest to buy. Where a particular traffic package has no uniqueness in its title you should assume the traffic is raw.

The next type of traffic we'll talk about is - EXPIRED DOMAIN TRAFFIC. Or "Re-Directed traffic".

When someone creates a website, they generally register a domain name to go along with it. The owner of that website must pay a nominal fee every year to keep their domain name (about $9-$30, depending on where they bought the name). If the owner does not pay the annual fee, the domain registrar will put the name on hold. With most registrars, an "on hold" domain stops working.

Most registrars allow an additional grace period of 30-90 days for the domain owner to pay the annual fee. During this period, the registrar will generally contact the domain owner many times with attempts to get them to pay the fee and reactivate the domain name. If the domain owner fails to pay on time, and fails to respond during the 30-90 day hold period, the registrar will drop the domain name. At this point, anyone can register the name. On the assumption that the previous owner no longer wants the dropped name, a traffic reseller can pick up and register the name if they feel it will generate traffic.

Everyday abandoned domain names, [where the previous owners either listed them on search engines, on lists or marketed them], which are generating traffic already, are purchased with the main purpose to either resell that traffic or redirect that traffic to multiple websites. After a traffic reseller owns the name, they can direct it to their server and send out the traffic it generates to the campaigns they serve. These domain names had a previous website on them that fits into specific targeted category niches. All resellers have to do is redirect that traffic coming from these websites to your website so you now reap the benefits of the hard work and traffic flow the previous domain name owner created. Expired Domain traffic is the very best, clean traffic.

Next in line is - KEYWORD TARGETED POP-UNDER TRAFFIC.
Keyword Targeted Pop-Unders work like this - the visitor goes to a random search site where the traffic reseller has placed a listing for various search words/category matches. The visitor performs a search for example 'DOG' and returns the results where for example the listing is sitting in the #2 position. The visitor clicks the link of the listing the traffic reseller has placed and receives 2 sites. One opens as a site relevant to the subject link he clicked (might be another link list leading to various other sites ,or an ad-page, or another client site,or...), and the second site opens as a popunder.

At this point when the client has clicked on the search result link; there is a lot going on the visitor does not see but is integral to the process. When the visitor clicks the link, the link code points back to the traffic reseller's adserver for a page they have in a category relevant to the link. This page is coded so that when it opens--it spawns a second window in the form of a popunder. The contents of that popunder window is determined again by code in the HTML that calls for a site from the traffic reseller's adserver. The content is matched against the original keyword result link clicked and the keyword match of the site in the adserver causing the specific site to load as the content of the popunder

The potential success of this traffic type is that the visitor really wants to see the type of site he sees and thus has greater interest potential. He has searched for the specific site/category, he has seen the results and clicked a link thru to a site extremely similar in description and virtually identical in keyword, and then they was exposed to a second site (the client's site) that is relevant to what they originally searched for and spawned in a manner where it will be the final window they view and thus the last in the browsing session.

Keyword Targeted Pop-Unders can be targeted to bring traffic by using keywords, different categories, by specific language, or by specific Country. And, it comes with full stats so you can keep track of your campaign activity!

Last but not least; I want to talk about some of the limitations of using POP-traffic. You will find that most traffic resellers state these limitations in their Terms and Conditions; in clear view on their sites:
No other window of any type can be spawned internal or external of the target URL. The sites you submit may not contain any pop window (i.e exit pages, java pops, pop-ins, fly-ins, pop-unders, etc.).
No redirectors, scripts that change the home page settings, message boxes, download boxes, are NOT allowed
no hate/illegal/adult--All PG rated content.
No warez, virus, trojan, auto-downloads, framebreakers, or browser-altering allowed.
NO SOUND/NOISE on the page you are targeting.
Before they start a campaign for you, they thoroughly check to see if any of these "traps" are on the site, and they do refuse service to any sites they determine are inappropriate for their network.

Now while banning the presence of most of these "traps" listed above are valid, the NO sound/noise and the NO pop-up/under limitations that most traffic resellers enforce do stop A LOT of website businesses from using POP-traffic.

AUDIO is OKAY! is the **new** solution! "AUDIO is OKAY", the latest addition to the mainstream form of traffic, allows owners of websites with audio/sound and/or 1 Pop-Up or Pop-Under to buy and use POP-traffic to generate visitors! This new sound and pop-allowance traffic campaign format is in demand for the many website businesses that are using the latest media tools such as movies, talking, or music presentations that start automatically on the front page.

Website promotion specialists can use POP-traffic to expose your business to millions of users with the most cost effective packages. They can deliver guaranteed visitors directly to your website 24/7. Whether you are looking to establish a presence on the Internet, or are just interested in branding your site, they can be your very own online advertising solution.

Show me yours, I'll show you mine...

That's exactly what traffic exchanges are; you agree to look at the websites of others, and they look at yours. Traffic Exchanges are clean and "family friendly". Almost all traffic exchanges have a free membership option. All of them have inexpensive upgrades.

Here's the deal, with free memberships you exchange your time looking at websites, buy the upgrade, and you get more visits in less time. Like the offline world, it's time or money. Many exchanges offer excellent bonuses and services for paid upgrades and are worth the upgrade 98% of the time. All traffic exchanges will pay you for referrals who upgrade, making TE's an very affordable advertising source.

Do traffic exchanges really work?

Yep. You have to know a little bit of how to use them, and pick exchanges that deliver quality traffic. I suggest that you use exchanges of 30,000 or more members. I have a personal preference for "TE's" with a clean, well designed interface. Good customer service is important. For many new online marketers, traffic exchanges are the first place they start, so if you have something that is targeted to "newbies" traffic exchanges are an ideal place for that.

Maximize your traffic exchange advertising:

1) You are marketing to other marketers. Make your landing page appeal to people like yourself who work from home.

2) Always advertise a capture or signup page. Offer something free or very low cost. Make sure your page loads fast. Rememeber, people will see your page for only 10-15 seconds. Cluttered pages with all of your affiliate links will get you nothing.

3) Make sure your capture page is tied to a quality autoresponder.

4) Start out with one or two traffic exchanges (TEs). Add more as you understand them.

5) If you are really working these strategies, you will create quite a list of affiliate links and passwords. I use the same username for everything. I also keep a document or Excel spreadsheet so they are all in one place.

6) Use tabbed browsing to build up your credits. I spend about 30 minutes each day surfing. I do this during conference calls, while watching TV, listening to audio trainings, etc. You will not see significant responses from your traffic exchange advertising unless you do thousands of credits.

7) Traffic Exchanges are an excellent source of marketing ideas. Some just list your site. Others like Traffic Swarm and Instant Buzz help you develop your ad writing skills. Instant Buzz will actually track your conversion rates. This gives you an excellent way to test your pay-per-click (PPC) writing skills!

8) Use some of your traffic exchange credits to advertise your other Traffic exchange or list building links.

9) Many TEs are also downline builders. That means that not only do you get increased credits for referrals, you will now have a opt-in list that you can promote your primary business too.

10) Autosurf exchanges are a waste of time. Don't bother.

11) Traffic exchanges with longer timers (20 seconds or more) give you more exposure.

Online marketers seem to have a love-hate relationship with traffic exchanges. New traffic exchanges come online everyday. Maximize your traffic exchange and you can develop a highly targeted opt-in list quickly and inexpensively.

In Today's market, autoresponders are required. If you market online without an autoresponder, you're wasting your time. They automate followup, and allow you to stay in touch. It's been said that the customer needs to see your name at least 7 times before they respond in most cases. It is impossible to manage a large database without autoresponders.

Before you start using autoresponders, choose a reliable autoresponder company. Check with their delivery rates. Can they get through AOL, YAHOO, and Hotmail?
Is there system easy to learn? Can you do HTML emails? How easy is it for your prospects to unsubscribe? Can you export or import your database? If you buy leads, can you import them? Is there an affiliate program? Once you've got your autoresponder system in place, you are ready to roll!

Here are some creative ways to use your autoresponder. It's more than just email.

1. Collect leads with your autoresponder. All autoresponder providers can create opt-in forms that you can put on your website. These leads will be placed right into the autoresponder list you choose. Hint: free email addresses like YAHOO, or AOL have the highest bounce rate.

2. Don't just "sell". Write your autoresponders as though you were writing a friend. Offer good content. Only include 1 link, but incorporate it at least twice in the body of your email. Of course use the merge codes to personalize your email whenever possible.

3. Publish free reports in autoresponder format. The reports should be related to your business or web site. Giving away free stuff will quickly increase your traffic.

4. Collect vital customer satisfaction information by publishing a survey in autoresponder format. This type of information will help you serve them better.

5. Instead of answering every customer question that's e-mailed to you, publish " Frequently Ask Questions" in autoresponder format. This will save time and money.

6. You could publish your testimonials or endorsements in autoresponder format if you don't have the room in your ad copy. Testimonies that go to your prospect over time keep building importance in the prospects mind. Keep testimonials short - a paragraph at the most.

7. Provide back issues of your e-zine archives in auto-responder format. This will give your subscribers and web site visitors easy access to them.

8. Publish your entire web site in autoresponder format. Sometimes visitors don't have enough time read your entire site. They could print it out and read it offline.

9. You could offer your ebook in autoresponder format. After they opt-in, email your e-book in a series of chapters. Your visitors won't have to download it or have the software to read it right away.

10. You could publish the terms and conditions to any business transactions in autoresponder format. This could include return policies, purchases, refunds etc.

11. Automate thank you notes, order confirmations and reminders to reorder. Make sure that your "thank you" notes are in a friendly tone. Customers will appreciate your excellent followup.

If you want steady income lead generation content is your key to income via Your know how to generating highly targeted leads. Lead Generation content is the healthy pumping heart blood of residual income for your inter net business. And your off line business by building a web site partnership with the internet.

This article represents many thousands of dollars from my business experience. Seminars, e-books, training on line, business opportunities. Many of which are good and bad. Read it carefully and learn from my experience and mistakes.

Good sales are joined to the hip of your business lead generation content income in increasing or starting your business profits. Anyone who does not focus on targeted sales lead generation will soon find their residual income dries up real fast.

It is as simple as shaking hands hand in the pockets friendly conversation with your leads. Belly to belly talk over a shopping cart in the food market or at a Chicago Cubs baseball game.

Also in your prospects home or office. You can be friendly and relaxed because you know your stuff!

Most online entrepreneurs end up quitting because they do not understand exactly how to get leads. Success or failure is frequently a fine line, as little as one word or even one letter that draws interested leads to respond and buy. It all comes down to oral or typed content from your unique voice life and skill training.

They can be sought for mortgage lead generation,
insurance lead generation and MLM lead generation.

Just about any sales lead generation topic for your small or large business you may be seeking. If you are in the advertising lead generation business you are specializing in getting leads from anyone.

You are seeking a targeted lead, name and information for someone who is interested in your client product as a possible customer or team member. With target marketing there are many different types of leads.

The cream of the crop leads are qualified by your personal content communications to them and know why they are seeking you out. Qualified leads are the names of people who have raised their hand with an interest in your business or product. The mass mistake many advertising agencies make is not getting straight to the point.

You and I as leads want this. Right? We do not want to play games. We want to know where is the best quality broccoli or automobile at the best price with the least hassle.

We have either requested information when seeing your lead content article on an article directory or specialized product web site. Ad agencies helping you advertise on line or off line by different means of advertising. They try to find pre sold leads interested in buying your product, enlisting in your cause,or joining you in business.

These leads are your diamonds in the rough because they have the most targeted qualification. These people are the highest probability leads to buy or sign up with you. This is based on your content to project out like fish lures in the lake to them.

Some leads will drive you nuts with intensive indecisiveness and just want someone to rant to. Let these time wasters go real quick. You will learn to recognize them fast, I promise you. You get them by using the wrong content fish lure for them.

It is okay if someone has a lot of questions. You must be able to answer their questions. These leads are sincere and very interested and are not interested in wasting your time or theirs and are being careful how they spend their money. This is how long term leads like to buy and be sold. Good lead generation content@

Another important aspect about leads is they must be current. Old leads soon forget they responded to an ad and will get very angry with you.

Old leads will be cheap. This is like taking a medicine that is cheap and may or may not be the right thing for you. Let it go. Old leads have incorrect contact information that results in wasted time and money.

Some old lead lists will work but you have to work them very hard to sell them. It is Not worth the price to work leads like this.

Lead generation content makes it light years easier to get highly targeted leads. Clearly state your story and they will pursue you instead of you having to work yourself to death to pursue them.

Leads are generated in different ways. Offline leads can come from telemarketing, talking to people and advertising. If you like pain and angry people giving you a peace of their mind all day, this is a way to get leads.

Well, maybe not. Telemarketing is virtually outdated and even illegal now in many states because it was not done properly in the first place.

Online leads come from advertising, quality and qualified web pages, email capturing and writing free content articles for article directories and your web site pages. There are other ways to get leads though these are some of the more popular at this time. Videos are currently very popular and effective if they are done well.

You can buy leads. Buying leads is very risky. Almost all of my experience with this has resulted in no hungry leads. They are a bad risk. Many sources are rip offs. Unless you are a super sales lady or gentleman forget about it.

Frequently, bought leads are not current. Sales men and women will tell you anything to get you to buy. If you do not believe me now you will find this out with experience. One time I bought 40 million leads for forty dollars. Not one sale from this. Get the picture now?

Some other methods are better because they are current, qualified leads. Notice the word method from the previous sentence. Make the lead chase you is absolutely the best way to get them. Be so honest with leads that it hurts and you are afraid to lose the sale. Use great lead generation content from your own life experience and training.

People respond to the honestly presented business or specific product. They know what it is and they are ready to either buy or sign up. They are almost friends with you when they buy. They give you free warm leads if you give them personal, heart felt, true, passionate content about your product be it on or off line.

The cheapest way to get good leads is to pass out business cards with your business clearly stated on them. This is very slow and definitely works. Cheap quality sources for business cards are available to you online.

So now I hope you, for the sake of your own peace and sanity, believe me that the highest targeted leads come from those brought to you by personal lead generation content to earn residual income. You blow your horn in your personal knowledge and training niche about the advantages of your product in an intensely truthful way, giving all the good and bad. Leads will believe and respect you if you give both sides honestly.

Lead generation content web pages and articles stay on the inter net virtually forever. So, you will have a permanent, quality free ad once the article is submitted to publishers and onto your web pages.

These leads are the highly targeted keys to making a good income. Targeted leads are the fuel to earning a top residual income. Am I harping on this enough so you are starting to believe me?

Press releases are very good for generating leads but cost more. If you are serious about your business have a pro do it for you. Have them submit them for best results. There are too many knowledge tricks that can trip you up

Good lead generation software leads, who know exactly what you are up to, generate sales and sign ups to make a residual income for you. They will generate valuable word of mouth advertising for you. No advertising is better than satisfied lead content generation customers, none. Got it?

I do guarantee you that good or bad leads will make or break your business. Entrepreneur business, or cause, owners need to understand what a lead good is and where to get, not find, them. Let them find you for best results.

Successful business owners take the time to generate targeted leads who chase them. To be sure they are good. The next step is to take the leads, give them honest information, and turn them into steady residual income partners for and with you.

There's only one secret to successful marketing, whether online or offline, and it's a secret that the successful learn early.

Here it is: it's THE NUMBERS.

The numbers are the reason you keep getting emails for vitamins and personal care products in your Inbox. Spammers know about the numbers. They know that if they send out a million email messages, they will get enough responses to more than make it worth their while to send the messages.

Whatever marketing you do, as long as you do it consistently, your marketing (and your business) will be a success. The results will be the same, whether your marketing consists of advertising, or whether it's marketing which costs you nothing except the investment of time.

Tip: Consider bootstrap marketing

The biggest mistake you can make is to borrow money to start your business, or to keep it going if it can't pay for itself. "Bootstrapping" means that the business pays its own bills. In other words, if you don't have someone paying you for your products, you don't have a business. Until you have an income, focus on marketing which costs you nothing except time.

Bootstrap marketing is ideal for Internet marketers. Here's how it works: you decide that you will spend a percentage of your business's income on marketing, say 20 per cent. This means that once your business has earned a thousand dollars, you can spend $200 on advertising.

How the numbers work in Internet marketing:

The numbers work simply. They say if you keep marketing, you will get a response. Many new marketers stop their marketing efforts too early. Good salespeople know that if you approach enough people, you will sell your product, no matter what it is you're selling.

A marketer who's aware of the numbers is not bothered when his marketing plan doesn't bear fruit within a month. He doesn't expect it to. He knows that although he won't see many results in months one and two, the payoff comes in month three, and thereafter.

Create a new marketing plan:

A marketing plan is a road map, a guide to what you plan to do to market your business. It's essential, and it doesn't need to be complicated. Your marketing plan can be written on the back of an index card, but it's vital you create one, preferably before you start your business. If you've been working in your business and don't have a plan, take a few minutes to create one.

Your plan tells you what marketing you'll be doing and when. For example, let's say that you've just started your online business. You've got a Web site, and you're creating a marketing plan for the first twelve months. Your business hasn't yet earned its first thousand dollars, so all your marketing need to be investments of your time.

You decide that:

- For the next month, you'll market via chatrooms, discussion boards, and other online venues. You won't overtly market your business, you'll simply include your URL at the conclusion of your messages;

- In month two, you'll create an ezine for your business. To get people to sign up for the ezine, you'll write a 10-page report. The report will be on a topic you know well, whether it's barbecue recipes, or investing in time shares;

- In month three, you'll add content to your Web site. This content will be focused around the area of your products;

- And so on.

Keep thinking up ways to market for twelve months.

When you've completed the plan, get out your calendar. Block off sufficient time to carry out your first-month marketing plan. Do some marketing daily. If you can't spend more than half an hour, that's fine. If you can spend a couple of hours, that's fine too. What counts, is consistency. Spend half an hour a day, working your marketing plan for the next twelve months.

Can you change your marketing plan? Yes, if you wish. But only if the you're consistent in your new marketing ideas. Remember, it's the numbers. You must be consistent, even dogged. Don't let anything distract you from the simple process of working on the numbers.

Whatever stage your business is in, remember the numbers. If you do, you cannot fail. You will succeed beyond your wildest dreams.

If you are new to internet marketing, or maybe looking for away to expand your business Google Adwords is a great way to take your business to a whole new level. However most people today do not understand how Google Adwords works, and how it can benefit them, but at the same time burn them if they are not careful.

First let go over what Google Adwords is. When ever you go and do a search on the internet in Google you will see to the top and right hand side short little ads. Those ads are Google Adwords, and people pay for their ad to be shown on the page. Now anyone of any skill level can go and open up an account and have their ads shown as well.

Now that we know what everything is lets talk about just how much you would have to pay to have your ad shown for keywords.

After you make and account with Google you then need to create an ad. You will be asked to write in keywords that you would like your ad to be displayed for. Now this is where it can get a bit tricky, and might cost a lot of money. Depending on how popular your keywords are they may cost a lot of money, or it they could cost almost nothing. Again though it all has to do with how popular your keywords are, and how many times they get searched.

You may find that some keywords cost as little as ten cents while others could cost as much as two dollars or even more! That is why most people say its better to use what are called keyword search phrase.

Here is the difference between a keyword and a keyword phrase. With a normal keyword for example like work at home you will probably spend a good amount of money because its popular, and gets an enormous amount of searches each month. Now if you used a more detailed keyword that might have more words in it like moms work at home full time job might be a bit cheaper for the simple fact that its longer and its not as popular was the keyword work at home.

Now that you know the basics of Google Adwords and how it works you should have a better understanding of how to setup a good campaign. Just make sure that at first you do not over do it, and that you set a daily budget to something you can afford to spend.

Advertising is probably the single most important aspect of any business but this is especially true of the home business. One of the reasons for that is because its not out in the open where everyone can see that you have a business, so the only way they are going to find out is by reading your advertisements. Its important to know how to utilize advertising to your advantage and how to use it in a way that will be the most beneficial for your business.

It does not matter if your home business is online and simply a concept that you operate from home such as a hair salon, child care center, remodeling business or any other kind of business that does not require you to have an office away from home. Depending upon the nature of your business, you may find that certain types of advertising models work better than others. For example, if your business is based in your local area, you may find that local media advertisements work best.

This advertising scheme may include radio advertisements, televisions advertising, flyers, newsletters, direct mailing and even personal contact with those who might benefit from your expertise. On the other hand, if you have an online business you may have better luck with email advertisements such as opt in lists or even a signature line in every email you send out, notification to those you know will be interested, classified advertisements and other types of online advertising schemes.

Advertising is also likely to be one of your most important expenses. If you want your business to succeed, do not take short cuts with advertising costs. Many people, especially when it concerns an online business, try to get by with free advertising sites and though this may save you money in the beginning, it will cost you in the end. After all, you know that you get what you pay for. So free ads are not likely to produce the same results as a paid advertisement.

In the case of online ads, the paid ads get a better spot in the advertising scheme and often have bold headings and special ranking that puts them in front for everyone to see. Even with newspaper advertising, you get a different type of advertisement for a higher price and the key is to draw attention to your advertisement and make people want to read it. If you have a website, you have the best advertising tool that the Internet has to offer.

The right website gives you the highest rankings with the search engines and thus assures you that more people will see your presence. By the law of averages, the more people who visit your site, the better the chances that someone is going to be interested in the goods or services you have to sell. You may only have one chance to make it work, so make it your best effort.

Why do people start Podcasting?

The short and sweet answer is that you can reach a target audience and share your message at a very low cost to you.

For organizations or individuals, this means that you can create your very own syndicated radio show and deliver it over the Internet to attentive and permissive listeners.

That being said, this is a great way for businesses to market their products or services, educational facilities to deliver on-demand e-learning, organizations to promote their causes or activities, corporations to provide off-site training, or even individuals to share their knowledge about a specific topic.

Right now, I'm reading a book by Seth Godin called "All Marketers Are Liars", and I'd like to share a tidbit from the book with you that I feel applies directly to how you can market through podcasting.

Consider what it was like for people in the Golden Age of Advertising. Companies would readily spend all of their advertising dollars and throw money at the super medium of television to market directly to all television viewers in the country.

More often than not, even an average product, if marketed well, would make some kind of a profit and the products that were remarkable or exceptionally useful would enjoy incredible amounts of success.

As TV become more complex with expanded channel offerings, it became harder for companies to have a presence on all stations (there weren't just 3 any more) and with that, it suddenly was not as easy to reach customers who were once more than willing to believe whatever mass media was telling them.

What happened?

The seemingly permeable exteriors of consumers grew thicker and less susceptible to advertising. People quickly realized what the difference was between being marketed to and choosing to believe something presented on television for themselves.

They became pickier and demanded that products met their own desires, wants and standards, not the other way around. This period of time or cycle was called the Dark Days if you will.

Marketers, not to be left behind for too long a duration, emerged with a new way of getting the attention of the people they had once lost through the old regime of television advertising by creating stories and weaving their way through to communities who already accepted what they had to say thereby planting their flag in a smaller, but more receptive niche that would embrace the stories they told and spread them to others about their product or service.

By telling stories that people chose to believe for themselves, they weren't simply advertising anymore, they were marketing (they aren't the same thing, as you already know or will come to realize).

Those people would readily talk about the product or service and refer it to their friends, family members and co-workers.

As their adoption rate grew and enthusiasm for the product or service became apparent to those outside of the niche (spreading to the mainstream or significantly close to it, to be exact), the acceptance of the product would also increase its reach and gather new customers who had also adopted the product as a useful, essential part of their lives. This is where we are today.

Marketers, and to a great degree, Podcasters, are required to create stories that people identify with, tell themselves, and choose to believe. Seth Godin calls these stories "lies", but he soon reveals that they aren't really lies at all.

The only requirement other than good storytelling is that these stories that are told need to be true and that an audience or group of people needs to accept the story as truth.

A good example of this is "I only listen to X podcast because they have the most reliable information", or "This product is better because it's the safest on the market".

Those are both stories that may very well be true that engage a listener and get them to spread your message for you.

Without knowing the background and mindset behind the evolution of marketing and consumers of the 20th and 21st centuries, it would be a frustrating task indeed to build an audience and experience success as a Podcaster.

Just as with marketing, success in podcasting can be measured by the number of people who are listening to or are subscribed to your podcast. Also, the more people they tell or the more subscribers there are, the more impact and exponential your reach and influence will be.

That is a Marketers goal and it should be yours as a Podcaster too, otherwise why podcast, even if just as entertainment for your friends, in the first place?

Marketing can be as simple as a passing phrase of referral, a mention of a source, or wearing a piece of clothing. Marketing is everywhere and we all do it to a degree, whether we're conscious of the fact or not.

Whenever you have an audience, you are marketing.

Therefore, Podcasting is Marketing, and you are very fortunate that in this endeavor you are equipped with the most powerful marketing tool of all - the persuasiveness of the human voice, an instrument that is second to none when it comes to communicating and conveying a message.

If you haven't realized it yet, your voice is a marketing tool, the most organic, universal, and influential on earth.

That's why there's an entire industry of people known as professional voice actors who are hired to record messages, commercials, training videos, audio books, narration for documentaries, sales pitches, business presentations, animation voice overs, video game character voices, telephone systems, and more.

No matter how fabulous your affiliate marketing site is, if you don't have traffic, there will be no money coming your way, and your online home business will struggle. This fact goes without saying.

Now how do you get traffic to your site? This is where search engines come in to play. It is important to understand them and keep your site optimized so they can find you. Don't think search engines are just for people who look for info!

If you do some quick searching about the sites that rank the highest on the search engines, you will notice that they are listed not by size, but by relevance to your search.

It is important to understand that you must optimize your pages with the right keywords to enable these search engines to find your affiliate marketing site first when someone looks for the particular keyword. This is what is called search engine optimization, and that should be the goal for every online home business that wants to succeed.

How The Search Engines Work

Search engines scan the text on your page and check for relevance to the search term, so make sure that your affiliate marketing content not only persuades your customer to buy, but persuades the search engines that it is relevant!

So, write your content measuring about 500 words a page and have your keywords appearing 4- 8 times per page. Don't pop in your keywords in places where they don't fit, and don't over saturate your site with the keywords. Ensure that the text flows smoothly around it.

Your content can be text-only pages consisting of tips and how-to articles with keywords relevant to your online home business. These also turn up in the search engines and give you some opportunities for link exchanges. All this helps you rank your website higher in the search engines.

Choosing the right keywords makes all the difference in the world. The right keywords can get the right people to your website, people who are interested in your information and products.

Submitting Your Online Home Business Website To Search Engines

Submitting your websites to search engines comes next. Once you submit your home page, the search engine's spider, and follows all your homepage links and includes your other pages as well. The search engine stores millions of web pages in its database. When the visitor enters a keyword or keyword phrase into the search form of the search engine, the most relevant information will decide which web sites get picked up by the query.

Whichever pages the search engine finds most relevant will be listed first. This will determine where you will be listed upon search requests.

In affiliate marketing, as well as any online home business, getting ranked high in the search engines should be top priority. Unlike pay per click, when someone clicks on your site from the natural search engine results, you don't pay a dime. I's free advertising!

When you have a serious business, you know very well that your advertising is something you have to focus on to make sure that you are getting as much business as possible. If you are trying to advertise your business, you want to be sure that this is something you can do. One of the best ways that you can advertise is to try to do it without spending loads of money, because if you spend more money on advertising then your earning, it isn't going to be worth it.

There are several ways that you can advertise inexpensively. The best thing that you can do is to focus on the free advertising that is readily available to you. If you have an online business, this can be even easier, as long as you are willing to take the time to do it. If you can go to chat rooms, blogs, or other interesting places and keep your website or your business name as your signature, even if that is only seen by a few people it is still a free ways to advertise. You can also post your name on various threads and in various places that will allow you to post your website.

By large, advertising online is usually very cheap. The key is to find a place online where lots of your customers are going to go. In order to do this, you have to be sure that you know who your demographic is and who is using your business. This might require some work on your part. Once you have identified who the people are that are using your business, you can go to other sites that these people are also going to be using, and you can advertise on these sites, quite easily.

The other way to advertise cheaply is by word of mouth. This might require you to be online for a long time, simply going to sites and talking about your business and how good it is. This is something that requires time and energy, but in the end you will find that it is actually a very inexpensive way to advertise.

If you have the time and money, you can also advertise out in the world, not only on the internet. This is something that you can do by way of posters, billboards and flyers and by other methods as well. The main idea is that you should find out where your customers are going to be, and locate them, whether it is in the real world or whether it is online. Once you have located your customers, you can go ahead and start advertising in ways that they are going to understand, and ways that they are going to be able to take advantage of.

Giant Sales! Unique and Innovative Products! New and Improved Systems! There is nothing quite like a hanging banner to get your message out about your business, service or event. When people are looking for a new product, they watch for these signs. Providing flexibility and affordable portability, the visually appealing attraction invites potential clients to your trade show booth, where they will look over your products and services. Banners are the ideal choice to get your message across, because they are versatile enough to be used horizontally and vertically, both in and out of doors. With bright fields of bold color and clear messages, banners can make or break your sales projections.

Easy to set up and take down, product and advertising banners can make the difference when getting that elusive sale. A dynamic booth is a sure draw for potential clients. Modular setups are easy for any novice assembler to put in place; all you have to do is open the package, pull up the vertical banner and you're ready to go. Eye-catching displays that use easy-to-read messages work well to enhance visual impact and bring people closer to your booth.

Another way to get your message across at trade shows is to use smaller stands that also double as information depots. This way, brochures, business cards and other promotional materials can be made available to people passing by. Some vertical banners even have pouches or brochure holders mounted directly to the face to allow the message to get across as well.

Vertical banners also offer a smaller legroom in and around your booth while still getting your message out there. If you'd like even more room in your booth, then overhead banners will work better for you. It's always important that potential clients don't feel "closed in" when they visit your booth at the trade show. Comfort invites conversation, and talk is money in the world of new business.

Research well to find out what messages will catch peoples' attention. Using "NEW" and "IMPROVED" and other phrases like "INNOVATIVE" will bring the curious consumers to your booth. Using vertical stands on either side of your booth with another across the top is a great way to promote your product. People like to see that you care enough to spend money on promoting your products. It makes them feel secure and it lets them know that you're going to be around for a while. Don't be afraid to ask the people who drop by your booth what attracted them to your area. It might give you quite a bit of insight into how better to spend your promotion dollar at the next trade show you attend.

Create It Displays manufactures portable trade show display booths, podiums, tables, literature racks.

Internet marketing is quickly becoming one of the most popular advertising options available. The Internet reaches a worldwide audience and is available 24 hours a day. For this reason more and more potential customers are turning to the Internet for a variety of reasons including researching products and services and making purchases.

As more and more consumers turn to the Internet for these reasons, it is important for businesses to establish an online presence. This is so important because failure to do so may result in their competitors gaining an edge over them in competing for sales. While it is important for business to begin Internet marketing campaigns it is also important for these same businesses to realize basic advertising principles still exist cannot be neglected. Most importantly those who advertise online have to be aware of who their target audience is and how to reach this audience.

As with any marketing campaign, business owners should do some market research before they launch their Internet marketing campaign. Ideally this will involve hiring a research consultant with a great deal of experience in conducting and evaluating this type of market research. The results of this research should determine the basic demographical information for the target audience. The results should also include information on how to reach this target audience.

A business that cannot afford to hire a consultant to conduct this market research should still make an effort to obtain this information on their own. This can be done through informal polls of current clients. This information may not be as comprehensive as the information obtained in a more formal study but it can still provide a great deal of insight into the best way to reach the target audience.

Once this information is obtained, it is important to tailor the Internet marketing campaign to appeal to the target audience. There are a number of different variables which can be modified to ensure the right message is reaching the right people in a manner they can understand and in which they can relate.

Some of the ways in which your Internet marketing campaign can be tailored in this way include the aesthetics of your website or advertisements, the wording of your copy and the use of more advanced design features such as audio and visual or interactive tools.

The aesthetic appeal of a website can greatly contribute to how the website is viewed by the members of the target audience. A website which is designed to attract the attention of an older generation with more conservative tastes should include muted colors, clean design and conservative graphics. This will help to ensure the target audience enjoys the website. Conversely if you are looking to appeal to a younger audience with more liberal viewpoints you might chose to design the website with bold colors, eye catching graphics and creative design features.

The copy you include on your website should also take your target audience into consideration. Consider the examples of a conservative and a liberal audience listed above to create a better understanding of how the copy on your website can appeal to the target audience. When marketing to a more conservative audience, the copy should be tailored to use formal language and use facts to back up viewpoints. However, when you are marketing to a more liberal audience or a younger audience you can consider using less formal language which is likely to appeal to the target audience. You can also focus more on emotion to express viewpoints.

Finally, when a website is created for the purposes of Internet marketing it is important for the design of the website to appeal to the target audience. You may wish to include audio and video clips on your website but these clips should appeal to the target audience.

For example if your website sells skateboards you might consider incorporating audio clips from punk rock bands as opposed to country music bands. There may be some skateboarders who enjoy country music but in general punk rock music more closely represents the skating culture. Keeping these details in mind is very important for Internet marketing.

If every one who reads a newspaper read all of the advertisements carefully, the benefits of advertising would be multiplied many times. Unfortunately for the advertiser, this is not the case. Many readers give but scant attention to the advertising columns and others ignore them altogether. A great many ways have been devised by ingenious merchants to attract attention to their advertisements.

To accomplish this end, one merchant conceived the idea of marking his ads with a blue pencil. By arrangement with the publishers of the paper, he had a boy to encircle his ad with a blue pencil mark in each copy of the paper as it came from the press. The plan worked very well for the first few times as every one thought the advertisement was marked especially for him. Of course this scheme could not be used with a paper which has a large circulation nor could it be used a great number of times.

In the same way another advertiser had bright red posters stuck in a blank space in the middle of his ad. The brilliant spot of color caught the reader's eye immediately, but this scheme also would be found impracticable except with a paper of small circulation.

The weather indications printed regularly in an advertisement will influence many readers to turn to that particular ad and some merchants print the daily base ball scores, which answers the same purpose.

For a number of years an Eastern merchant drew attention to his advertisements in an unusual way. Each day there appeared at the top of his ad a humorous observation on some current event of national or local importance. These "squibs" were always bright and witty and after a while they came to be looked for regularly by almost every one who read the papers in which they appeared. They were written by a newspaper man who was probably paid a good price for them. It would be difficult to say whether the advertiser derived any real benefit from this scheme, but it is probable that he did. At any rate he got quite a bit of general advertising.

A grocer set apart a small space in one corner of his advertisement in which he published daily a cooking receipt. The receipts were carefully selected and were always seasonable. This would no doubt appeal to the housewife. Another advertiser published a conundrum daily with the answer in the following day. The conundrums were for the most part originated by himself or were old ones twisted about to suit his purpose. All of them were made in some way to apply to the store, and as most people are more or less interested in riddles, these furnished considerable amusement and talk. They probably served very well the purpose for which they were intended.

Another plan that has been used frequently is to offer a reward to the first person who discovers and reports a misspelled word or typographical error appearing in an advertisement. To add to the interest of this scheme, words are sometimes misspelled purposely. A scheme that is popular just now is to offer prizes for the best rhymes or jingles written about the store.

In fact there is no end to the variety of schemes employed to induce the attention of the reading public. On the other hand, many advertisers will have nothing to do with devices of this sort. They consider such methods as undignified and outside the pale of legitimate advertising. We are disinclined to agree with them in that respect.

Of course dignity in advertising is all well enough, but it can be easily overdone. Many advertisements which the writer fondly believes to be dignified are, as a matter of fact, most commonplace and prosy. Advertising is a matter of business, not of sentiment, and the best advertising is that which yields the best returns in dollars and cents. Any straightforward, honest scheme which serves to draw attention to an advertisement is legitimate and permissible.

If you are going to build yourself a solid and steady business you need to learn how to generate a constant stream of interested inquiries. These generated inquiries, or leads, will help you build a residual income for your business. They are the true marketing route to building your steady business.

If you cannot get leads to buy from you there will be no sales or profit for your home based business. This is the failure or success factor, that cannot be overlooked.

This is the make it or break it factor for your success, without exception. You might as well quit if you cannot get them.

Leads consist of the contact information of individuals who are interested in becoming your customer, team member or cause donor. Different ones will cost you differently and, of course, give different results. The best responses are generated or qualified ones who have raised their hand after seeing your offer in some form.

In raising their hand or responding to your published offer they are expressing more information or a sincere interest in buying something from you or joining you, sometimes as an affiliate, in your business or cause. These are the meat of your profits as they have the most interest in you and offer the greatest potential for profits.

Most leads will have a casual interest and will be difficult to sell to or get to sign up as affiliates or members. The more current they are the more positive responses you will get. The possible exception here is sometimes interested leads that are not contacted or worked.

When old leads are generated that show a sincere interest they can still be good if they were properly gathered. Old ones will often forget an offer and even deny they were contacted and show no interest.

If they are properly solicited and correctly gathered they will often have an interest in your product or program because they have a need or natural interest in it in the first place even if they have forgotten the ad.

Residual income affiliate or product prospects can be generated in several different ways. Offline prospects come from telemarketing, which is very difficult, passing out business cards which is very easy and talking to people about your products or program. Other methods involve online and offline ads and pop up or stationary email capturing.

Offering a valuable mailing list membership or e-book are popular ways to build a mailing list. The last five years or so, this has been one of the most effective methods of selling.

You can feed good offers to your mailing list that you have built up a good rapport with and will frequently have a good response. The better the offers the better your response will be. Your list will grow better as you constantly feed them quality offers.

You can buy leads but the failure rate of bought leads is very high. Frequently they are worthless. They will have wrong contact info or no interest in your offer. This is usually not a good way to get leads.

Some companies work with you and understand your offer before soliciting leads. This mode of prospect gathering costs just a little more but I have had good success with some different companies. They literally do your advertising as if they were working for you, which they are and do gather good prospects for you.

Other methods are good but take more time. Another way, already mentioned, is passing out business cards. Writing articles for article directories is effective, extremely cheap, and actually builds momentum over time. You can have articles made up by professional article writers if you cannot do it yourself.

Press releases can be made up for you in the same, have a pro do it for you, way as above. They cost a little more but frequently get good results. Press release writers also know where to submit your finished releases to. Let them do this task for you.

Free ads, available on many on line ad sites are fair. They cost you nothing and if you spend an hour submitting them to the many different ad sites everyday you will eventually get results.

Your risk is nothing as the only cost is your time. They will bring in leads that are qualified.

Go fishing for people areas where your product will be needed. On line forums are virtually unlimited. You can participate and carefully follow their writing rules and they will let you leave a signature file at the end of all your posts.

The signature file can clearly state what your business is. You will get interest from these and sales as well, in time.

Generating targeted and qualified leads will build your residual income business. They will give you sales and sign ups to make your business grow and be successful.

They can be used as building blocks to build your business to any level you want. You want to clearly understand what makes up a good one. The best ones are frequently the ones you develop and generate yourself with product stories and testimonials to generate more interest.

Retailers are "capturing" their elusive, on-the-go customers with Mobile Marketing programs designed to deliver real-time advertising in consumers' pockets

Today, the marketing budget of retailers has to be much more diversified than it was a decade ago. Traditional media has fallen fast in its position of effectiveness and this has forced retailers to accept that the consumer is in greater control than ever before.

Consumers today are on the move. And they rely on their cell phones to keep them informed and organized. Presently in the United States, 76% of the population uses a mobile phone, and over one half of those mobile subscribers regularly use text messaging. In fact, text messaging is the number one feature that people use on their cell phones outranking picture taking and playing music. (Pew Internet & American Life Project Associated Press and AOL). In many opinions, it may be "the most powerful advertising medium of all time" (NY Times).

Contrary to popular belief, the profile of frequent text messagers is not limited to teenagers. More and more, text messagers mirror the typical high-value retail customer. They are mostly adults 35 and over, with an annual income at or above $75,000. (American Consumer Institute).

All of the above have made text messaging the obvious choice for the next medium which retailers must manipulate if they want to keep in touch with their target consumers. Text message advertising can reach these consumers right in their pocket.

Several retailers have already jumped on the idea of text message advertising and text message coupons. The results have been very positive.

Target Corp. has been sending text message advertising to its customers since 2005. Customers opt-in to the service from the company's website and subsequently receive messages to alert them when a new fashion designer is going to have product in their stores. This has been shown to increase in-store traffic, and provide a valuable database for the company.

Uncle Ed's Oil Shoppe, out of Battle Creek Michigan uses text message advertising to send out mobile coupons. Customers send the word, "Uncleeds" to the short code WYCD1 and receive a message back telling them "This is your $5 off coupon. Show this text message at checkout". Customers love the fact that they don't have to cut anything out or remember to bring it along, because they always have their cell phone with them!

Restaurants have taken advantage of the immediacy of text messaging. For example, upon opt-in, customers can receive alerts about lunch specials right before the lunch hour. Some will even text a mobile coupon which the customer shows to their server to receive the discount or promotion.

While mobile coupons and sale alerts are among the most popular text messaging campaigns with retailers, some chains are taking to the next level. Meijer, a supercenter/grocery store chain based out of Grand Rapids, Michigan, launched a campaign to alert its customers when gas prices were about to increase. Text message advertisements are sent to customers who have registered their cell number, when gas prices are about to increase by 5 cents a gallon or more. Customers receive the messages a few hours before the increase will take place, so that they have time to fill up their tanks at the lower price.

A marketing campaign which includes text message advertising and mobile coupons can be implemented so quickly and efficiently that it can help companies be the first to market, and is less intrusive than other methods. It also makes them stand out from their competitors. Because it is an opt-in program, customers are expecting the message which improves the response. Text message advertising is truly the next wave in retail promotion.

Anthony Wayne works for a telecommunications company in Suburban Philadelphia. Anthony believes that mobile advertising is going to be the next huge thing in marketing and advertising.

What is landing page?
It is the destination URL that people will land on after clicking on your Google AdWords. Designing your landing page with an understanding of what is likely to work will get you close to optimal performance from the start. When people come to your landing page, most of them are only looking for clues to quickly fill their need. They want to know:

1. Is this the right place that I am looking for?
2. Is this how I imagined it would be?
3. Should I click the back button and find my answer elsewhere ?
4. Does this look reliable?
5. How much time is this going to take?
6. Should I accept this offer?

Understanding what people are going to do is the key to be successful. The primary goal of a good landing page is to make people take a particular action that you want them to take. When a visitor takes that desired action, you got a conversion. If you have a high conversion rate, you will make a lot of money, and your return in investment will increase as well.

Here are few tips to improve your landing pages:

1. Do not overload with unnecessary information
2. Make people feel that they have found the correct page
3. Grab people's focal point
4. Put more information on your landing page if you want to collect people's email
5. Use call-to-action phrase

Do not overload with unnecessary information

Do not give your potential customers too many options in the landing page. Let them do what you want them to do. A good approach is to limit your landing page to one primary action, inducing people to make a purchase or to request information, especially when you are paying for traffic. If it is not tightly focused on forcing people to take a particular action, they are likely to take no action, and your money will burn fast. If you can, remove the navigation bar too.

Make people feel that they have found the correct page

Anyone who comes to your landing page is looking for getting their problems solved from your page. They expect a very specific solution that is relevant to their problems. Place the words they searched for in large and bold text to show them they are in the right location. It is best to point people at a landing page instead of the home page.

Grab people's focal point

Place the most important stuff in the middle of the landing page, and never distract your user from that focal point. Avoid putting other unnecessary material. This will only make your people confuse. Do not place any Google Adsense or other ads that will make people click away. Just remember, if it is interesting and valuable, keep it close to the center and use it to direct people's eye.

Put more information if you want to collect people's email

If you want people to sign up your newsletter, do not expect people to be so excited by your offer that they immediately give you their email. Your landing page should offer a few paragraphs of information, followed by the contact forms. People always want to make sure that your newsletter is what they are looking for.

Pretend for a brief moment that you are an article. Not a physical but a storied one. You can be a force more powerful than anything in the world if you share it. Why would anyone care about you and your story of being an article? Maybe you know good ways to get along with others and have a lot of knowledge about it.

You could tell others about it and share with them what you know in your oral article. Another way to share your article is to write it down. This way it does not go away the minute you are done saying it.

You have to be careful here though. A written article could last forever and it will have your name and reputation on it.

What if someone reads your written article, 50 years from now, and learns how to get along better with others? What if he or she becomes a country leader and a planet wide influence, for the better? Your article can be more influential and a building influence now.

What if one man stops beating the hell out of his wife because his father, before him, did the same thing because he read your article and learned to let his shoulders come down, relax and behave? How would that make you feel?

What if a dictator stopped concentrating on wiping out freedom or religions other than his own and learned to build and help others rather that live on selfish greed and destroy others for reasons he or she does not understand themselves?

Would your writing be worth the effort now?

What if a brilliant scientist had an obnoxious personality and lots of solutions that mankind could use for energy or healing health care read your writing and started to work with others to build and distribute high efficiency energy machines or disease and illness cures because he learned to get along with others? See the power in this?

Are you starting to see the unlimited power of the mighty writing pen or keyboard yet? If you only know plumbing or electricity you could write down solutions in your own words, exclusively, and help others solve problems and save money and time.

If you know how to train dogs to behave better and be better company do you think you could share this knowledge with others for free by writing about it? Think of all the people who would take better care of their pets because they understood them better. They would live better because of you.

Do you know how to pick out good coffees or teas that are appropriate and even healthy for different times and occasions? Most people do not and would be grateful for your shared knowledge?

If you are a good doctor or nurse do you think you could pen down on paper or on Write on the internet and give out a good cure or relief from pain and discomfort every now and then, for free, to help others? We could know more with your help.

If you are a good online internet marketer do you possibly think you could write a paper or long note online, sometimes, and share it with everyone for free? There are many thousands of internet marketing tips to share, that work, so what would it hurt to give something away and help others out once in a while?

If you have something that works, in almost any field, maybe writing it down can give some solutions to others that would benefit them and even you in the long run. Do you think?

Even if you have something that you cannot afford to give away you can write an article about it to let others know that you have come up with a solution.
Although you are selling something you are still providing a valuable service by selling a solution and making the life of someone else a little better.

Are you starting to get the picture a little more yet? Good! Then let us continue. How about solving some or all of the problems of the world? Getting heavy here or are we?

If you wrote about how two or more countries could stop fighting and published it on the net the possibility of a solution would be born. The seed is planted. This is more powerful than a nuclear bomb.

If you started a snowball at the top of the hill that said two very different and very hostile groups to each other could get along and be friends, and how, no one could stop it. Just be careful to believe in the cause being a good one because what you start may happen.

Darwin started the theory that man came from animals and guess what? He changed his mind about it later in life and was unable to stop the snowball theories of evolution.

The lady who was the test case for the Supreme Court decision that abortion, the murder of babies, is legal started one of the fiercest fights of the twentieth and twenty first centuries. She has since completely changed her mind about abortion and now regrets her feelings then.

She can do little or nothing about it now. Or can she? Maybe if she wrote a new paper about it some people would start to feel different about it. Think?

What if Thomas Edison did not invent the incandescent light bulb and just let it pass? Would their be lights today? Yes there would.

Nicolas Tesla invented the tube lights, you likely have in your home now, over a hundred years ago. How about that! However, Nicolas did not care to write about his tube lights.

As you are likely starting to see, the pen and keyboard can be great advertising vehicles for you. You can write about things for your business to advertise them for your business.

You can write about things that get your cause beliefs points out of you and into the open communications world to get your side of the opinion out. You can literally change the world, in time.

Just pick up your pen or set down at your keyboard and monitor and start writing about what you know and feel strongly about. I hope you will choose to be good because once your point gets known you can do nothing to stop it.

So start writing and changing the world right now if you really care about it.

Marketing on a Shoestring Budget

It is a daunting task when one decides to start a company. This is especially true when you are the only one working for this new enterprise. Sometimes it seems like an impossible task with all you have to do to get everything up and running, not to mention what you will have to do to make your business profitable. This is where learning to market your business on a time and money budget can come in quite handy.

Most people don't realize how important marketing can be when deciding the future of a small business. You can have all of the training and expertise to make you one of the best professionals in your areas, but if you are unable to get the word out about your business, then it cannot grow to its fullest potential.

The dawn of the computer age has brought about a certain amount of freedom when printing business cards, flyers, letterhead, and other business related materials. Many of these things you can print up on your computer at home using nothing more than Microsoft Word. For business cards, letterhead, personalized envelopes, and even bumper stickers, you can go to your local office supply store and buy a packet of reasonably priced paper products that will fit in your printer and allow you to make your own products at a fraction of the price it would cost you at a print shop.

Since marketing is all about getting the knowledge of your company out to the public, then you have to consider what the best method of accomplishing this might be. For example, if you are going to operate a dog grooming business, then you would probably want to make sure that you go around to local veterinarian hospitals and clinics. Ask them if it might be possible to post up flyers or business cards. This way you know that every dollar you spend is targeting your desired audience.

Also remember that it is important that what you do put up to be viewed by the public should look as professionally done as possible. This flyer or business card is a representative of yourself and your business. Be sure to double check for any obvious grammatical errors and make sure that all of the information listed is correct. It does not look well for you competence if your flyer has misspelled words and hand written information over the print.

There are also many places online where you can post information onto online bulletin boards. Start out by using a search engine to look for places online that specifically cater to people who may be interested in what your business may offer. Many times these types of sites will offer you the possibility of posting your information for other people to see online.

Another method of marketing is accomplished through your customers. If you have clients who are already satisfied with what you've done for them, then ask them to get the word out. The best marketing that money can't buy is word of mouth, and if enough people are happy with you, then they will tell their friends.
Don't be worried about not having a million dollar marketing budget to get your business up and running because there are many other opportunities to get the word out. Just remember that everything you post online or put up in public is an extension of your company, and as such it should be just as professional as you would want your company to come across.

Marketing work as a home business for the firm of your client may merge the company and Internet brick and mortar location together.

Do you understand this statement? Another way to say it is all Planet Earth companies need a website with article content and active email access.

One of the best ways, after having cell phones with pictures, is to connect the two with opt in e-mail. Retailers and every sort of business with many key employees use or should use this whether they are content writers or not.

Business managers, employees, coaches and consultants whose home business marketing work for that business is all Internet, or whose Internet and store location marketing are not connected are living in the antiquated, Fred Flintstone ages, by missing excellent opportunities to drive customers to both their web site and physical door.

Combining the two with email leads to more sales smoothly, faster and they can also be tracked. It saves customers financial and personal time resources and gives your business a true up to date presence.

Online and off line marketing consultants who learn to link direct email marketing campaigns, to every day correspondence, effectively will naturally find themselves with more work from more home Internet business entrepreneurs. Retailers, stock brokerages, furniture stores, accountants the list is endless need this new correspondence link.

Customers can ask questions over email links to the retailer sales floor expert or get quotes for stocks or bonds from online brokers. They can find your listed solar shingle roof supplier to have an energy producing roof installed and other unique needed information like this. The new age of niche correspondence is here.

The prime time marketing task of offering top level awareness for your clients and their traffic to their domain home page or online maps and addresses to and for their store can be done well with e-mail and web developed technology and information. No searching through hard to understand yellow page directories, and lost sales, is needed or wanted.

If your advertising work for that client involves buying a billboard you want to include the Web address. Logging on should include gathering customer information, including their email address, by offering free newsletter info that offers useful information to them. Include a coupon with the email that offers a percentage off their next purchase.

Offer a small discount on their next purchase that is given for answering ten key questions that lets you know their present and future wants and needs. You now have a great profile to shop your customers.

You want to work at marketing and making both into one, in the customers mind, so they unite to hone a profitable home business for yourself. Having an online catalog with good pictures will make your two business views one if you can entice your customers into shopping online and show them why they can also come to the brick store of your clients.

Include listing the hours and location of each of the physical stores of your client. Create an online program of preferred customers who get additional discount coupons online to be redeemed at all their stores or from the catalog on line.

Blockbuster has done a good job of this. Membership at Blockbuster dot com, at $14.95 includes unlimited videos order on the Web and delivery by mail. It includes a coupon each week for a free movie at any wood and glass Blockbuster.

All your home business client storefront locations can help with online marketing work by bringing the customers to the Internet with leaflet bag stuffers when they make any purchase.

They do this by offering useful newsletters, e-books and more discount coupons online for email addresses. Serious promises must be made to avoid spam.

Printing the URL on shopping bags, receipts and business cards with useful information like calendars, first aid and sports team schedules customers will keep is effective.

If you look at the back of a Petco, Burger King, Taco Belle or some other alert retailer receipts you will see lots of, we love you and want you back, information on them.

Web addresses and email for free information addresses should be prominently displayed on delivery and service trucks as well. Have this information with catchy, short easy to remember names with a free e-book offer as well.

E-mail, e-commerce marketing does the difficult task of bringing your home business client customers, who are traveling closer to them. It also stimulates people to buy just because the business of your client exists as an online web site presence.

Few will act right away, the more useful emails they receive from the firm the more likely they are going to buy something when their pertinent need or desire arises.

It takes seven contacts to get the average sale. Careful, steady, time spaced emails get results from the customers of your clients.

Naturally your newsletter needs to be sent at least seven times to get a sale. Have stories of customer satisfaction where their needs were met in unique ways. Have employees record them on the sales floor to send to email subscribers. People like stories.

Every email should have an agitate, problem that comes up, possible solution and suggested solutions. Teach your customers to think like you, with emails and e-books and they will come back to you over and over again forever.

An exciting and rewarding part of your home business marketing consulting work is statistical. Keep track of effective techniques for your client Internet and retail business.

Lastly, make it an exciting and fun business for your employees and managers to work with and involve them in it to get their help and cooperation.

E-mail and developing web sites with your physical presence client business will make them more sales and long term customers of yours.

Getting highly targeted visitors to come to your highly targeted Internet site, is the heart of the financial success of your online marketing promotions.

Your lead traffic is drawn to the same keywords that title and make up your web site content, right?

You are wasting your hard earned money if you do not match your traffic to your web site with careful keyword ads that match and highly relate to the keywords title and article content on your site. There are some online excellent training programs about this very topic.

Career inter net entrepreneurs are constantly paying out many thousands of dollars to participate in on line and off line seminars on this very topic. I have paid for some of them myself.

Always think, content to deliver to your target market.

Just when you think you know everything, something new comes up like content submission that has to be worked on, recognized, learned and understood. The alternative is to fall behind competition very fast.

You can be constructing the greatest home business Internet sites ever, in one way, but if the advertising and marketing and promotion do not bring users to your sites it is of zero value to you.

Once visitors start coming to your site you can get tracking software that will let you know which pages they view, how long they stay and what brings them there.

Amazingly, you can also learn what page they are on and when they leave the sites. This will all give you valuable clues as to how to get them, comfortably, to your purchase page and entice them all the way through the purchasing, confirmation and satisfaction process.

Follow up with all sales to get valuable information from your purchasers. Those who do not follow up, you guessed it, fall behind real fast.

If you follow up and help purchasers get your products up, running and working, guest what? They will give you priceless testimonials about your product you can use on your site and all over the inter net. This will be fabulous article content for your web site.

Handle and satisfy complaints like your business life depends on it because it does. Satisfied complaints mean more nice powerful testimonials.

All this, working to know why, information helps you improve your site, valuable reputation and article content for your home business Internet marketing and promotion knowledge. Do you see how much better this can make your business niche?

Goals for enticing your online leads and marketing and promotion plans, if you are to succeed quicker, should include the following:

To get instant low cost to sales highly targeted traffic to your site so that these users can let you know if your Web sales copy article content works. You have to be very scrupulous and know, in fine detail, if your order forms are optimum.

You desperately want to know if the navigation is easy and if the opt in e-mail offer is making income for you. If the navigation is less that clear all is lost because leads will not know how to order from you. This is a common problem.

Test to see if the online sales process you have set up works well by converting your home Web lead traffic into the greatest number of sales. If sales are going well you must always keep on top of them.

This is because the inter net sales programs and tactics are brutally competitive. Some, maybe all, of the sharpest advertising know it alls are on the inter net now. To sleep or let up is to get run over by your competition.

You want to bring the greatest number of highly focused consumers to your Web site in the least amount of time. I have bought lead programs that legitimately touted over one million leads that did not work. They were very cheap.

The catch, I later learned, was that 100 highly focused leads that bring you five or six desired sales are worth more than a million leads that bring you no sales. Unfocused leads bring no sales, focused leads bring profitable sales.

This may sound obvious but most online marketers never learn this important point. That is why most of them fail.

Putting your Web traffic marketing and promotion campaign on autopilot, as much as possible, successfully grows your Internet home business.

Always check back on and test your marketing campaigns though, lest the competition sneak up on you, and they always will, to take your profits away.

When always testing your site, prior to launching marketing promotions, an incredible percentage of entrepreneurs do not know how to test and what to test.

My philosophy and experience says to test everything. The basics to look at are ordering processes, the sales copy, e-mail offers and all site navigation.

The ordering process, or map, should be designed assuming that consumers who buy from you have never done so online before. Have you ever forgotten about ordering products online because the navigation and process were impossible to understand? I have many times.

While checking out sales copy, on your site, you want to pay close attention to how customer niche content and keyword grabbing the headlines are.

Do you know what you are ordering and why? Your customer will want to know.

Are benefits clearly spelled out? Is the guarantee easy to understand and clear? Is there a strong call to action?

Opt in offers should be prominent and have a fulfilling look to your leads. The pointed purpose of testing is to make sure you are getting the contact information from your valuable consumer.

Are you following the rules above? If so, they can be lured back to your site often, maybe forever.

The optimum goal to look at when testing your site navigation is to make sure that someone who wants to buy your product or service online can do it in two easy clicks.

I know I am harping at this but please understand, if they know how to order they can. If they cannot order, you are out of business quickly.

If your market is under 35 years of age they want instant gratification. Give it to them and you will get your profit.

When you own a business of any kind you quickly learn that getting new customers is the number thing you have to focus on. Depending on the size of your business it becomes hard to do it all. Having an internet business helps solve this dilemma because you are able to automate so much of it. Bust you still have to work all of the time on getting traffic before you can get new customers.

In this article we are going to talk about how to get new customers for an Internet based business by first concentrating on getting more traffic.

1. First of all do not forget word of mouth advertising. A satisfied customer can be your best form of advertising because they are not selling anything. They are just letting their friends and family how happy they are with you and your product. Adding a simple tell a friend form to your website can get you a lot of new customers from your current ones.

2. Banner ads, search engines, social marketing, and other methods must be a part of your overall marketing efforts. This is an ongoing project that really never will stop. For example if you choose to do some pay per click advertising you can never just let it run by itself, because the price per click is always changing. If you are not aware of where you rank for various keywords and how much you are paying for a click your traffic will suffer.

3. Ask yourself this question, "who am I trying selling to. You must know your market before you can put together an effective advertising campaign. You will never sell anything or get any new customers if you do not research and learn who your target market is.

4. Concentrate on benefits. Many ads miss the boat in that all they do is go on and on about how great their product is. If you do not translate all of the features of a product into the benefits your customer will realize you will not get traffic to your website. Put yourself in the customers shoes and view your ads and websites as though you were them.

5. In today's Internet marketing world it is all about fresh content. Blogging is the best way to keep your site fresh. It is important that your new customers and your old ones are given to things to buy. You do this by offering new information and products and then keeping in touch.

6. Following up is a great way to get new customers and keeping your past customers. The easiest way to do this is via an autoresponder which is an automatic way to send email. Offer everyone a chance to give you their contact information every chance you get. Giving away a free report or money off coupon would be examples of incentives that someone would be willing to trade their name and email addresses for.

When you get right down to it the new customers dilemma is all about focus and follow up. By putting the emphasis on your visitors and catering to them you will convert them into new customers and repeat customers.

One crucial facet of having successful Internet home businesses is selling wholesale and retail products with online capability. You might focus on local customers, perhaps through your local publications sites or pure play classified sites such as Craigs list dot com or local auction vendors.

Most of those advertisers are still going to want to complete the transactions online. Your Internet business must allow them to do that to be successful. This is hard core customary habit they are used to and will not change from it.

There are some inter net vendors that will help you do that. In fact small, new and hungry entrepreneurs, especially those with an Internet home business, may find that the easiest and most affordable way, to offer the opportunity to purchase their products online is by advertising it through local newspapers.

There the electric vendor and merchant account has already partnered with the newspaper and the advertiser merchants and can take advantage of that relationship that is already in existence by placing ads with the papers.

For example, take a look at the Tampa Tribune. This paper site has partnered with the vendor AdPay dot com, to offer electronic components to private parties and companies.

Internet home business entrepreneurs and other merchants can post their ad to the Tribune site, download photos of the products they are selling along with a description and the asking price.

Both users and potential buyers can view all the ads and check off the ones they want added to their list of possible buys. Then they can ask for more information from the sellers. They can make an offer to buy it and complete a Click N Buy transaction.

Clicking on the more information and make an offer link would display the zoom in photo of the item along with several ways to communicate with the seller. This is whether it is an Internet business, big company, or private party.

The information options are to ask the advertiser a question by e-mail, then to do a keyword search for other products or information by this particular advertiser. If the seller is Joan Jewelry, an Internet home business, for example, keyword searching Joan Jewelry would bring up all the other products Joan has for sale.

This could also display an article last week about her store opening, or her jewelry web log site address.

Other neat actions available to the buyer with this e online service include opportunities to find similar listings with one click (from any advertiser on the site, whether Internet home business, large business or private persons); to add the item to the user watch list, send the ad to a friend by e-mail, also to report the ad as inappropriate.

The small Internet home business entrepreneur, depending on the particular papers, would pay per click, or a percentage of the sale of the ad to the paper, or pay preset ad rates.

Whichever way the business pays the newspaper for the opportunity to add e-commerce to her or his enterprise, it is always considerably less costly up front and less time consuming and learning intensive than trying to set up a home business merchant account and online capability on your own site. Is this good or what?

It is really possible to make your home business successful simply through connections with other businesses related to yours.

The answer is a resounding yes! Granted, skeptics are quick to point out that it is unwise to send your customers or even only potential customers someplace else, but consider all the benefits!

How smart you do it is the key.

Take for example, if you are running a home business that specializes in designing and creating outfits for dogs.

Why not make the business connection with your local veterinarian?

If you already own a dog and have a good relationship with your vet, she or he will most likely not mind having some of your business cards and maybe even a photo of your dog in a cute outfit like a coat or sweater.

A good place to get it displayed is on the office bulletin board.

This connection will, in time, net you some customers, since anyone who visits the vet office is usually kept waiting long enough to view some of the ads on this board.

The trick is to be consistent and make sure there are always some ads on the board.

From there, you can branch out and make the connection with your local animal shelter? Maybe you adopted your own doggy from there.

You could offer a free doggie garment of a non expensive variety. This would be, of course, for caring people who adopt a pooch or cat from there.

This will surely get your name out and it will also be undoubtedly good for some repeat business for you.

Another connection could be made with your dog groomer. She or he is in a business to make dogs look and feel good. So are you.

As you see, your home business can become a resounding success simply by making a connection here and there to related retailers of whatever goods you market.

Still, another example is that of the notary public who does a home business. Notaries are always in constant demand. Many business transactions have to be notarized.

Although banks, law offices, and even some medical offices might have their own notaries. But, what if someone gets sick or is a no show? It does happen.

Have you ever had to make the mad dash around to find a notary public?

Here is where always passing out your business card with any excuse helps out. You have the service that someone needs when they need it.

When a transaction did not originate in a local office, but instead originated via the Internet, you are needed.

See why getting the name of your home business out there is the connection you will need to make in order to be called in when there is a need?

This is the same for all businesses, by the way. Understand? Good. Let us keep going.

For example, think of ways that your notary business is different from the way the notary at the local law office does business.

High odds are, the law office notary is also a legal secretary, paralegal, or relief receptionist. Count on it.

Having her or him leave the office is next to impossible. The transaction cost is too low.

While you, on the other hand, are free to travel to a signing, a clients business, or even the courthouse. The trick is to be available.

Make sure that you talk to the lawyer and the human resources manager at the local law firm and make that connection.

Let them have your card for service, with lots of your contact information on it, when they are in a pinch.

Home business connections are worth money to you if you persistently pursue and search for them.

A very efficient method to advertise your professional services, the products you are selling or simply to help you find a better job is writing targeted articles.

These articles that enclose at the end a short presentation of you or your business can be about various solution to actual problems, about everyday life ect. There are many sites to which you can submit these articles to, or if you have a database of your customers' emails, just drop them an email containing the article and a link to your personal site or professional site.

The articles can generally be copied from one article submission site to the other as long as the content belongs to you and you are not stealing someone else's work. The only condition is that they must keep their original form, no altering, along with your presentation. This means actually more visibly and it is exactly what you need.

The more interesting the article is, the more people will read and remember it. Even if you don't have experience with writing, there are some aspects that can make you try it:

- Writing a technical article puts order in your ideas. You will have to coherent and state clear ideas and proper explanations.
- It will make you improve the way you speak.
- It will bring you visibility.
- If it's written well it will surely help someone.
- You can prove your knowledge in your professional areas this way.

Publishing articles means they have to contains mostly useful information and just a little bit of advertising. If they don't follow this rule, you might end up with an un-publishable article, which you can only put on your homepage.

There are other things you could do with articles if you are willing to spend some money. There are different publicity sites, ranked high in search engines that for a fee will publish your article on their site for a limited period of time. The fee is not high usually, and you get much more visibility this way. But if this choice is the one that appeals to you the most, you must make sure the article is really good, so good that it can compete with all the other articles on that site. The user can see them all at the same time and you must think of ways to make him choose to read yours. If you have tried and you are not confident you can do it on your own, you can always hire a professional.

Beginning as a home working entrepreneur will be both exciting and challenging for you and your family.

For you to succeed at a work at home business, Internet online, requires cooperation and some training from the entire family. Even your pets.

You need to make a written agreement with your kids and your spouse regarding your working hours and systems in order not to cause unnecessary friction. The high science key is to have them participate in making the agreement.

They will like and respect it. Trust me.

You can also enlist the help of the entire family where applicable. I promise, you will all feel and do better if you do it this way.

Once you have ensured the cooperation of every member of the family, you can now concentrate on your work much better. Focus.

Work at home online internet businesses could be a good venue for you to start your business venture. This is especially true if you have limited capital to set up the traditional store space and inventory system.

When using the Internet to sell goods and services, you do not really need to maintain physical store space and inventory. All you need is a small workspace somewhere in the house.

This is preferably a place where you can work in peace and fully concentrate on what you are doing. You must have a reliable computer and fast Internet access like DSL or Broadband, at the minimum, in order to start your online business.

Having and developing a professional looking website is very important to succeed in your online business. Online traders are judged by the design and layout of their websites.

If you have limited skills and experience in website designing, it would be a good idea to seek some professional assistance.

True, it will cost you some money if you ask for professional opinions but you can easily recover your cost and earn some profit sooner than if you just built it yourself with very limited knowledge.

Remember, your website is your office and store. The easier to navigate the website, the better chances of selling your goods and services. Navigation to order must be drop dead clear.

Have noncomputer literate people go to your website and see if they can order easy as pie.

If they cannot figure it out, there will be no cake and ice cream for you to eat after each work day is over because your customers could not order their pie.

Easy order navigation must be excellent . I cannot emphasize this strong point enough. Please work on and understand it.

Aside from selling your goods and services on your website, you can also sell some of your website spaces to sponsors and advertisers. Work at home business which uses the Internet can benefit much from sponsors and advertisers.

In fact, there are many websites that thrive on advertisements alone. The advertisers must be highly related to your site. This will be good links and better ratings from the SEOs for you. If the ads are unrelated your web site will suffer severely. Understand? Good!

Another avenue that might benefit you a lot is in succeeding at work at home business Internet online, is to participate in affiliate programs. There are many affiliate programs being offered by online merchants, which you can easily join for free.

Click Bank rates them for you so you can easily see which ones are best and most profitable to work. This is a high powered effective free tool for you. Use it well to prosper.

The idea of affiliate programs is that you act as broker for the merchant site by providing a link from your website to their site. Be sure each link works before letting them be active. Obvious but important.

You will earn a commission on the sales generated from the link you provided.

Again, there are many websites that earn good money from affiliate programs. So, if you want to augment your website income, join highly effective affiliate programs highly related to your website content.

Utilizing all available marketing tools in the Internet will greatly increase your chances of succeeding in your business endeavor. Work hard and smart all the time to prosper.

When you hear the words Search Engine Optimization, or SEO, you automatically think of improved traffic from the search engines, particularly Google. The process includes, site content, search words, relevency, etc. Webmaster and companies are currently paying thousands of dollars to ensure their site has the highest ranking possible for their selected search words. There are also companies out there who offer their services to help these webmasters and companies in their efforts.

Sadly enough, there are also scammers out there who are only interested in seperating the unsuspecting from their money. They prey on those who do not know enough about the search engines to know what to do or where to go for info. Currently, there are not as many of them out there as there are for other traffic scams, but it is still worth mentioning to help you stay alert for them.

One of the first flags to watch for is did they contact you first? Whether by e-mail or a telemarketer, it is best to very cautious when dealing with anyone, or any firm, soliciting their services. Another red flag to watch for is "guaranteed rankings". If they tell you they can guarantee the ranking of your site or guarantee "the top ten in search results," beware. The guarantee alone should be sufficient to warn you as noone can make that kind of guarantee. This is especially true if they tell that they can do it without making any changes to your site.

One thing you should do is check them out to verify their legitimacy and services. You can do this through forums such as The Warrior Forum and WHOIS. If they operate under multiple aliases, or have fake info in their WHOIS, it is best to walk away. You can look in other forums and articles related to the subject. If in the forums, ask questions and wait for the answers. A timely warning here can save you thousands down the road.

Qne tactic used by SEO scammers is the use of front pages and a demand that they control the urls. Front pages are used to redirect traffic to your site using different sarch words and phrases. Controlling the doorway urls simply means that they use their own domain in the doorway page url. The promise is that these pages will get you a wider search result as they use more keywords relevent to your site.

This is a lie as individual pages are rarely relevent in keyword searches. Furthermore, these pages will often contain hidden links to other clients or the SEO firm itself. This tactic will diffuse the traffic that would otherwise come to your site and drain away your link popularity.

It is always important to understand exactly what the SEO firm is planning to do. Get specific information on how they plan to set up their service and where your money is going. If they won't tell you, or use a sales pitch that sounds to good to be true, walk away. Beware the hard sell or high pressure sales tactics.

Ultimately, it is your responsibility what the firm does, or does not do. When choosing any advertising or SEO optimization firm, always protect yourself and check them out. Be thorough in your research. A wise choice will help you along in your search engine traffic while an unwise one can cost you dearly.

Would you trust a financial advisor that was not able to track your investments and tell you which ones were doing well and which ones should be reconsidered? I bet you wouldn't. But I would also bet that there are a lot of real estate agents out there that are doing the same thing with their own money. Every piece of advertising and marketing that is sent out, posted and published is an investment. It's an investment in your business, an investment towards future profits. So why would you run ad campaigns and not be able to track which ones are doing well for you and which ones should be reconsidered?

Real estate advertising takes a multi - medium approach. Most agents will advertise in newspapers, Homes magazines, with postcards, property signs, etc. One way to see which advertising is generating the most response is to track the number of calls coming in from those ads. You could keep a tally by asking every person that calls you what ad they are calling from. However, this approach has draw backs. First of all, it disrupts the natural flow of any conversation and rapport that you are trying to establish with the caller. Secondly, most people won't remember where they saw the ad or picked up your number so the information may not be reliable.

A much easier and dependable way to track your advertising dollars is to have the tracking be automated. This can be accomplished with a phone number with multiple extensions that can be applied to each ad. Here is an example. Say you are advertising a property on 123 Elm Street. To get maximum exposure for the listing you are going all out and posting an ad in the newspaper, having postcards printed, you are highlighting the property on your website, having full color brochures available at the location and providing a toll free number on your sign rider for people to get information.

With an ad tracking toll free number, each of these ads can have a different extension yet the same information about the property on 123 Elm Street will be in each one. This makes figuring out which ads are good investments a no-brainer. Ad tracking toll free number systems will generate reports for you daily, weekly, monthly, etc. This allows you to concentrate on the leads coming in while the system gathers the data and puts it together for you to evaluate your advertising investments.

To get the widest possible exposure for advertising and property listings, it is often necessary for real estate agents to throw a wide net. This is a good strategy if you can then streamline and focus your advertising on what works the best. You wouldn't trust your money with a financial advisor who couldn't track your investments. Why would you do the same thing with your advertising dollars?

Why do you make the decision to buy what you do?

Is it the promise of a desired result? Maybe someone's recommendation? Or, perhaps you just "feel right" about it. Like buying this product or service is an extension or an expression of who you are?

Good reasons, all. But certainly not conclusive.

If any one human being had the definitive answer to this question and somehow was able to apply it in a profit-making venture, no doubt he or she would be quite wealthy. But you and I both know there's no one answer. Instead, we have theories. Maybe we can lump all those theories together and we can begin to formulate a complete answer. That could work, but then we create another problem: leveraging this All-Powerful Marketing Answer into an actionable plan our creative minds can work though and execute.

Why? Because much of The All-Powerful Marketing Answer is based on perception--an exceedingly difficult thing to manage.

Often, perceptions aren't even based in reality. They're the derivative of opinions based on other opinions, which are based on other opinions. Facts get lost, and whether positive or negative, the truth becomes irrelevant.

Unless, of course, we're able to identify the core truths of the brand we're offering a market and be disciplined enough to build our entire branding, marketing and advertising strategy on that foundation of truth. NO MATTER HOW RISKY OR RENEGADE THAT STRATEGY MAY BE.

"Good theory, Barone," you say. "Where's the evidence it holds any water?" you ask.

Hopefully, in your financial portfolios.

A recent four-year study of 33 publicly-traded companies showed that perception (according to the EquiTrend method) had positive effects on the return on investment into those companies' stocks. In other words, the better the perception was about a company, the more money it typically made. And when you wipe away all the fluff and bubbles, isn't making money the ultimate black and white, clear as day, irrefutable measure of a successful branding, marketing and advertising strategy?

As a copywriter, my point in presenting you this idea of creating a perception based on truth is that it is, in large part, a task accomplished by what you say to your market and how you say it.

And if I may offer a little insight into the matter: many businesses don't get that or practice it. They may know that having a well-designed professional image is important, but often times, the messaging takes a strategic backseat and is often relegated to the person who has a little extra time to whip something up. In larger companies, it may not be as simple as having "Bob in the back cube" come up with something. However, there could be a disconnect between the best, most strategic way to verbally engage your customers and what you're doing in your marketing collateral, on your website, in your advertising or in your retail environments.

In other words, creating a positive perception isn't the work of "afterthinking." It requires deep thinking, hard research and deliberate execution by your entire marketing, branding and advertising team.

Something to think about, anyway.

Any small or big business, must keep advertising from becoming too costly so you can closely monitor all your target markets to get maximum impression made for your business or organization. Not so obvious a point.

Many small business owners find it difficult to engage in home business marketing, because it appears to be so expensive. However, there are many ideas that you can use to increase your visibility. Many are good. Interestingly, some are not so good but you can make them so if they let you find your desired leads and customers by testing.

Here are some ideas that can be very useful in home business marketing:

Begin a frequent buyer club.
Reward your loyal customers for patronizing your stores. That way, they will give their business to you, and even like you and no one else. It might be helpful for you to track the purchase information of your customers, and once they have reached a certain threshold, by buying your products or helping you sell them, give them a gift certificate or a rebate.

Also, you can consider giving them future discounts, or simply a free gift. These ideas can be varied almost endlessly, so get creative and experiment with what works best for you. Test, a great word in internet marketing.

Use your phone time wisely.
There are many ways to use your phone time for advertising purposes. The best is to call and thank them in person or leave a message of thank you on their message machine after they make a purchase. Hardly anyone does this and it is very powerful.

Again, you simply have to be a little creative. For example, when you put your customers on hold, instead of playing some music, remind them of some of the upcoming events concerning your company. For, example, invite them to a sale. Also, ask if there is any problem, at all, with your relationship with them and your company that they would like you to solve. Solve a customer problem and you will keep a customer forever.

Give away business cards.
This is pretty important, so you really should have me earn my keep and tell you this. A reminder always helps. Especially so when someone is scrambling for help when they need a service like yours to help them fill their needs at a critical time.

Business cards are one of the most inexpensive ways you can advertise, so to neglect their use would be wasting a great opportunity. As much as possible, the card should have an attractive design, and it must include all information relevant to your business.

Give your business cards to just about everyone that you meet. You never know when your little gift will earn you money. Have a tiny discount for ordering any purchase from you on your card. This will give your card guts.

Cards, with pretty pictures, designs and services can be bought extremely cheap with excellent quality on the internet. Put in keyword, business cards, and shop for the best prices.

When anyone ever asks you anything, take out one of your cards and write their needed info on it, and give it to them and you will have a hard working 24 hour, 7 day ad out there for you forever.

Utilize email signatures.
Whenever you mail a potential customer, furnish him or her with your complete business information. This helps you to form associations in your prospects mind. You want them to remember the business when they think of your name, and vice versa. Tinker with this medium frequently to update and improve it.

Website promotion.
Aside from the usual methods of getting listed in online directories and optimizing for the search engines, you should seriously consider other, less prestigious methods. For example, try to include your URL on just about every surface available, on your business cards, the uniforms of employees and you, and on all promotion items such as key chains, coffee mugs, and tee shirts.

Make your url extremely brief and pertinent to your website business. You want people to be reminded of your site everywhere they turn and to be able to remember it easily.

Many website promotion tools out there are very good. The trick is to shop and shop and always be shopping for better ones. The last few years have brought on fierce competition for better and better web site advertisers and promoters.

Never be satisfied. Always be looking for cheaper and better with higher quality services ad places and promoters. They are there and are getting better.

Home business marketing is not as difficult as it may first seem. As long as you have a good supply of creativity, you should be able to generate enough ideas to promote your business. The ideas enumerated here should get you started, but make sure you think up your own variations!

Remember to always keep testing for better ad and promotion places and never be satisfied with a few because they are always getting better. Competition is great which is good for you and your time and money budget.

You seen them everywhere. Guaranteed hits or visitors for a cheap price. You think to yourself that this would be a great way to get some customers and make a few sales. You believe the sales pitch that is presented to you. So you decide to spend some money on this low cost advertising to boost your business. This seems to good to be true.

This has been one of the major scams to hit anyone trying to start a business online. They prey on any unsuspecting net marketer who is desperate enough to buy into their hype. These professional looking sites will tell you that they use a network of trusted sites to generate traffic, sometimes referring to them as partnering networks. They promise full page views from interested viewers. But, the reality is very different.

When considering this type of promotion, stop. These sites are usually designed for the high pressure sale. A rule of thumb used by Japanese businessmen, "If it requires an immediate answer, then the answer is no." A good tip here is to bookmark the site and come back after a day or so. When you do so, take the time to read it thoroughly. Resist the high pressure sales tactic and think critically about what you are reading.

Ask youself the question,"Is this too good to be true?" If it sounds like it, then it usually is. A good way to check out these sites is to sign up for the Warrior's Forum and check it out. The Forum is free to join. There are also a number os other forums that can help you make your decision. Use the search words "website traffic scam."

THe reality is a little more disturbing: If you decide to purchase any advertising it is always a good idea to check it out. Use a smaller order and take a few precautions. You can pick up a free ads tracker to verify traffic and statistics. If it is a scam site, you will more than likely see the following:

Most of these "visitors" will come from one ip address (it may be listed as "Unknown IP"), say 80+% or so. The remaining few visitors are from people and sites who pay people to look at other sites. These hits are the minority and are usually ineffective. These few visitors are usually paid a cent or two to view your site for 15 seconds or so. True, you may land a sale or two from the pay per view traffic, but not really enough to make any difference.

The majority of the wholesale traffic websites you see are nothing more than scams designed to take your money. Granted there are real and honest traffic sellers out there. To get recommendations check out the forums.

There are also other legitimate and effective means of traffic generation out there that will get you far better results and that is worth the cost. The major difference is that your site will get the much needed REAL visitors and sales that you need to profit online.

Tracking online advertisements is extremely important in the high-cost world of Internet advertising. This is because you simply must have a way to judge if your advertising is effective or not.

You cannot improve your business by simply placing and designing ads. You need to be sure that your ads are converting into sales. This is why you must track everything!

One quote by a corporate mogul that comes to mind goes as follows: "I know that half of my advertising is wasted. The trouble is I don't know which half." This is where ad tracking software comes in.

If you know where your hits are coming from, you can better focus your ad campaign. Consequently, you can concentrate on buying ads that work and abandoning the ones that don't.

Here are 3 important reasons why tracking your online ads is so crucial.

Reason One: To maximize your profit
If you've found an online advertising niche that converts well into sales then you can easily increase your spending in that specific area. If you weren't tracking your conversions then you couldn't do this. You may be forced to increase your advertising across the board, in which case you may be increasing spending in areas that have a low or even negative return on investment.

Reason Two: To save money
You can easily see which streams of advertising are offering a poor return on investment. You have the opportunity to improve in this area or reduce or stop your spending altogether. You'll boost your bottom line as you will no longer be wasting money on useless advertising.

Reason Three: Quickly Expand Your Advertising Campaign
Once you can quickly and easily tell which ads are performing well and which aren't, you can easily expand to new areas of advertising and increase your spending. Not only do you have a positive return on investment already (which makes it easier to increase advertisement spending), but you also have the confidence of knowing that you can quickly and effectively weed out the bad performers from the good ones in any new area you expand to.

You will also want to track where your traffic is coming from. You may get traffic from an e-zine ad, a PPC ad or from a banner ad. One of these sources may bring you a significant amount of traffic while another brings you little or no traffic at all. By tracking every ad and promotion you place, you will find out where to direct your advertising efforts, thereby saving you both time and money.

Only about 1% of your competitors track their traffic sources. By tracking your ads, you will gain an advantage over 99% of your competitors. In my opinion this is the easiest and most effective way to gain a step up on your competition and maximizing your returns.

In 10 short years, websites have evolved from business novelty to necessity, perhaps now the most important part of a business' marketing and branding arsenal. For very small shops to the largest publicly-traded corporations, websites have become both the most preferred and the most interactive way for companies to communicate with their customers and prospective customers. And though many of the same fundamentals of good offline copywriting apply to the online world, there are distinct differences in both content presentation and strategy that are important for anyone involved in website copywriting-whether it be a writer, designer, creative director or client-to be aware of.

1. Website copywriting needs to be shorter
It's been scientifically proven that readers' eyes tire quicker reading a computer screen than they do a printed page. But more important than that, website copywriting needs to be short because of the nature of the medium. Computers are all about speed in information gathering, dissemination and understanding. And the amount of verbal content a company presents on its website must take that fact into account. If the concept can be explained in one sentence instead of three, use one. If a simpler word can be used in lieu of a longer, more complex word, go with the simpler. Concentrate on quality without the quantity. It can be done and done very well.

2. Good website copywriting starts with a home page that incites curiosity
On a home page, many organizations wax about how long their company has been in business, how many employees they have and other assorted topics, which do nothing to whet the reader's appetite. Instead, use the homepage to introduce your company as a solution to a problem your market has. That way, you're presenting your readers with a valuable reason to continue reading.

3. Customer testimonials are an integral part of great website copy
Often, the best website copywriting doesn't come from you or your copywriter. It comes from your customers' personal experiences. Assuming your company has satisfied customers, what they say about you can be much more credible than anything you say about yourself, and they can reinforce the credibility of the claims you do make about yourself.

4. Add a personal touch to complement the facts
A website is nothing more than a computerized, interactive introduction (e-commerce not withstanding) to who you are as a company and what you do. And just like a personal introduction, what often follows the "facts" are topics of a more personal nature. Good website copywriting always includes this type of content in a secondary location of the site-a place not hard to find, but not up front and center either. Why is this important? Because people want to get to know the companies they're going to work with or do business with. They're interested in the personalities that run your organization and the culture and philosophy behind it.

Advertising costs can quickly pile up, especially if you are a small home business.

Getting expensive exposure on TV or radio seems out of the question when we are starting out in our small enterprises. Where can you possibly find cheap advertising for home businesses? The cause seems so hopeless that many of us give up before we even begin.

This article states that many home business owners are overlooking many inexpensive opportunities to promote their businesses and increase their sales.

Many of these suggestions have been proven to work, and require but a little ingenuity and imagination. Using these ideas, you should be able to improve your visibility, without spending more than you have to.

Start off by giving something for free. People love free stuff. Especially something with clear value. No matter what business you are in, if you offer something useful for free, chances are that you will get to meet more potential customers.

A lot of businesses have found it worthwhile to issue coupons. If you are a service provider, try issuing a coupon for an hours worth of your service. You will be surprised how many turn up to take you up on your offer. If you are engaged in selling products, issue coupons that your customers can use to avail of a discount.

Print some stickers. Stickers are a very cost-efficient way of getting the word out. Ask some of your family, friends, and current customers to display your stickers prominently in their cars or personal belongings.

When combined with a catchy slogan or perhaps an excellent business offer, your stickers will bring you business far above what it cost you to print them, which will be just a few dollars. This is an excellent example of cheap advertising for home businesses.

Personalize your receipts. Most businesses use rather lackluster or generic designs on their receipts. You can take advantage of this situation. By getting your creative juices flowing and adding a little advertising into your receipts, your company will stand out in your customer minds.

Use your receipts to remind customers of what you stand for. Inform them of any upcoming events or special offers. This way, whenever your customers rifle through their records, they will consider sending some business your way.

Send some cards. This is a little courtesy secret that top salesmen have used for years. First, you get some of your customer personal information, such as their birthdates, anniversary dates, address, etc. Then you simply send them some cards during their important days, such as when they are celebrating their anniversaries, or when they have a new child.

Frequently you will be the only one who remembers. This is heavy emotional stuff for customers. Trust me. By sending cards to your customers, you make them like you better, making it more likely that they will do business with you.

Develop the reflex of passing out business cards that clearly say what your service is. One topic is all you need. Use a pretty picture, very light colored, on your business card. Use the exact same picture everytime you have your business cards printed up so the picture reminds everyone of your business. Have lots of clear contact information on the card.

Let the info be absolutely clear and simple as possible to contact you. A short email address that mentions your business in it. Phone number. Street address. Web site with a short name and aggressively related to your business so it is easy to remember. Everytime someone asks you for info of any kind, write it on the back of your business card. People will now save the card with your business contact information on it.

As you can see, there are many inexpensive ideas that can help you boost your business. Cheap advertising for home businesses is available, you just need to know where to look.

To have a steady income from your business you need to know how to generate highly targeted leads. Leads are the heart blood of residual income for your inter net business.

This article represents many thousands of dollars from my business experience. Read it carefully and learn from my experience and mistakes.

Good sales are joined to the hip of your business income in increasing your business profits. Anyone who does not focus on targeted lead generation will soon find their residual income dries up real fast.

Most online entrepreneurs end up quitting because they do not understand exactly how to generate leads. Success or failure is frequently a fine line, as little as one word or even one letter that draws interested leads to respond and buy.

A targeted lead is the name and information for someone who is interested in your product as a possible customer or team member. With target marketing there are many different types of leads.

The cream of the crop leads are qualified and know why they are seeking you out. Qualified leads are the names of people who have raised their hand with an interest in your business or product.

They have either requested information when seeing your content article on an article directory web site, independently run ad agencies helping you advertise or other on line or off line means of advertising. They are interested in buying your product, enlisting in your cause,or joining you in business.

These leads are your diamonds in the rough because they have the most targeted qualification. These people are the highest probability leads to buy or sign up with you.

Some leads will drive you nuts with intensive indecisiveness and just want someone to rant to. Let these time wasters go real quick. You will learn to recognize them fast, I promise you.

It is okay if someone has a lot of questions. These leads are sincere and very interested and are not interested in wasting your time or theirs and are being careful how they spend their money.

Another important aspect about leads is they must be current. Old leads soon forget they responded to an ad and will get very angry with you. Old leads will be cheap. This is like taking a medicine that is cheap and may or may not be the right thing for you. Let it go.

Few things are worse than buying leads and finding out they are not current. Old leads have incorrect contact information that results in wasted time and money.

Leads are generated in different ways. Offline leads can come from telemarketing, talking to people and advertising. If you like pain and angry people giving you a peace of their mind all day, this is a way to get leads. Well, maybe not.

Online leads come from advertising, email capturing and writing free content articles for article directories and other web sites. There are other ways to get leads though these are some of the more popular at this time.

You can buy leads. Buying leads is very risky. Almost all of my experience with this has resulted in no hungry leads. They are a bad risk. Many sources are rip offs.

These other methods provide the best opportunity to get quality leads. They simply bring you leads that are qualified. People are responding to the honestly presented business, they know what it is and they are ready to either buy or sign up. They are almost friends.

The cheapest way to get good leads is to pass out business cards with your business clearly stated on them. This is slow and definitely works. Cheap quality source for business cards are available to you online.

Probably the highest targeted leads come from those brought to you by content article lead generation to earn residual income. You blow your horn in your niche article about the advantages of your product in an intensely truthful way, giving all the good and bad.

You can write articles yourself or have professionals write them for you. They are cheap and can be changed, if you wish, before submitting them. This method takes longer to get leads but they will chase you if you follow the rules.

Content articles stay on the internet virtually forever. So, you will have a permanent, quality free ad once the article is submitted to publishers.

These leads are the highly targeted keys to making a good income. Targeted leads are the fuel to earning a top residual income. Am I harping on this enough so you are starting to believe me?

Press releases are very good for generating leads but cost more. If you are serious about your business have a pro do it for you. Have them submit them also for best results.

Good leads, who know exactly what you are up to, generate sales and sign ups to make a residual income. They will generate valuable word of mouth advertising for you. No advertising is better than satisfied customers, none. Got it?

I do guarantee you that good or bad leads will make or break your business. Entrepreneur business, or cause, owners need to understand what a lead good is and where to get, not find, them. Let them find you for best results.

Successful business owners take the time to generate targeted leads, who chase them, to be sure they are good. The next step is to take the leads, give them honest information, and turn them into steady residual income.

Getting an idea or product out there is absolutely reliant upon advertising. By keeping a few things in mind, the home business owner can take crucial steps to prevent failure, sustain growth, and ultimately reach full earning potential through various advertising techniques.

Advertising must been viewed as an investment. The home business owner must allocate ample funding towards advertising. Web sites, brochures, and other materials are a direct reflection of any business. Professionalism is a must. Poorly constructed materials that are hard to follow, lack informative qualities, or generally appear cheap make a business look bad to potential customers, leading to business failure. When investing in advertising, a home business owner should consider the cost of printing and circulating materials, maintaining a website or placing advertisements. This consideration should focus on the overall audience to be gained. The larger the audience, the more potential any business has in breaking ground with potential customers.

Keep it simple. Web sites promoting a home business or home-based business that rely upon the internet must be easy to navigate through and provide a simple presentation of the product or service offered. Customers should know exactly what they are purchasing, how to purchase it, when to expect the product, and how to contact the business for inquires during the entire purchase process.

Standing out from the crowd is a chief component of successful advertising. Competition can be found everywhere in business, and is fundamentally a threat. To prevent failure, a home business owner must understand the competition well, and this is certainly true when it comes to advertising. A home business owner should develop advertising that has style, form, and content that enforces a sense of uniqueness upon the potential customer. When attempting to be different, a home business owner must be careful though. Professionalism should be maintained and the nature advertising shouldnt offend or alienate the respective customer base. Knowing that the competition is a substantial threat to the success of a home business is not sufficient grounds for an advertising campaign to wage war against the competitors. Instead, a business should provide a unique solution, or promote a benefit that has been overlooked by the other guys.

Adaptability and a willingness to do things differently are important in advertising for an at-home-business. If there is a particular approach or method of advertising that just isnt getting the amount of customer traffic and interest desired, it simply makes sense to rethink think things and do something different. This could be as simple as making a switch in the type of newspaper an advertisement may appear in or re-vamping the look of a web site.

Advertising can be a challenge for many different types of home businesses. Essentially, advertising is a mechanism by which any business communicates to its customer base. Contextual advertising is an online marketing method that generates and displays advertisements based on the content of a web page or the keywords typed into a search engine text box. It has garnered a great deal of marketing attention lately since it is one of the most targeted forms of advertising possible. By limiting advertisements that are displayed only to those related to the web site topic or search engine query, this ensures that the advertisements that are displayed are likely to be of interest to the web surfer who is exposed to them.

Contextual advertising is a good option for both merchants and web masters. Merchants like it because they get a greater return on their marketing investment since the ad is only seen by people who are likely to be interested in their product and therefore more likely to actually make a purchase. Web masters enjoy this type of advertising because it allows them to earn income on each and every web site that they maintain. Many websites that contain contextual advertising are hobbyist web sites that were not created for commercial reasons. Hosting contextual ads allows the web master to recoup his or her expenses and perhaps even make a profit from the web site. It also allows web masters to migrate from subscription based sites to free web sites.

This type of advertising really reached the big time when internet heavyweight Google created its Google AdSense contextual marketing service. Google AdSense utilizes Google's highly advanced search engine technology to serve up advertisements that take into account not only the content of the web page but information such as the user's location. For example, a web browser from Germany might see advertisements in German touting German products, whereas an American user will see ads in English that are directed at an American public. In fact, Google's advertising program can even regionalize down to the city that the user is in. Never before has internet marketing been able to achieve this level of directness and consumer focus. It has achieved one of the erstwhile holy grails of online marketing--the ability to bring local offerings to the user and finally mesh local communities with the greater online universe.

Contextual advertising is one of the fastest growing online marketing methods. As consumers continue to do more and more of their shopping online we can expect more merchants to compete for their attention. This means that this advertising is likely to continue to gain strength as a major method of advertising. The targeted and direct nature make it a very popular choice with merchants who are looking to squeeze the most value out of their marketing dollars.

Home business marketing is a necessary part of investing in any business. The trick here is determining what type of marketing is the key to your business success. If you have a business on the web, then it is crucial for your website and your business to stand out against the hundreds of other companies out there. Let's correct that. There are millions of other companies out there. So, how will you stand up and show that your product is the best possible product for the individual to purchase? The only way to do this is through successful home business marketing.

There are plenty of ways to do this as well. Here are just a few things that you can take into consideration.

Website Design Success. The most fundamentally important aspect of selling a product or service or even a business online is providing the customer with a detailed, well versed website that will provide all the necessary information and details that they need. Filling it with great content and the necessary frame work will also help your business to rank well on the web's search engines. When you do this successfully, when your potential customer heads to a search engine, they will find your website to purchase from.

Programs Like Adsense. When you use various types of online marketing tools such as Adsense, you also get to market your business to someone else's customers. Here, you are able to produce a wide range of benefits as you can be marketing to individuals that have set out to look for your products. This in itself is a powerful tool.

Other options. If you are looking for other unique ways to market your business, consider things like newsletters, message boards, forums, e-books, article directories…the list goes on and on. Each one of these methods allows you to get your product, your name, your service or your business out there so that others can benefit from it.

Home business marketing on the web should include many of these types of advertising vehicles. What you do and how well you do it depends on your budget, your goals and your specific business needs. Is there some magic formula that will work for everyone? This is unlikely but it is well known that taking short cuts is not the way to go. You will find the success that you need by investing time and energy in learning the best marketing strategies for your business and then executing them effectively.

When you want to take control and are thinking of starting your own affiliate program, there are certain things you will need to offer. You need to make it easy for affiliates to get on board and get started right away. To do this, you will need to offer them certain things to work with. You should immediately tell them everything they need to know in the first email you send to them. You don't have to go into great detail about it but you can touch on certain things and give more detail on your site. Take a look at some of the tools you can offer affiliates to keep them interested and functioning.

Advertisements

If you want your own affiliate program to work you need ads that are effective. You should make sure they are effective before you start handing them out to affiliates. You don't have to offer a ton of ads to affiliates at first. Start with a few and change them as you need to. You can choose to allow affiliates to write ads as well for a better result but insist on reviewing them before they are submitted. Remember, if your ads are no good, there is no point in having an affiliate program in the first place.

Graphics

You really need to make your available graphics easier than ever for your affiliates to use. If you try to get complicated, they will not be effective. Set up your website so all the affiliate has to do is cut and past the html code into their own webpage editor. When you do this, they will be more likely to use your graphics effectively and often. In addition, you need to be sure to display a small set of instructions for those who do not know what they are doing.

Content

One thing you should not forget when you want to start your own affiliate program is content. You should offer your affiliates content they can use. They can paste the article onto their site and get more traffic. In addition, you can encourage them to write their own content as well and you can update them regularly. The more updates they make to their content, the more people they will draw in and the more money everyone will make overall.

As you can see, as long as you offer simple and helpful tools to affiliates, you can think about starting your own affiliate program with less problems. Try having everything set up before you start signing up affiliates . When you have everything already planned out, you won't get as frazzled with the process. In fact, it should be a very fun and easy process overall. Starting your own affiliate program is beneficial to you and to your affiliates. When the program is effective for everyone, you will be a huge success.

Business large and small should consider hiring a professional branding company. A branding company brings a lot to the table. First and foremost they bring a third party objective point of view that a business is unable to obtain. The old saying holds true, you can not see the forest through the trees. But how do you choose the right branding company? Ask yourself these questions.

How do they promote themselves? Are they calling themselves an advertising agency that also does branding? If so, they are not a true branding agency. An advertising agency has a hidden agenda, to sell advertising. A branding company does not favor one tactic over another so they should not and would not promote advertising unless it is the right direction to go in. Be careful of these ad agencies that say they do branding. It is much easier to use a buzz word like branding then to actual know how to brand properly.

Are they a web design company that says they do branding? These are the absolute worst offenders of not being a branding company. Ask them simple branding questions like what is positioning or explain the difference between brand identity and brand image. Most will not even know the answer. Then you can ask them a trick question like define brand equity (currently there is no definitive answer). Web design companies are well, web designers. They are not strategic branding experts by any stretch of the imagination.

Are they a marketing company that says the do branding? Be very careful of marketing companies as they are the sneakiest offenders of all. They will talk strategy and integration but they know little about internal branding. They typically promote external branding tactics like direct marketing, logo design, advertising etc. Marketing companies do marketing not branding.

Are they a direct marketing company that says they do branding? Boy oh boy, these companies are so far from true branding they wouldn't know it if it hit them in the noggin. Direct marketing can be a great tactic but branding it is not. True branding companies only promote direct marketing when the return on investments warrants it. The average return on investment with a direct mail piece is a half to a full percent. Personally I think that is a small return for the investment required which is why direct marketing is typically used as image building with branding companies.

Are they a search engine optimization or internet company that says they do branding? Internet marketing is one of the most effective returns on investment in the business today. Search engine optimization is probably the best single tactic for building brand awareness and sales and is the reason we hired a staff of SEO gurus. But when it comes to branding they will fall very short in planning, strategy, creative and many other areas.

Are they are branding company that really does branding? Unfortunately we have seen a lot of companies call themselves branding agencies but in all reality they are not. So how do you know how to choose the right branding company?

Ask them the following:

What types of services or programs do they have established for internal branding? Internal branding is often overlooked by every other type of company out there. It is a great indicator that you are not really dealing with a true branding company. Sure external branding is exciting and fun but if employees do not buy into it or unaware of it you are going to find yourself in big trouble as well as having wasted tens of thousands of dollars on your external campaign. Look inside yourself and make sure you have set up the right policies and procedures that best leverage your brand identity and positioning. For instance, Volvo the automobile is clearly the safety car company. Their employees should eat breath and sleep safety, safety features, safety technology etc. They should know their brand promise and how it relates to their customers. This is why even though Volvo is probably not the safest car on the road they are perceived to be. Ask ten people what's the first thing they think of when it comes to Volvo and the answer will be safety.

Once you have confirmed that the branding company does instill internal branding practices then you can move forward with them on strategic direction and planning. Look for companies that only recommend tactics that will obtain the best return on investment and not canned specific tactics like advertising or direct marketing. You want open objective strategies and tactics to move your brand forward which is why choosing the right branding company is so critical.

It's an exciting adventure that you're about to begin by being self-employed. It's time to let everyone know about your soon-to-be successful company by promoting your home business.

While hiring a marketing or public relations firm is an easy option, since you are just starting out, it may be a tool you cannot yet afford. If this is the case, it is up to you to develop different media means to promote your home business.

The most obvious is starting a Web site. There are many freelancers out there who would gladly do this for you for a fee, but this is not really necessary if you have basic computer skills. Several sites are dedicated to instructing you on a step-by-step procedure on how to create a Web site for promoting your home business. Many provide usage for a price, but there are some out there which you can use for no cost at all. This would be a practical option. A free site might not offer all the flourishes of a paid-for one, but as your first priority would be simply promoting your home business, other features, graphics and designs can be added once the money starts rolling in and you have extra cash to spend on creating a stand out site.

Writing a weekly or monthly newsletter is also a great marketing tool in promoting your home business. Fill the copy with your personal background, services provided and costs involved. Update your newsletter with savings advertisements, new services offered and comments from pleased customers when promoting your home business through a newsletter.

While posting a link or subscriber option to your web site for the newsletter is a given, additional initiative must be taken as part of promoting your home business. Obtain e-mail addresses of several companies or individuals who might be interested in using your services. Search for the addresses of actual people rather than sending a letter promoting your home business to a general business site. You are then taking the risk of becoming a deleted spam file.

If your home business is a local one, such as a day care or accounting service, advertise in your local newspapers and trade magazines. Coupons always catch a consumers eye, so including them in your ad would be a key tool in promoting your home business. Offering a 10 percent discount is always a plus.

Also, holding contests with prizes would catch they eye of a newspaper or magazine browser. Consider making the prize a week of free service or a sales item.

Lastly, get some business cards together as part of promoting your home business. You can design and print them using a home computer or pay a professional printer who may have additional design ideas that would capture consumer's attention. Distribute your business cards to individuals and companies, and post them in every store that offers a free advertising billboard.

As the end of the first quarter draws near, it's time to review your e-mail efforts to determine if you're still on the road to success. Though sales and response rates are key indicators to how well your program is performing, there are 12 critical areas where you can rate your program's effectiveness to forecast how well you can expect the rest of the year to go.

The questions were initially proposed by Andy Goldman, an associate director of my company's e-mail practice. "These questions represent categories that are core areas for analysis with our clients' e-mail marketing programs," said Goldman. "They reflect the entire customer journey with e-mail, and they lead to a consideration of areas for growth and optimization."

Will your e-mail efforts succeed in 2006? Find out by answering these questions for your organization's programs, then answer them for your top two competitors. Comparing results will offer some clear direction of how the rest of 2006 should be managed.

The E-Mail Marketing Success Forecast

* Opt-in environment:

o How simple is it to access your opt-in environment? Is your subscription link buried on your Web site?

o How well does the opt-in process explain all the communication types available and establish relevance?

o Does your opt-in process decrease attrition by providing examples of the content people will receive if they sign up?

o Is there a place where potential subscribers can see samples or access live versions of prior e-mail content (old newsletter versions, etc.)?

o Is the registration process labor intensive? (If e-mail isn't one of the first four requested fields, you run the risk of losing up to 50 percent of interested parties.)

* Creative and content:

o Does your subject line advise the e-mail's purpose and the offer?

o Is the copy format readable under all e-mail circumstance? Does it render well on a mobile device or BlackBerry? Are the text versions actually designed?

o Is the message visually optimized? For example, are images strategically placed to move the eye toward the call to action?

o Does the e-mail's layout support the brand? Does it carry a consistent brand message through the entire user flow?

* List and usage:

o Do you have an established cadence that's clearly communicated to the readers (e.g., a monthly newsletter or seasonal update)?

o Do you have a third-party list rental strategy? For example, are you renting lists your competitors just used? Do your offers under-perform compared to your competitors'?

o Do your programs have triggers built into them? Meaning, when someone opts in, does she receive a welcome e-mail? When she downloads a white paper, does she get a follow-up e-mail to verify receipt and take advantage of a cross- or up-sell opportunity?

One of the questions that comes up most often in my business is this; "Where do you find high quality fresh, responsive prospects?" And then I hear the next series of questions; Do you buy them? Do you rent them? Who do you buy or rent them from? How do find out who has them in the first place?

Although the answers to these questions are not complicated, they can be a little overwhelming to the uninitiated. So, let's take it step-by-step and you'll see, there really is nothing to it!

There are dozens of ways to find prospects, and there are companies all over the place that would be more than willing to sell you as many prospects as you could ever want and/or need!

Prospecting is a "buyer beware" type of business so let me share with you some of the things you need to know about buying prospecting leads so that your money is well invested and that you get the results you are seeking.

Let's start by getting clear on what a "good" prospect really is. To begin with, I like to ask myself the question, "Who is already doing business with my prospects?" To answer that question means that I have to be crystal-clear on who my ideal prospects are.

When I bring this up in my seminars, I'll always ask, "Who is your ideal prospect?" And very often I get people telling me that "everybody" is their ideal prospect! Now, I can't speak for you, but what I do know is that there is not a single product or service in existence that everybody buys, has bought, or will buy! You may think that everybody "needs" your product or service, and while that might be partly true, remember, people only buy what they "want" not what they "need."

What you do want to find out is what publications your ideal prospects read? For instance, if you sell Internet Web sites, you may want to go after people who have a business, or who may be planning to start a business. You'll find these people read certain magazines, newsletters, and that many of them frequent certain types of web sites.

You may also find many of these people have certain other things in common. They may earn more than $100,000 per year, for example, or they may drive certain types of cars, they may own homes worth more than $250,000, etc. These items are known as "demographics."

This is a big word that really only means that we have created a group of names based on some data such as average household income, average age, average home purchase price, etc. Demographics, in short, are simply another way to segment out your perfect prospects.

When it comes to buying prospects, you have some choices to make. Do you want to spend a lot of money per name and get a better quality lead and likely a much higher response rate, or do you prefer to spend less money, get more names and get a lower response rate?

Here's the difference. You can rent a "compiled" list of prospects for very little money... usually about a nickel a name. These lists are compiled from many data sources, and may or may not be ideal for your offer. In other words, the list is compiled using a loose set of criteria and the names on that list may be very interested in your, or may only hold a casual interest, or even no interest at all. You will have no way of knowing this in advance without actually testing the list with your mailing.

My favorite lists are subscriber lists. Think about this. A person who pays money to a magazine to receive the publication each month is serious about that topic. So serious, they were willing to drop their own money to get access to the information contained in the publication. This very publication may well rent out their subscriber list to advertisers just like you.

Subscriber lists cost more money per name and deliver significantly better results because the names are simply qualified at a higher level. In other words, it's a very good bet that a person who subscribes to a home business magazine has a serious interest in working from home. Now if you sell a product or service that benefits a home office professional, you'll find that this list would be a very good choice for your mailing.

To get your hands on a subscriber list, simply call the publication. They will either rent you their list directly or they will have you call their list broker who will arrange for you to use the list.

List brokers typically handle all types of mailing lists. They have compiled lists, they have subscriber lists, and they have access to hundreds of databases. And, the best part is that you can get a free consultation with a list broker.

Just call them up, tell them what you want and they will prepare a customized list selection for you. The more specific you are about what you have to offer and who your best prospects are, the better results your list broker will deliver to you.

Once you choose your list, or lists, have them send it to you and you are ready to do your mailing. Typically, you can get your mailing list in a few days, or sometimes, you can even get it over the Internet so you can print out your own labels on your own printer.

It's really a lot easier than you'd think and it will help you build your business lightening fast! Remember, you can support your web marketing with traditional marketing for fast results. And it's not a bad thing if your first attempt didn't produce the results you were seeking. Make a change to your headline and your offer and do some more mailing!

One thing that I have learned, which has served me very well over the years, is that successful people never give up! That's right, they may not succeed on their first attempt, or even their 50th attempt, but they keep at it until the get the results they seek.

True success is a matter of persistence. I can guarantee you that you'll never produce a single result if you never take the first step, so pick up the yellow pages or your favorite magazine and make some calls to find out what mailing lists are available to you. Marketing offline is a great way to compliment your online campaigns. It helps target people who otherwise might not spot your online presence. Plus it helps you target people who have Internet access and email when you include your URL or web site address in all of your ads. To help you make the most of your offline marketing, here are a few tips from the pros:

1. INSERTS - Ask for media kits from print publications that target your industry readers. Find out their rates for inserts. And have their advertising department help you create a marketing insert for your products and services that targets Internet users and includes your URL and email address. Do include a phone number (toll-free, if possible) for those who have technical difficulties or prefer to call.

2. TEACH - Hold affordable (or free) offline classes at a local community center or other educational facility. Share your knowledge in your area of expertise with attendees. And make sure to distribute handouts with complete contact information, including your website and email address. Be pro-active and post-active by announcing your classes in a press release to the local media; radio, television, print publications. And follow up by inviting students to enter feedback and referrals in your website form after the class if over. Capture their contact information, enter it into your database, and follow up regularly - sending them your ezine and product / service announcements, both via email and regular postal mail.

3. ORGANIZATIONS - Target your offline marketing to groups of people who will actually be interested in your product or service; i.e. local associations and organizations. Check your Yellow Pages for groups near you and find out when their meetings are. Call ahead to make sure guests are welcome. Then go and network at an easy pace, not fast. Slowly work your way into the group and make sure it would be a good fit for you; you'll want to give at first, then you'll receive later on (maybe after your first year, even).

Gradually distribute your business cards - with your website and email address on them. Volunteer to teach about your area of expertise if the chance arises, of course distributing your marketing materials with our website and email address on them, too.

Use caution, before rushing to join during or after the first meeting. Take your time to make sure the group would be a good fit for you and your business operations. Sometimes group operations are lacking or suffer due to board member turnover, the economy, new industry laws, etc. So you might benefit from waiting to join for several months down the road, or trying a different group all together. So reach out and advertise offline to compliment your online strategy. And remember to include your website and email address on all of your marketing tools.

When advertising, you need to sell your opportunity, your products and yourself. What sets you apart from everyone else? Maybe you produce a newsletter with a specific content where there is a demand from a particular group of people, or you promote your own special product that no one have not yet seen. That´s a huge benefit! That´s what you need to sell in your ad campaign, and those are the things you need to do in order to become successful.

You don´t have to be worried that network marketing prosperity is difficult. It isn´t. In fact, it has never been so easy to make a decent second income or even a full time. But it takes time, persistence and uniqueness.

The people looking at your ads and reading your follow up letters are going to judge you and your whole business not only by what the materials have to say, but also by their appearance.

Be sure you send a powerful, positive and convincing message. Invest some time and money on your marketing materials, the payoff will be well worth it. Look at others ads on the Internet, see what´s attracting you, this will most likely attract others too.

Do you see what I have in mind? Your advertising campaign will be the propel to your business success. By now you think "How do I create one of those successful ads" After all, It´s the words that sell your opportunity. Write a good ad and It´s taking you to the top. Read others ads, get some good ideas from it, don´t copy it, that´s theft. Just get some inspiration from it.Let your friends take a look at your new written ad and say what they think about it, honestly.

Now where to put your ad? If you place your ad in a pets publication and the ad is promoting toys for children you might not get a single response. But placed in the right publication it will be a winner. It´s very important that you from the beginning know exactly where to put your ad. Just think about you having spent hours on that ad and then you put it in the wrong publication and get no response at all, that´s a big waste of time and effort.

My best advise is that you always work on your ads. Write them down, leave them for some time, go back to look at them again, let others look at them and after a while you will see the picture of your ad and you will se if it´s working or not. If not then you have to start from the beginning and write a new one and follow the same procedure again. But now it´s easier because you are deeply involved in the process.

The Internet are full of ads, start clicking around and read others ads, this is the best way to learn what is working or not. You probably can tell instantly when an ad is good or not at least after a while.

We will begin our discussion on email marketing mistakes with spam. Spam is a problem which is reaching endemic proportions. Each day Internet users are bombarded with spam from around the world. This may include a host of unsolicited emails which are promoting products or services the recipients may or may not be interested in purchasing.

A critical mistake business owners can make in email marketing is to issue emails which are likely to be construed as spam. This may result in emails never reaching the recipient or emails being deleted, without being read. Avoiding the potential of falling into the spam category is not very difficult. It basically involves ensuring your promotional emails contain more useful copy than blatant advertising. This will make it more likely for your emails to be taken seriously.

Another email marketing mistake often made is failure to follow up on promotional emails. Sending out emails to interested parties can be very beneficial but it is even more beneficial to contact these email recipients by other methods such as mail or telephone to answer any questions they may have and offer any additional information they may require. This type of follow up can be much more effective than simply sending an email and allowing it to fall into the abyss of an overcrowded email inbox.

Business owners may also run into the mistake of not preparing themselves for an influx of customers after an email marketing effort. The express purpose of email marketing is to generate increased interest in your products or services. Therefore it is critical for business owners to anticipate an increase in business and be prepared to accommodate this increased demand for products and services. This is important because potential customers who have to wait for products or services may seek out your competitors who are better prepared to provide them with products or services immediately.

Finally a critical mistake made by business owners is to not tailor an email marketing campaign to their specific target audience. This can be a problem because it results in the email marketing being less effective. Business owners typically make this mistake because they fall into the trap of believing that it is more important to reach a large audience than it is to reach a target audience.

For example, you may blindly send your email marketing materials to millions of recipients and only generate a few leads. However, you could send the same email marketing materials to a smaller group of only a thousand recipients who all have an interest in your products and services. You will likely generate more leads from this smaller email distribution list.

It is not only important to send your message to members of your target audience but to also tailor your message to suit this audience. Creating an email message which will appeal to a variety of individuals is not as important as creating a message which will appeal to members of your target audience.

As a small business owner, every dollar you spend is a dollar that comes right out of your pocket and affects your profit margin, especially when you're trying to grow your business. If you're going to succeed, you have to pay close attention to your bottom line and look for creative, innovative ways to cut costs while still getting what you need.

That old saying that it "takes money to make money" has never been truer than when it comes to promoting your business.

So when it comes to spending money on advertising, how do you make sure that your advertising is working hard enough, without spending a fortune?

Thanks to the Internet, you've got lots of options for finding cost-effective advertising that does what it's supposed to -- bring targeted customers who are hungry for what you're selling, right to your door. But don't forget about cost-effective offline methods as well.

Here are a few ideas to help you get started:

Focus your advertising dollars on your target market. The tighter your niche, the better your chances of finding the customers who are looking for exactly what you've got to sell! So rather than going wide, and trying to sell to everyone, narrow your focus, and then, if possible, narrow it some more! Figure out who your "ideal" customer is, and then create an advertising campaign for them. Once you know who you're selling to, look for media that targets that demographic. Depending on your product or service, think community and neighborhood newspapers, high school sponsor advertising, chamber of commerce directories, etc.

If your ideal customers aren't defined by a specific geographic location, look at regional or specific demographic publications. Perhaps a regional paper runs an annual issue that focuses on an issue or activity that reaches your target market. Use local cable television to broadcast your ads only in certain markets. You'll get cheaper rates and a more focused demographic.

Buy leftover space or airtime. This is advertising that the publication, radio or television station hasn't filled by their usual deadline. Of course you'll have to take the spots that are available, but again, depending on your business and the product or service you're selling, that inconvenience could still be worth the discount and the exposure you'll receive.

Use classified ads. They're not just for employment offers any more. You'll find classified ads in magazines and newspapers. Before writing your ad, go to your local library, and look through the back issues of the magazine or newspaper that you're considering. Look at the ads that catch your eye, or that are repeated month after month. Those ads wouldn't be in there each month, if they weren't making the advertiser money. Use those ads as springboards for ideas when you're ready to start writing your own classifieds.

Always ask for a discounted rate. (Many publications offer an "agency" discount of up to 15 percent. If you are acting as your own in-house advertising agency, you might qualify for the special rate.

Some monthly magazines offer discounts for multi-ads placed over a 3, 6 or 12 month time period. Most publications have a different rate schedule for different types of advertisers -- so depending on your product or service, you could qualify. And if not, sometimes just asking for the discount will give it to you.

Barter for goods and services. This can be especially effective with radio stations and local papers. See if you can provide your products or services in trade for the cost of advertising. (Also called "trade" or "In-kind" ads, the radio station or publication gives you the ad in exchange for products or services of equal value, and then uses those products or services as part of a promotion or contest for their listeners or readers). This can also be a great way to get additional free publicity, so if you decide to try this method, get creative and think outside the box!

Reuse your ads in other advertising medium. If you've got an ad that's especially effective, or looks great, reuse it in a circular, brochure, handout, flyer or direct mail piece. Use the graphics on your Webpages

Test your ads. Start out with the cheaper publications, so you can find out what's working and what's not. Play with them, and tweak them. Once you've got an ad that works, keep using it. You can run it more than once, or in more than one publication at a time. When it quits bringing in customers, or you start noticing a drop in effectiveness, then it's time to change it.

Do you own a retail business? If so, check into co-op advertising funds that may be offered by your vendors. Co-op programs provide joint advertising for your and your vendor, and you'll get a portion of the cost of the ad reimbursed because the ad mentions the vendor. (Note: most Co-op programs have strict guidelines, so check with your vendors and make sure you're following the rules).

Finding a healthy mix between online and offline advertising, looking for ways to extend your reach and your advertising dollar, and cutting costs creatively will help you ensure that your advertising is working hard for your success.

So you've heard that having a blog is a good idea for your business, but are you sure WHY it's important? Understanding how blogs operate and how to use them for your business will give you great payoffs for your investment of time and energy. Not using your blog effectively will simply waste this fantastic resource.

WHY SHOULD I 'BLOG FOR BUSINESS'?

Blogs are a great method for giving your business credibility. Whether you post about industry news, recommend links to related topics or post valuable inside information or experiences, your audience will view you not only as a commercial venue but as a business interested in its community.

You can also use your blog to build traffic to your commercial site and to build a list of interested prospects. All of these issues are solid tools for marketing your product or service online.

WHY BLOGGING IS GREAT FOR CUSTOMERS

Blogs are not viewed the same as a typical website or sales page. The postings are often less formal or are presenting readers with interesting tidbits that entertain or inform about your topic or industry. Regular postings that draw the attention of your target market will build interest in your product and establish you as an 'expert' as well as create a good relationship with your prospects.

Your prospects can easily receive notice of your recent postings right in their email inbox. By regularly posting relevant information your prospects will look to you first when needing the service or product you provide.

Since many blogs offer readers the ability to post comments you immediately provide an opportunity for feedback or questions. This can clue you in to what your market needs or thinks, which can quickly be responded to in your next post.

BLOGGING FOR TRAFFIC

There are several methods of traffic buildings with blogs. One method is through the blog provider. Often the provider offers readers the option of searching for blogs with a word or phrase. Using that phrase in your blog or title will bring interested visitors.

The other method is through search engines. Search engines love fresh content and blogs make this easy. Simply 'ping' your blog to other media (this announces your update) and the search engines will pick it up. Using commonly searched words and phrases may give you the top ranking you were looking for. You can also link to your business website with the phrase and increase traffic directly to your sales page.

Finally, you can add an RSS feature to your blog. RSS (Really Simple Syndication) allows other websites to run the content from your blog. Every time you make a post the information will be automatically updated on sites featuring your RSS. This is attractive to sites with topics related to yours since they will benefit from the fresh content and you will benefit from the exposure.

If you haven't jumped on the blogging bandwagon yet you've been missing out on one of the cheapest and smartest marketing tools available. Creating a blog is easy and profitable - so make yours today!

For most people, it is the thought of cold calling perfect strangers and facing rejection from those faceless voices on the telephone.

Not everyone has the knack for giving sales presentations, and for those who don't, picking up the telephone and calling someone can be a terrifying experience. Even with the best script, practiced and committed to memory, many people are thrown for a loop when presented with questions and objections by the lead they're speaking with. The stammering begins; confidence falters, and control over the conversation ends up with the lead and not the presenter. Typically, by the end of the call, no sale has been made, and the presenter is convinced this will never work for them.

Many companies have come into being, promising automated marketing systems, lead generation and autoresponse series, to clean lead lists, fancy web sites and numerous other tools to generate interest in whatever business you happen to be promoting, but do they really work? Yes and no.

Most of these automated marketing systems clean your list of prospects for you, but you are still left having to call people on the telephone and present your business to them to close the deal. Therefore, the problem of giving a sales presentation has not been eliminated from the equation.

You can have all the tools for driving traffic to your web site, the autoresponse system to perpetuate interest and weed out the tire-kickers from the serious, but if you haven't got it in you to make that closing phone call, none of the other tools mean much. You need a truly automated marketing system, not a half-baked one that will take you within sight of the finish line, but won't cross it for you.

So what is to be done? Are you never to be successful because you're not good on the phone?

The Prosperity Network has come up with a solution to this major stumbling block, faced by so many. It is called The Prosperity Automated System, and it is the only one of its kind. It works with any business you're promoting, start to finish, including the dreaded phone calls!

The Prosperity Automated System really does do all the work for you. It is 100% automated and 100% duplicatable. It takes your prospects from start to finish... including closing the sale!

If you are one of the millions of people who just don't feel comfortable making cold calls, you owe it to yourself and your business to investigate how The Prosperity System can work for you. Don't let the telephone stand in your way to the success you seek.

The concept of advertising with media outside of the home gained a good degree of notoriety Sunday in The Los Angeles Times with a major article by staff writer Alana Semuels.

The 1,000-word article, "Now showing very near you...", makes a strong case for digital signage networks and advertising as well as other out-of-home media. In the article, Semuels identifies digital video recorders as a major culprit in diluting the frequency with which traditional television commercials are viewed. As a result, advertisers are hungry for an effective substitute, and out-of-home ads appear to be the solution.

Semuels elaborates on a major theme of several of my recent columns, namely every day more TV viewers are skipping past commercials with their DVRs, making in-store, out-of-home advertising all the more appealing.

According to the LA Times story, about 20 percent of U.S. households now have digital video recorders. The ease with which viewers in these homes can skip past the commercials has a growing number of advertisers interested in out-of-home ads on flat panel displays near the point of sale where they can influence shoppers making purchasing decisions. And, if they can't influence a particular buying decision, at least they can elevate brand awareness.

Quoting San Francisco-based Premier Retail Networks, which has 200,000 screens in 6,500 stores nationwide, the article points out 42 percent of shoppers remember a brand they see on in-store screens, twice number for television commercials.

It's no wonder then that a recent forecast from PQ Media Research indicates that spending on out-of-home advertising will grow 27.7 percent this year. The statistics, part of the company's "PQ Media Alternative Out-of-Home Media Forecast 2007-2011" report show the category to be among the fastest growing segments in the media industry.

Last year, media spending on out-of-home advertising reached $1.69 billion, up 27 percent from the 2005. In fact, spending on out-of-home advertising has grown at double-digit rates every year from 2001-2006 with a compounded annual growth rate of 22.6 percent, according to the PQ Media report.

In discussing the reasons for the growth, Patrick Quinn, president and CEO of PQ Media said: "Unlike its mass media peers, alternative out-of-home advertising is impervious to channel or web surfing and is immune to audience fragmentation."

PQ Media identified several factors driving the growth of out-of-home advertising, including:

* advertiser perception that out-of-home ads provide high engagement, targeting options, proximity to
point-of-sale, measurable impact and cost effectiveness;

* data indicating exposure to and recall of these media are growing;

* research suggesting the vast majority of consumers view alternative out-of-home media as favorable
and educational;

* new technology enabling companies to launch digital advertising platforms that generate higher revenues than the conventional formats they replace.

PQ Media divides out-of-home advertising into three categories: video advertising networks and screens; digital billboards and displays; and ambient advertising. The research firm has found video advertising networks is the largest category, accounting for 60 percent of all out-of-home ad spending. Spending on this category grew 28 percent in 2006 to $1.01 billion with double-digit growth in four markets: in-theater, in-office, in-store and in-transit, according to the company.

High-profile news articles, like the one from the LA Times, draw the public's attention to this market. More importantly, this sort of coverage helps busy ad professionals focused on traditional media segments to notice the out-of-home advertising market. As these ad pros have their own "Ah-Hah" moments thanks to these sorts of articles, it won't take too much effort to back up the perception that out-of-home advertising is a growing, important new segment. Research, such as that from PQ Media, makes it easy for out-of-home advertising to be taken seriously -and more importantly for ad buyers to consider it as a new part of their media mix. As they do, out-of-home advertising and digital signage are likely to enjoy even wider acceptance and use.

There are many powerful subliminal messages in advertising. We are only going to deal with one of those messages which I think is probably the most powerful one. And that message or emotion is greed. No one likes to admit this particular emotion but it courses through each and every one of us.

One of the best ways to get through the barriers that people put up in order to protect their finances is through the emotion of greed. People love to know that they are getting more than they are actually paying for. They love a freebie, or another word for it is bonus.

If you give them free bonuses that are worth $100, but the product that they are purchasing only costs $7, then you are well on your way to capturing their $7. Mind you, the free bonuses have to be something of value. They also should be closely linked to the product that is being purchased.

It doesn't make sense giving $100 worth of Internet Marketing material to someone who you are trying to sell knitting needles to. Obviously, your bonuses should be in the area of maybe wool or even an ebook teaching different knitting patterns. Gifts like these show the power of subliminal messages in advertising.

When you give gifts like these, it is like putting bait on a hook that lures their finances by way of greed. In order to get them to spend they must perceive that the free bonuses you are giving them contain great value.

Bundle those free bonuses. Lock them into your main product. Overwhelm, overdeliver, and overload. Then watch as these silent salesman go to work for you. You will not be disappointed.

I usually let the free bonuses do all the work for me as opposed to giving discounts. Anytime you give a discount you eat into your profit margin. So stay away from discounting your prices.

Sometimes I like to give a bonus before we get going. For instance, before I even get into the act of trying to sell something, I give a gift. I generally call this a gift of encouragement. It is designed to encourage my visitor to continue through to the sale.

When I do something like that I always let them know upfront that there are more gifts at the end of this selling cycle. They usually carry on through to the end. Using subliminal messages in advertising can yield very positive results. The buyer gets more than what they bargained for and the seller is able to make a sale.

Many subliminal messages in advertising turn out to be very useful. You will not be disappointed here. Yes, you will be showered with free bonuses at this link: http://www.clefinfodesigns.com/freegoogleads

Why would you consider advertising on blogs? Well, blog advertising is currently one of the hottest marketing techniques available.

Advertising through blogs is much cheaper than the traditional advertising media, mainly because it is still in its infancy. Blog advertising is becoming more and more prevalent throughout the web. It's easy, convenient, cheap, and you do not require a website or any expertise in site building, and the list goes on.

If you do not have a website or know how to set one up, focus all your attention on creating a strong blog design and template that draws attention. Bloggers are less inclined to link to a website that's plastered with ads and all types of hype. Most search engine visitors arrive at your website looking for specific information. Once they tag you and/or buy from you, you are very likely to get them back as repeat visitors/buyers. If a blog appeals to a visitor both through content and design, they'll be back!

Whether or not you have one or many websites, it's - from my experience - super beneficial to advertise on a blog as well. In fact the more blogs you have going and the more often you submit to them, the easier it becomes to reach your target market. You can connect speedily and economically with a like-minded audience hungry for your product. The power of advertising through your blog lies in the fact that bloggers on the whole tend to be an influential crowd of doers.

Blog advertising is the latest and most natural way to create your brand. If you want fast recognition of your products or services, then you will find this way of marketing will do it for you.

Advertising on your blogs not only is an excellent and surefire way to reach millions of readers, but it can boost your website's search engine and page rank.

Remember, the key to a successful home business is quality traffic to your website and/or blog/s.

Unlike a business website, blog advertising is a conversation. Treat your blog as an email you're sending to your best friend. And, just like a personal letter, it is important to communicate with your readers as soon as they respond to your ideas.

So, I encourage you to go ahead and think out of the box! Blogs are not just for fun anymore. Let your entrepreneurial spirit run free, and advertise.

You have the affiliate marketing product you want to promote. You've built a great website to market your affiliate products. You've got some really effective, keyword rich content in place. Now all you need is those millions of targeted visitors to bring traffic to your website! Targeted Traffic = Making Money Online. It's as simple as that.

The amount of commission you will earn will rest on the amount of sales generated by you. You can't expect every visitor to your affiliate marketing site will make a purchase. So, the more visitors you have coming, the greater are your chances of converting them into customers who buy, making money online for you in turn. You can achieve this in many ways, and you can do it for free, or you can pay for it.

One of the most popular methods is article marketing, which is a super effective way of getting new people over to your affiliate marketing site. Other great methods are posting messages on forums, and starting a blog with useful information. These are all really great ways to increase your sites exposure.

Pay-per-click is most widely used to generate traffic on websites. You can have your affiliate marketing advertisement published by Google Adwords and Yahoo Search Marketing based on your keywords. You bid for keywords and then, your ad comes up on the side bar of the search results every time someone searches for that keyword. When the person who searches clicks on your affiliate marketing ad, you pay. That really is just a small price to pay because hopefully you are making money online by generating sales from those leads.

Now it is not mandatory that you use methods for which you must pay. Article writing is one of the best ways in affiliate marketing to generate traffic. Write keyword rich articles roughly about once a week, if not more. Make it related to the particular affiliate marketing products you are promoting. Add the link to your website in the author info or resource box and then submit them to the various article directories on the web. Every time someone reads or comes across your article, they will be able to come to your site through the link. More well written, keyword rich articles mean more visitors to your site, and the possibility to be making money online.

Forums are another excellent way to bring traffic to your affiliate marketing site. You can join any number of relevant forums on the Internet and post your messages on the related message boards. Put a link to your site at the end of your message as a signature so that people find it easy to visit your site when they visit the forum.

Start a blog site for free, and post useful information, including your affiliate link at the end of each message. Keep posting regularly and people will keep coming back regularly if you post quality content.

There are many more ways to get more traffic to your site, but this touches on some of the best and easiest methods used in affiliate marketing as well as many other types of businesses. Trying one or more of these methods will help you in making money online by letting new people find you on the enormous world wide web.

Angelo Tzortzakis loves affiliate marketing; he drinks, eats, and sleeps affiliate marketing. He started a very helpful website so others can learn to become successful also. Learn how to become a super affiliate at http://www.gainmoney123.com
